Beverly W. Bonfoey, 1933-2002, Rogersville
Beverly William Bonfoey, 69, of Rogersville, formerly of Sedalia, born Feb. 15, 1933, in Kirksville, a son of Beverly William Sr. and Eugenia Ellison Bonfoey. On July 12, 1958, in St. Louis, he was died Dec. 28, 1999.
Mr. Bonfoey was a longtime resident of Kirksville, where he owned and operated the Bonfoey Inn Restaurant and Motel. He developed the Holidome Convention Center (now the Days Inn) in Kirksville. He operated Bevco Sand Co. and Bevco Management Development. He was developing real estate projects in Branson before he death by his parents.
Funeral services were Sept. 27 at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Chapel in Kirksville. Burial was in Maple Hills died Monday, Sept. 30, 2002, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City.
She was Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
Elfrieda S. Meyer, 1936-2002, Cole Camp
Elfrieda Sophia Meyer, 66, of Cole Camp, born Aug. 30, 1936, in Yuma County, Colo., a daughter of Rudolf and Johanna Cordes Hagen. On Feb. 24, 1957, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Cole Camp, she was death by her parents.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Cross Lutheran Church with the Rev. Erich L. Kurz officiating. Pallbearers will be Dale Logan, Justin Meyer, Andrew Westermier, Steven Westermier, Michael Dieckman and Christopher Hargrave. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery or to the Lutheran School Association in care of the funeral home.
Lorraine K. McQueen, 1911-2002, Windsor
Lorraine Kroos McQueen, 90, of Windsor, born Oct. 1, 1911, in Benton County, a daughter of Henry Chris and Mary Margaret Means Kroos. On March 2, 1931, in Sedalia, she was died March, 12, 1976.
Mrs. McQueen was a homemaker. She worked for Wesley Allen in his fishing lure company in Windsor. She was a past member of Meadow Queen Rebekah Lodge 528 in Windsor.
Surviving are two nieces, Janet Beaston of Marland, Okla., and Jean Moore of Amarillo, Texas.
She was preceded in Cemetery in Windsor with the Rev. Marc Hibbard officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hadley Funeral Home in Windsor.
Vina C. Murphy, 1912-2002, Jefferson City
Vina C. Murphy, 89, of Jefferson City, born Dec. 1, 1912, in Sedalia, a daughter of George and Anna Kolb Westerman. On July 22, 1935, in Sedalia, she was died March 10, 1962.
Mrs. Murphy had been a resident of the Jefferson City area since 1942. She attended Smith-Cotton High School. She was the manager of the catalog department at Montgomery-Ward for 23 years. She retired Dec. 1, 1975.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Ladies Auxiliary of the United Transportation Union, National Association of Retired and Veteran Railway Employees, St. Ann's Sodality at Immaculate Conception Church, American Association of Retired Persons and served as president of the St. Joseph's Home for the Aged Residents Council.
Surviving are two sons, Richard D. Murphy of Prince George, Va., and Ronald E. Murphy of Holts Summit; a sister, Louise Dalton of Sedalia; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Chapel of St. Joseph's Home for the Aged with Monsignor Charles Patterson and the Rev. Chris Cordes officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection died Friday, Sept. 27, 2002, at the Christian Health Care Center in Hermitage.
She was married to Roy Dean "Bud" Brown. In January 1947, in Kansas City, she was died March 3, 1998.
Mrs. Malecki lived in Kansas City, Independence and near Warsaw. She was a private duty nurse for Bess Truman in Independence in the mid 1970s for about three and a half years. She returned to her farm near Warsaw in 1985.
Surviving are four children, A.W. Brown of Moberly, Carolyn Miller of Pawhuska, Okla., John A. Malecki Jr. of Warsaw and David M. Malecki of Kansas City; two brothers, George Fogle of Kelso, Wash., and Charles Fogle of Fordland; a sister, Margie Wilson of Gilmer, Texas; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in Cemetery in Independence. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Reser Funeral Home in Warsaw.
Richard Lane, 1941-2002, Warsaw
Richard Lane, 61, of Warsaw, born June 29, 1941, in Denver, a son of Henry E. and Helen Marie Nelson Lane. On July 3, 1964, in Aspen, Colo., he was death. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars post in Colorado.
Also surviving are two sons, Lars Lane of Westminster, Colo., and Erik Lane of Knoxville, Tenn.; a sister, Janet Scales of Grand Junction, Colo.; two brothers, Ronald E. Lane of Empire, Colo., and Robert Carl Lane of Grand Junction; and two grandchildren.
The body was cremated. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of Reser Funeral Home in Warsaw.
