Erna A. McClure, 1918-2004, Sedalia
Erna Ann McClure, 86, of Sedalia, born April 21, 1918, a daughter of Walter V. Sr. and Bessie Aldredge McClure.
Ms. McClure was raised and educated in Hughesville. She was a Hughesville High School graduate. She attended Sedalia Business College. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, where she was a member of United Methodist Women and helped with the prayer chain.
She is a past member of Business and Professional Women and the Helen G. Steele Music Club. She was a claims representative for the Social Security Administration for several years. She was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.
Surviving are a brother, Walter McClure Jr., of Sedalia; four nieces, Diane Hall, of Ojai, Calif., Donna Phelps, of Portervine, Calif., LuAnn McClure, of Sedalia, and Karla Rumpf, of Columbia; and several great-nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a sister, Elizabeth Brumm; and a nephew, Walter McClure III.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Frederick Zahn officiating. Burial will be in High Point died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2004, at Ashton Court Nursing Home in Liberty.
He was married to Ida Mae Polk, who married to Coleta F. Perkins, who survives.
Mr. Murray lived in Kansas City, where he worked for 47 years at Barney Goodman Camp. He retired and returned to Sedalia.
Surviving are a daughter, Ressa Murray, of Kansas City; a son, Thomas J. Hogan, of North Dakota; two stepsons, Earl Hamment, of Holden, and Russell Hamment, of Kingsville; a stepdaughter, Cathy Harlan, of Holden; four grandchildren, Micheal Murray, of Laurie, Ronnie Tyler and Becky Davis, both of Kansas City, Jerry Tyler, of Texas, and Zach Harlan; and several great-grandchildren.
He was also predeceased by a daughter, Wilberta Priesendorf; 18 brothers and sisters; and two grandsons.
Memorial services will be at 5 p.m. Monday at Open Bible Church in Sedalia. His body was donated to science.
Arrangements are under the direction of McLaughlin Funeral Chapel.
The family suggests memorial contributions to his wife.
Marguerite V. Chapman, 1917-2004, Lee's Summit
Marguerite Virginia "Gini" Buchter Chapman, 87, of Lee's Summit, formerly of Sedalia, born Sept. 5, 1917, in St. Louis, a daughter of Oliver T. and Marguerite V. Lund Buchter. On May 8, 1943, at the Army chapel in Fort Little Rock, Ark., she was died July 4, 2001.
Mrs. Chapman lived in Little Rock, Washington, D.C., New York City, St. Louis and Union, before she moved to Sedalia in 1953. She was a den mother, troop leader, volunteer and member of several clubs and charities. She was a charter member and 50-year member of Chapter LQ, P.E.O., a longtime member of Sorosis and the Sedalia Garden Club and a supporter of American Field Service. She was a former member of the Sedalia Country Club, several bridge clubs and supper clubs. She enjoyed her friends and church family at First Christian Church in Sedalia. The Chapmans were hosts to an Italian foreign exchange student, Luci Lena Riatti, in the 1966-67 school year.
Surviving are two daughters, Ginger Child, and her husband, Tom, of Charlottesville, Va., and Chris White, and her husband, Jeff, of Lee's Summit; a son, Con Chapman, and his wife, Laura, of Weston, Mass.; a sister, Jean Mulleniex, of Honolulu; seven grandsons; and a great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Russell Willoughby officiating. Burial will be in Crown Hill died Sunday, Nov. 14, 2004, at Four Seasons Living Center.

James D. Lee, 1936-2004, Coarsegold, Calif.
James Dudley Lee, 68, of Coarsegold, Calif., born Nov. 8, 1936, in San Antonio, Texas, a son of James and Laura Lee. He was died Sunday, Oct. 10, 2004, at his home.
He was married to Joyce E. Terry, who survives of the home.
Mr. Sommers worked for BB Bess Co. when he was 14. He then moved to Kansas City and was an off road tire sales and service man for McDowell Tire Co. for 10 years. He returned to Sedalia in 1973 and worked for the Firestone Tire Co. He started Sommers Tire Service in 1976 and did custom mowing from 1982 to 1990. He operated as Sommers Custom Mowing and drove for Fischer's Concrete until he retired in 1991.
He then moved to Lincoln. He farmed most of his adult life. He was a certified locksmith. He was a member of the Eagles and a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. He was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting and fishing. His friends and family considered him as a jack of all trades and a master of none.
Also surviving are a son, Arnold L. Sommers Jr., of Sedalia; two daughters, Tammy Allison and Joy Hoon, of Lincoln; a stepson, Terry Ray Terry, of Texas; three sisters, Opal Bowman, of Suffolk, Va., Betty Davis and Mary Riley, of Sedalia; and seven grandchildren.
He was predeceased by three brothers, Billy Sommers, Wendall Sommers and Harold Sommers; and a sister, Ruby Zubrod.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Ewing-Schutte-Semler Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bill Siebert officiating. Pallbearers will be Jim Hart, Dan Fischer, Richard Lilly, Dale Klink, Bill Mahnken and Gale Hall. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Beesley III, Orville Marsh, Dale Vinson, Jim Harvey, Robert Payton and Mark Hewett. Burial will be in Crown Hill died Monday, Oct. 11, 2004, at North Kansas City Hospital.
He was married to Almeda E. Nutter, who died Aug. 16, 1997; a brother, Lee R. Best; a sister, Dollie L. Woods; and an infant grandson, Jerry Mark Narron Jr., who Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
