James H. Wilson, 1911-2004, Warsaw
James H. Wilson, 93, of Warsaw, born Aug. 1, 1911, in Birmingham, a son of Walter Perry and Tabitha House Wilson. On June 20, 1936, he was died May 14, 2004.
Mr. Wilson was an Army veteran, serving in Europe during World War II. He worked for the Wabash Railroad for 15 years, and sold real estate for 25 years. He and his wife owned and operated a motel in Mountain Home, Ark., for two years before moving to Forsyth, where they lived for five years. They moved to Benton County in 1964 and later to Warsaw. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Warsaw, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5902 in Gravois Mills, and was a past member of Shawnee Masonic Lodge 653 of Warsaw.
Survivors include a step-daughter, Gloria Jackson, of Raytown; a step grandson, Sam Jackson, of Lancaster, Calif.; a step granddaughter, Kathy Mendenhall, of Raytown; a nephew Jimmy D. Wiggin, of Westwood, Kan.; a great-niece, Sandra Stumpff, of Shawnee, Kan.; three step-great-grandchildren and two step-great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Floral Hills died Thursday, Aug. 5, 2004.
She was married to Chester L. Davis, who married to Carl Hatfield, who Cemetery in Appleton City.
Friends may call after 8 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, where the family will receive visitors from 9:30 service time.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Masonic Home or Shriner's Childrens Hospital.
Lee R. Phillips, 1932-2004, Sedalia
Lee Roy Phillips, 71, of Sedalia, born Nov. 15, 1932, in East Stone Gap, Va., a son of Allen Lewis and Vina Minerva Mullins Phillips. On May 5, 1972, in Sedalia, he was Cemetery in Higginsville, with military rites by the Whiteman Air Force Base Honor Guard. There will be no visitation.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.
Dr. Jerrie Jones, 1942-2004, Sedalia
Dr. Jerrie Jones, 62, of Sedalia, born Jan. 6, 1942, in Forest, Miss., a son of Albert and Flora Clark Jones. On April 5, 1963, in Valley Springs, S.D., he was died Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2004, at Warrensburg Manor Nursing Home.
She was married to William Elza Brooks, who death by two grandchildren, Marilyn Kay Lake and Maxine Carver; two brothers, William Williams and Kenneth Williams; a stepson, Eldon Brooks, and four sisters, Hazel Farmer, Nellie Sullivan, Temple Smith and Helen Hedrick.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hadley Funeral Home in Windsor, with Brother Don Nelson officiating. Burial will be in Laurel Oak died Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2004, at his home in rural Cole Camp.
He was married to Grace Letha Wells, who survives of the home.
Mr. Lanphear was a carpenter in the Kansas City area. He moved to a farm near Cole Camp in 2002. He was a Navy veteran during the Vietnam era. He enjoyed football games and Ford trucks. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Also surviving are a daughter, Melissa Lanphear Breeden, of Cole Camp; a son, Arnold Campbell, of Kansas City; a stepson, Chuck Thorpe, of Blue Springs; two stepdaughters, Donna Siefkas and Tracie Tripedo, both of Kansas City; three sisters, Annie Laughlin, of South Dakota, Alberta Lang, of Washington, and Irene Derby, of Nebraska; a brother, Ronald Eugene Lanphear, of California; his companion, Evelyn Campbell, of Kansas City; four grandchildren; and seven step grandchildren; four nephews and four nieces.
He was predeceased by his parents and a granddaughter, Gianna Breeden.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Ozark Tabernacle Church in Cole Camp, with the Rev. Johnny Medlock officiating. Burial will be in Inman Memorial died Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2004, at his home in rural Cole Camp.
