Pearl C. Rowland, 1910-2004, Sedalia
Pearl C. Rowland, 94, of Sedalia, born June 18, 1910, in Callao, a daughter of Charles and Maud Baker Roberts. On June 19, 1937, in Callao, she was Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time Thursday at the church.
Arrangements are under the direction of Gilleland & McElwain Funeral Home in New Cambria.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the died Monday, Aug. 2, 2004, at his home.
He was married to Mary Wanda Dulaney, who survives of the home.
Mr. Schildberg lived in Seattle when he was young. He moved to Los Angeles in 1927 and graduated from Bonito Union High School in 1930. He joined the Marine Corps in 1932, graduating from flight training as a naval aviator in 1937 in Pensacola, Fla. He flew from several naval ships including the USS Langley, USS Ranger and the USS Saratoga.
He joined Transcontinental and Wester Air (TWA) in 1940 in Burbank, Calif. He moved to Kansas City in 1942 and was commissioned as a lieutenant in the Navy in 1943. He was assigned to Squadron VR-3 at Olathe Naval Station in Olathe, Kan. He remained in the Naval Reserves after World War II and retired with the rank of commander in 1955.
He resumed his career with TWA as a line check pilot and accumulated approximately 30,000 flying hours by the time of his retirement in 1968. He flew several aircraft including the Douglas DC-2, DC-3, DC-4, Boeing 307-B, Lockheed Constellation, Martin 202, Martin 204 and Convair 880 jets.
Following his retirement, he moved to Warsaw on the Lake of the Ozarks. He enjoyed fishing, boating, spending time with his grandchildren and drinking an occasional beer. He was a charter member of Faith Lutheran Church in Warsaw. He was a life member of American Legion Benton County Post 217 in Warsaw and a member of the Silver Eagles Association in Pensacola and the Warsaw Airport Planning Commission. He served as an alderman for the city of Warsaw for several years.
Also surviving are a son, William Dulaney Schildberg, of Grandview; a brother, Lynn Schildberg, of Buena Park, Calif.; a granddaughter; and a great-granddaughter.
He was predeceased by two sisters, Rovilla Schilberg and Dolores Bellamy; a brother, LaVerne Schildberg; and a grandson, Michael William Schildberg.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Faith Lutheran Church in Warsaw. Burial will be in Riverside died Monday, Aug. 2, 2004, at the Good Shepherd Care Center in Versailles.
He was married to Carol Roberson, who survives at the care center.
Mr. Alpers was a 1943 graduate of Stover High School. He attended Central Methodist College in Fayette, before he enlisted in the Navy in 1944. He was a hospital corpsman in World War II and in the Korean and Vietnam wars. He retired in 1969. He was a member of the Fleet Reserves and a friend of the Rolling Thunder Motorcycle Club. He also was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Stover.
Surviving are a son, Kenneth Alpers, of Versailles; a sister, Deloris Munsterman, of Stover; and two granddaughters.
He was predeceased by a son, Michael Alpers; and a brother, Loren Alpers.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Stover, with the Rev. Cecil Murdock officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul Lutheran died Wednesday, June 2, 2004, at Veterans Hospital in Columbia.

She was married to Edward Mathews, who died Thursday, June 3, 2004, at Four Seasons Living Center.
He was married to Frances I. Snapp, who survives of the home.
Mr. Thompson was a member of East Sedalia Baptist Church. He worked as a bridge builder for Missouri Pacific Railroad for 30 years, retiring in 1976. He enjoyed spending time with his family and sharing adventures with his great-grandson.
Also surviving are two sons, William H. Thompson, of Nelson, and James L. Thompson, of Smithton; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. John Barrett officiating.
Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Grant Newton, Denny Arnold, Ron Arnold, Larry Arnold, Don Arnold and Chad Kindle. Honorary pallbearers will be J.W. Marlin, Donnie Kabler, Marvin Meek, Charlie Curry, Roy Snapp, Elwood Hayes and Bob Pummill.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Heckart-Gillespie Funeral Home.
