Dora B. Mummert, 1907-2003, Fortuna
Dora B. Mummert, 95, of Fortuna, born Dec. 26, 1907, in Versailles, a daughter of O.G. and Matilda Jane Gray Harris. On May 24, 1924, she was died Oct. 10, 1979.
Mrs. Mummert attended Fortuna United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker, who enjoyed gardening and doing outdoor activities. She also liked her flowers.
Surviving are a daughter, Isa May Drake-Squires, of Fortuna; a half brother, Carl Billy Harris, of Kansas City; 15 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; a step great-granddaughter; and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a son, Ted. J. Mummert; a grandson; three brothers; and a sister.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Fortuna United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Omie Nelms officiating. Pallbearers will be great-grandsons. Burial will be in Moreau died Saturday, Oct. 4, 2003, at the Fair View Nursing Home.
She was married to Ralph Hall, and on March 16, 1952, she was died Dec. 23, 1966.
The family came to Sedalia in 1915. She graduated from Smith Cotton High School in 1926.
Mrs. Schwarz was a member of Broadway Presbyterian Church. She worked for Milton Oil Co. and Swift and Co. She retired from Adco Inc. in 1974.
Survivors include a son, Robert E. Hall, of Overland Park, Kan.; a step-daughter, Marilyn DeHaven, of Sedalia; three grandsons; six great-grandchildren and two step-grandsons.
She was predeceased by two sisters, Mamie Belle Tomlinson and Elizabeth Tomlinson.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Heckart/Gillespie Colonial Chapel with Dr. Dennis Haines officiating.
Pallbearers will be Gary Creek, Bob Pirtle, Bob LeBow, Jack Alfrey, Jimmy Moore and Walter Loveland.
Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Spence and Herbert Rogers.
Burial will be in Crown Hill died Saturday, Oct. 4, 2003, at Western Missouri Medical Center.
She was married to Jack Trader Brock, who died Friday, Oct. 3, 2003, at his home.
He was married Rebecca Arnold, who survives of the home.
Mr. Carver was a member of Broadway Baptist Church, where he served as trustee and Sunday school teacher. He was also a member of the IBEW Local 814 and was a former member of the Iron Horseman Motorcycle Club. He owned several businesses including Rev-Rac Slot Car Center and Motorcycle Shop and a backhoe business.
During his retirement, Mr. Carver enjoyed working in his blacksmith shop and spending time with his family. He enjoyed coaching and attending his children's and grandchildren's sports events.
Mr. Carver, a 1948 Smith-Cotton High School graduate, served with the Army in Germany and was a veteran of the Korean War. He worked as a power plant operator for Missouri Public Service for 42 years, retiring in 1992.
Also surviving are a daughter, Kitti Homan of Kansas City; a son, Jeffrey Carver of Sedalia; a sister, Alberta Vickrey of Houston, Texas; a brother, Rockie Carver of Gladstone; and five grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a brother, Leo Carver.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Heckart/Gillespie Colonial Chapel with Dr. Donald Allcorn officiating.
Pallbearers will be James H. Brown, Charles Bultemeir, Park Denny, Billy Millsap, Jack Speaker and Ernie Buso. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. D.K. Allcorn and Jack Curran. Burial will be in Crown Hill died Friday, Oct. 3, 2003, at Rest Haven Convalescent and Retirement Home in Sedalia.
He was death by a brother, Robert Foley, and a stepson, Fred Mullen.
There will be no funeral services. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services in California. Burial will be in California City Cemetery.
