Carla Jane Wear
Carla Jane Wear, nee Sparks, of Cook Station, Missouri, was born on Saturday, November 27, 1943 in St. Louis, Missouri, to Parker Sparks and Grace Margaret Hoffmeister Sparks and passed away on Sunday, June 10, 2007 in the Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan, Missouri, at the age of 63 years, 6 months and 14 days.
She married Earl David Wear on April 22, 1986 at Jefferson Barracks, St. Louis, Missouri. When living in St. Louis, Missouri, she was a member of Rockport Baptist Church, Arnold, Missouri where she taught Sunday School and sang in the church choir. She previously worked as secretary for the Bass Canoe Rental, Steelville, Missouri. She also was a member of the Steelville Country Club. Her hobbies were playing piano, working crossword puzzles, fishing, floating, deer hunting, being outdoors, attending ballgames and especially watching Earl play ball.
She is preceded in death by her parents; stepson, Wayne Wear.
She is survived by her husband of the home; children, Charles “Chuck” Isaac (Becky) of Kansas City, Missouri, David Isaac (Michelle) of Festus, Missouri, Cindy Gorse of Mesquite, Texas; step-children, David Wear of High Ridge, Missouri, Allan Wear (Cindy) of St. Peters, Missouri, Barry Wear (Erin) of Fenton, Missouri and Earlene Derousse (Kevin) of St. Genevieve, Missouri; four grandchildren, 10 step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation was Wednesday, June 13, 2007 from 5-8 p.m. at the Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri.
Funeral service was Thursday, June 14, 2007 at the Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri, with Rev. Bob Coleman and Rev. Delmar Hutson officiating. Burial was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Steelville, Missouri.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri.

Raymond George Brenner
Raymond George Brenner of Cuba, Missouri, was born to the union of Herman and Anna (Albach) Brenner on July 21, 1937 in St. Louis, Missouri, and passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2007 in Sullivan, Missouri, at the age of 70 years and 10 days.
Ray was united in marriage to Judy A. (Wilkerson) Hopwood on September 17, 2002 in Steelville, Missouri.
He retired from St. Louis County Parks & Recreation Dept. after many years of service. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Marine Corps. and enjoyed fishing, wood working, landscaping and long drives in the country.
Ray is preceded in death by his parents; one son, Michael Brenner; one brother, Herman J. “Bud” Brenner and one sister, Arline Hampton.
He is survived by his wife, of Cuba, Missouri; two sons, Jeff and wife Tracey Brenner of Grover, Missouri, and Tom and wife Andrea Brenner of St. Charles; two adopted children, Corey Brenner of Willow Springs, Missouri and Erin Brenner of Alabama; three step-sons, Tim and wife Tami Hopwood of Texas, Kenny and wife Lisa Hopwood of Cuba, Missouri and Dennis and wife Barb Hopwood of Cuba, Missouri; four grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held Thursday, August 2, 2007 from 5-8 p.m. at Britton Funeral Home in Cuba, Missouri.
Graveside service was Friday, August 3, 2007 at 10 a.m. at Delhi Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri, with full military honors.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri.

Craig Davis
Craig J. Davis of Leavenworth, Kansas, was born November 19, 1948 in St. Louis, Missouri, to Marie and James Davis and passed away Friday, July 20, 2007 at the age of 56 years.
He grew up in a military family and graduated from high school at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. He went on to receive a Bachelor of Journalism degree from the University of Missouri–Columbia and an M.L.A. from Baker University.
He retired from Hallmark Cards.
He married Marlene Evans, of Butte, Montana in 1980.
He was preceded in death by two aunts, Frances Voss and Helen Merkel.
He is survived by his wife; son, Griffin; daughter, Gwenna; mother, Marie Davis of Bourbon, Missouri; brother, Michael Davis and family of Springfield, Missouri; nieces; nephews; three aunts, Pauline Harris, Marge Killian and Rose Bindner and other relatives and friends.

Lillie Arnetta “Nettie” Halbert
Lillie Arnetta “Nettie” Halbert was born Friday, December 30, 1915 in Cherryville, Missouri, the daughter of Cletis and Mertie (Mauck) Murry and passed away Wednesday, August 1, 2007 at Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan, Missouri, at the age of 91 years.
Nettie was united in marriage to Thurston R. Halbert on September 11, 1935 in Cherryville, Missouri, and to this union, one son and two daughters were born. After 55 years of marriage, Thurston passed away on July 29, 1990.
Nettie lived on the farm in Cherryville, Missouri, area spending time gardening, growing flowers and quilting. She also collected dolls and salt and pepper shakers.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; an infant daughter, Juanita; three brothers and four sisters-in-law, Lewis Murry and wife Mary, Everett Murry and wife Lillie, Otis Murry and wife Bunchie and Lavada Murry; five sisters and six brothers-in-law, Laura Williams and husband Clarence, Pearl Bryant and husband Lilbert, Lettie Oxendine and husband Raymond, Dollie Murry, Mabel Bell and husband Ernest, Max Davis and Clarence Dixon.
She is survived by her son, Raymond Jr. Halbert and wife Carol of Davisville, Missouri; one daughter, Mildred Davis of St. Louis, Missouri; one brother, Lawrence Murry of Buckhorn, Missouri; one sister, Rosie Parker of Dixon, Missouri; eight grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; other family and friends.
Funeral service was held Friday, August 3, 2007 in the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri, by her grandson, Rev. Michael Davis.
Special music of “Mansion on the Hilltop” was sung by Kourtney and Brandie Larson and Paula Davis with accompaniment by Melanie Koch on piano and Mitchell Davis on violin. A song of “When I Get Where I’m Going” was sung by Linda Isaac. Closing the service was a song of “There is Peace.”
Serving as casket bearers were Michael Davis, Mitchell Davis, Jason Halbert, Ray Halbert, Jerry Koch and Jack England with committal prayers and burial in the Martin Cemetery in Cherryville, Missouri. A closing song of “Amazing Grace” was sung at the graveside with Mitchell Davis accompanying on violin.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri.

Robert L. Haynes
Robert L. Haynes of Bourbon, Missouri, was born Sunday, October 1, 1944 to James Rex Haynes and Lucille Thoma Haynes in Florida, and passed away suddenly at his home in Bourbon, Missouri, on Thursday, August 2, 2007 at the age of 62 years, 10 months and 1 day.
Robert loved working as an over the road truck driver for several years hauling freight. He also loved his dogs.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by cousins, Elwood Ulrich and wife Rosa of White Water, Missouri, Linda Gilles of Bourbon, Missouri, Sondra McDowes of Cape Girardeau, Missouri and Frances McCarty of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; close friends, Greg Peak of Bourbon, Missouri, Joe Berry of St. Louis, Missouri, and Larry Neusbaum of White Water, Missouri.
A memorial service will be held in White Water, Missouri, on Saturday, August 11, 2007.
Local arrangements were under the direction of the Hutson Funeral Home, Cuba, Missouri.

Cheryl Hunter
Cheryl Joyce (Stroupe) Hunter was born in 1950 to the union of William E. “Bill” and Myrtle (nee George) Stroupe and passed away Monday, July 23, 2007 at the age of 56 years.
On July 1, 1967, she married Thomas “Tom” Hunter in Sullivan, Missouri, and recently celebrated 40 years together.
After marriage, Cheryl continued her high school education by taking correspondence courses and earned her diploma through American School in 1971.
She was an accomplished seamstress and also upholstered furniture. She loved researching family history and keeping up with local news. She attended Full Gospel Assembly of God for many years and worked at Fidelity Telephone for over 30 years.
She is survived by her husband of the home; one son, Andrew Hunter and wife, Loretta, of Dallas Center, Iowa; three grandsons, Amos, Evan and Cyrus Hunter; two brothers, Tommy Stroupe and wife Fern of Belle, Missouri and William “Bud” Stroupe and wife Fern of Bourbon, Missouri; two sisters, Geraldine Neff of Sullivan, Missouri, and Marie Summers of Bourbon, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday, July 26, 2007 at 10 a.m. in the Full Gospel Assembly of God with interment in the historical Buffalo Cemetery in Sullivan, Missouri. Pastor Dale Graham officiated.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Eaton Funeral Home, Sullivan, Missouri.

Irene “Rene” Nordeck
Irene V. Nordeck (nee Skeel) of Cuba, Missouri, was born on Friday, May 11, 1934 in St. Louis, Missouri to Clarence Skeel and Catherine Olle Skeel. She passed away in her home on Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at the age of 73 years, 2 months and 20 days.
Irene married James R. Nordeck, Sr. in St. Louis, Missouri, on November 8, 1954 and to this union four children were born.
She was very devoted to her nursing field as a Rehab Med Technician. She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Cuba, Missouri, after moving here from Tucson, Arizona, 10 years ago. Her hobbies were crocheting Native American dolls, cooking and working with her flowers.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Sue Ann Starr and brother, Eddie Skeel.
She is survived by her husband of the home; children, Neil Dennis Nordeck of California, James Robert (Darla) Nordeck, Jr. of Leasburg, Missouri, Cheryl (Bill) Martel of San Diego, California and Kathleen (Steven) Hartzler of Cuba, Missouri; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Karen Skeel of St. Louis, Missouri, Tom Starr of Cuba, Missouri, Mary Jane (June) Harpold and Dora Jean (John) Huesler of West Virginia, and Nancy Ann (Tom) Sodders of Ohio; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Visitation was Thursday, August 2, 2007 from 5-8 p.m. at Hutson Funeral Home, Cuba, Missouri.
Funeral service was Friday, August 3, 2007 at 10 a.m. at Hutson Funeral Home, Cuba, Missouri, with Father James Finder officiating. Burial at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri, with pallbearers Jesse Mills, Steve Hartzler, Neil Dennis Nordeck, Jim Nordeck Jr., Russ New and Charlie Hovis.
All arrangements were under the direction of Hutson Funeral Home, Cuba, Missouri.

Glennon John Pellet
Glennon John Pellet of Cuba, Missouri, was born to the union of Arthur Pellet and Edna (Prack) Pellet on November 12, 1928 and passed away Monday, July 23, 2007 in Cuba, Missouri, at the age of 78 years, 8 months and 11 days.
Glen was united in marriage to Geraldine Ann Going on December 30, 1949 in St. Louis, Missouri.
He was the former owner/operator of Foundry Products, Inc. and Sealers, Inc. both in St. Louis, Missouri, Dutch Barn Restaurant and KBCC 1430AM Radio in Cuba, Missouri, and he helped found the Circle “J” Ranch in Gasconade County, Missouri, a place of shelter for abused children and unwed mothers. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Cuba, Missouri, and a former member of the Lemay Lions Club. During his retirement years, he enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family.
Glen is preceded in death by his parents; three sons, David and Robert Christiansen and Paul Pellet, two brothers, Warren and Marvin Pellet; three sisters, Melba and Connie Pellet and Sally Brewer.
He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Ann Pellet of the home; two sons, Michael Christiansen of St. Louis, Missouri and Richard Christiansen of High Ridge, Missouri; three daughters, Carole and husband Bill Renaud, Kathleen and husband Jim Berger and Pamela and husband Steve Auer all of St. Louis, Missouri; 11 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held Wednesday, July 25, 2007 from 5-8 p.m. at Britton Funeral Home, Cuba, Missouri.
Funeral service was Thursday, July 26, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Cuba, Missouri, with Rev. Aaron Kotila officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Robert Renaud, Michael Ziegler, Brent Papek, Jim Berger, Bill Renaud and Steve Auer.
Interment was the Park Lawn Cemetery, Lemay, Missouri, at 2:30 p.m.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri.

Barbara Jane Price
Barbara Jane Price was born May 5, 1941 in Steelville, Missouri, the daughter of James and Ethel (nee Freeman) Cornelius and passed away Sunday, August 5, 2007 at the Gibbs Care Center in Steelville, Missouri, at the age of 66.
Barbara was united in marriage to Charles Price on March 18, 1961 in St. Louis, Missouri, and to this union, four sons were born.
She graduated from Meramec Community College in St. Louis, Missouri, with an associate degree. She was of the Methodist faith.
She was preceded in death by her father and one brother, Davis Cornelius.
Barbara is survived by her husband of 46 years; her mother; four sons, Richard Price of Steelville, Missouri, Greg Price and wife Tammy of Steelville, Missouri, Robert Price of Steelville, Missouri and James Price and wife Carla of Sullivan, Missouri; four brothers, Roy, Laddie, Vernon and Renick Cornelius, all of St. Louis, Missouri; two sisters, Martha Sills and Jean Pulaski, both of St. Louis, Missouri; and nine grandchildren.
Private family burial service was held in the Freeman Cemetery in Cherryville, Missouri.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri.

Marylee M. Busler
Marylee M. Busler was born November 21, 1924 to the late Alvin T. and Bertha R. Evans (Payne) in Kennet, Mo. She departed this life on Tuesday, January 16, 2001, having attained the age of 76 years.
Mrs. Busler was married to James E. Thomason in 1943. To this marriage, three sons were born. In 1960, she married John T. Brown, who preceded her in death in 1962. On Dec. 21, 1968, she married Frank E. Busler. Together, Mr. and Mrs. Busler adopted their daughter in 1973. Mr. Busler preceded her in death in 1981.
The majority of Mrs. Busler's life was spent as a mother and homemaker. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. The greatest joy in her life came in spending time with her grandson and his family, with whom she resided.
She is survived by three sons, John E. Thomason, Aurora, Colorado, Douglas H. Thomason, Puobleo, Washington, Robert W. Thomason, Sr. and wife Pamela, of Leasburg, Mo., and one daughter, Paula K. Busler of Belleville, Illinois; 11 grandchildren, James F. Thomason and wife Shannon of Leasburg, Mo., Rebecca L. Cencelewski of New Carlisie, Indiana, Lori A. Thomason of Sullivan, Mo., Frank E. Thomason of Leasburg, Mo., Jennifer M. Thomason of Leasburg, Mo., Levi G. Weinhaus and Steven A. Reaves of Belleville, Illinois, Sean, Scott, Janice and Jill Thomason of Aurora, Colorado.
Six great-grandchildren, Journey and Myranda Thomason of Leasburg, Mo., Austin Cencelewski of New Carlisle, Indiana, Tice Thomason and Jenny and Erin McCoy of Platte City, Mo., many nieces, nephews, loved ones and friends.
Mrs. Busler was also preceded in death by her grandson Robert Thomason, Jr., her great-granddaughter Megan Cencelewski, three sisters, Shirley Travis, Wanda Mowery, and Betty Maclanahan.
Services for Mrs. Busler were held on Thursday, January 18, 2001, at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, Mo. Visitation was from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with funeral services at 1 p.m. It was Mrs. Busler's request that her remains be cremated.
