Nora Eola Hiett, 89, of Gainesville, died March 29, 2004, at Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains.
Burial was in Lakewood Memorial Park in Hughson, Calif.
Mrs. Hiett was born Jan. 22, 1915, in Forest Green, the daughter of Louis Julius and Florence Ethyl (Lester) Dodge.
She married Orville Leon Hiett June 30, 1949, in Houston, Texas.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Hiett is survived by two daughters, Sandra Knutson of Theodosia and Linda Sue Beer of Medford, Ore.; one son, Robert Haley of San Antonio, Texas; and five brothers and sisters, Helen Haley of Mexico, Mazio Guffey of Aurora, Charles Dodge of Greeley, Colo., Ronald Dodge of Phoenix, Ariz., and Donald Dodge of Greeley, Colo.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.

Arless Huffman

Funeral services for Arless Huffman, 93, of West Plains, were held Monday, Feb. 9, in the Rose Chapel of the Robertson-Drago Funeral Home in West Plains.
Burial was in Smith Chapel Cemetery in Zanoni.
Mr. Huffman died Feb. 5, 2004, at West Vue Nursing Home in West Plains.
He was born Nov. 5, 1910, in Zanoni, the son of William Butler and Emma Isabella (Hollenshed) Huffman.
He married Cora Marie Trantham Nov. 27, 1932, in Melbourne, Ark.
He attended Harbor of Hope Church.
He was a school teacher for more than 50 years, having taught in Gainesville, Dora, Bakersfield and West Plains schools.
He received his bachelor of science degree and master of science degree from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, Ark.
He was a member of the Retired Teacher's Association.
Mr. Huffman is survived by one daughter, Marilyn Susie Lewis and her husband, Ronald, of West Plains; two grandsons, Carey Wayne Lewis and his wife, Tammy, of Wichita, Kan., and Jerry Dail Lewis and his wife, Wendy, of Morrisville; two great-grandchildren, Maverick Lee Landes Lewis and Reanna Marie Lewis; one nephew, Haston Luna of St. James; and several great-nieces and great-nephews, including Loweta Rogers of Mountain Home, Ark.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Cora; his parents; two brothers, William Ocie Huffman and James Burdine Huffman; two sisters, Luvica Ann Elizabeth Huffman and Cora Jane Galloway; one foster brother, Monroe Davis; and several nieces and nephews.

Juhree Lottie House

Funeral services for Juhree Lottie House, 72, of Independence, were held Tuesday, Feb. 10, at Clear Springs Baptist Church in Dawt.
Burial was in Clear Springs Cemetery.
Mrs. House died Feb. 7, 2004, at the Medical Center of Independence.
She was born Jan. 24, 1932, in Dawt, the daughter of General and Gladys (Graham) Evans.
She had lived in the Independence area since 1954, and had been employed at William Chrisman High School cafeteria for 17 years.
She was a member of the Homebound Calvary Baptist Church.
Mrs. House is survived by two sons, Gary House of Independence and Ron Sexton and his wife, Julie, of Kearney; one daughter, Kathy Funk and her husband, Neil, of Cumming, Ga.; four grandchildren, Landon Sexton, Garey House, Nina House and Evan House; a great-granddaughter, Sheliah Bell; one brother, Gerald Evans of Gainesville; two sisters, Shirley Lair of Smithville and Janice Hall of West Plains.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph E. House in 1999.

Charles W. Stone
1931-2004
Funeral services for Charles William Stone, 72, of Auxvasse, were held Saturday, Jan. 31 at Pickering Funeral Home in Mexico, with Rev. Mike Crowson officiating.
Burial was in the Elmwood Cemetery in Mexico.
Mr. Stone was born April 4, 1931, in Gainesville, the son of Harry and Nellie Sylvia (Grisham) Stone.
He married Elaine Pate Feb. 4, 1961, in Gainesville.
He worked as a meat cutter at St. John's Grocery Store in Gainesville and then at Eslinger Hardware in Gainesville.
He moved to Fulton and worked for more than 20 years at the Fulton State Hospital Biggs Building until he retired.
Mr. Stone is survived by his wife, Elaine; two sons, Ken Stone of Jefferson City and Lance Stone and his wife, Sandy, of Mexico; two daughers, Tina Groves and her husband, Randy, and Shana Poteet and her husband, David, all of Mexico; 14 grandchildren; and one brother, Walter Ray Stone of Paragould, Ark.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Rena; one grandson, Dylan Stone; his parents; and two sisters, Ramona Sparks and Betty Lee Steleck.

William Riley Strasner

Funeral services for William Riley Strasner, 74, of Mountain Home, Ark., were held Tuesday, Feb. 3, at Kirby-Boaz Funeral Home Chapel in Mountain Home, Ark., with Rev. Dale Sykes officiating.
Burial was in Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery in Mountain Home with military honors provided by the North Central Arkansas Veteran's Council and the Ozark VFW Post 3246 Honor Guard.
Mr. Strasner died Jan. 31, 2004, at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home, Ark.
He was born May 26, 1929, in Ryan, Okla., the son of William Frank and Bonnie (Edmonson) Strasner.
He married Bessye "Becky" L. Neal Aug. 11, 1951, at Jacksonville, Ark.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having served in the Korean and Vietnam conflicts.
He served with the Air Force for 21 years and retired as a Master Sergeant.
After retiring from the Air Force, he worked for Thiokol Corporation for 15 years.
He moved to Pontiac in 1992, and then to Mountain Home, Ark., in 1997.
He was of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Strasner is survived by one son, E. Dean Strasner and his wife, Linda, of Pleasant View, Utah; three daughters, Becca Galloway and her husband, Tracy, of South Ogden, Utah, Lica Strasner Smith of Chapel Hill, N.C., and Wynde Strasner of Mountain Home, Ark.; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; five special friends, Stacy White, Laurie Ayers, Bonnie Meyer, Christy Chaney and Pearl Klecka.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Becky; his parents; and one sister.

Vesse Jesse Thomas Phelan

Funeral services for Vesse Jesse Thomas Phelan, 84, of Gainesville, will be held Saturday, Feb. 14, at Allen Mortuary in Turlock, Calif.
Burial will be in Patterson Cemetery in Patterson.
Mr. Phelan died Feb. 7, 2004. He was born May 27, 1919, in Salina, Okla., the son of Barney Edgar and Ethel Irene (Lewis) Phelan.
He married Margaret Evelyn Fain in 1940.
He was a retired auto mechanic.
Mr. Phelan is survived by eight children, Bill Phelan of Gainesville, Barbara VanBunt of Locust Grove, Okla., Brenda Higgins and Deborah Evans of DeNair, Calif., Tammy Mason of Oakdale, Calif., Barney Phelan of Grants Pass, Ore., Jesse Phelan of Friso, Calif., and Vess Thomas Phelan of Brentwood, Calif.; one sister, Elvaree Combs of Antioch, Calif.; one brother, Onyan "Bubby" Phelan of Salina, Okla.; 20 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret, and his parents.
