Stanley Dean Baldwin, 65, of Versailles, formerly of Phoenix, Ariz., died Friday, Feb. 18, 2000, at his home.
He was born Oct. 10, 1934, in Osceola, Iowa, to Pierce and Alice Fouche Baldwin.
On April 2, 1983, he was married to Connie Sue Bailey Furney, who survives at the home.
Mr. Baldwin was central office technician for U.S. West Telephone Company for 33 years.
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
He was a member of the Gravois Mills United Methodist Church, was executive vice president of the Communications Workers of America Union 7019 and served on the Board of Directors of Sun West Credit Union.
Surviving him in addition to his wife are three sons, Russell A. Brewer of Scottsdale, Ariz., Ken Furney of Eldon and Donald Furney of Versailles; a daughter, Leslie Baldwin of Seattle, Wash.; a brother, Jerald Baldwin of Casa Grande, Ariz.; a sister, Eloise Esser of Prescott, Ariz.; and 12 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Gravois Mills United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dan Adkison officiating.
Burial was in the Versailles Cemetery under the direction of Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.

Beula O. Kidwell
Beula O. Kidwell, 80, of Olean, formerly of Barnett, died Saturday, Feb. 19, 2000, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City.
She was born March 6, 1919, in Barnett to Charles and Dixie J. Madole Hees.
On Oct. 31, 1942, she was married in Oklahoma to Guy W. Kidwell, who died in 1982.
Mrs. Kidwell worked as a seamstress in the pants factories in Tipton and Eldon.
Surviving are a daughter, Jean Koebel of Olean; two brothers, Billy Hees of Versailles and Shirley Hees of Eldon; two grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two sister-in-laws, Gladys Hees of Barnett and Icel Kidwell of Eldon.
Two infant children, Sonny Dale Kidwell and Sudie Kidwell, preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Versailles with the Rev. Jay Quinn officiating.
Burial was Big Rock Cemetery near Barnett.
Ethel Lorene Rodgers
Ethel Lorene Rodgers, 89, of Eldon died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2000, at Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach.
She was born Sept. 29, 1910, in Otterville to Robert and Louisa Allison Dinwiddie.
In 1935, she was married in Sedalia to Myron H. Rodgers, who preceded her in death.
Also surviving are a son, Richard Rodgers of Eldon; a sister, Velma Rissler of Eldon; a nephew, Robert Dinwiddie of Columbia; and three nieces, Karen Sue Eisenbarth and Marcia Aspinall, both of Wisconsin, and DeAnn Johnson of Texas.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Crownhill Cemetery in Sedalia.
Jim Phillips officiated.
Arrangements were under the direction of Rekus Funeral Home of Eldon.
Memorials may be made to the Richard Rodgers Custodial Fund.
Shirley VanDyke
Shirley VanDyke, 58, of Eldon died Monday, Feb. 21, 2000.
She was born Jan. 28, 1942, in Miller County to John W. and Delphia B. Settles Schupp.
On Sept. 5, 1964, she was married at Eldon to Earl E. VanDyke, who survives at the home.
Mrs. VanDyke was a certified medical technician and was employed by Lee House in Eldon.
Also surviving her are a daughter, Denise VanDyke of Eldon; her mother, Delphia B. Schupp of the home; a stepson, David Earl VanDyke of Brumley; a stepdaughter, Valerie Washam of Brookfield; five sisters; a brother; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Andrew J. VanDyke.
Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home in Eldon.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home in Eldon with the Rev. Jack Dilday officiating.
Burial will be in Blue Springs Cemetery near Eldon.

Doris J. Athy
Doris J. Athy, 66, of Jefferson City died Monday, Feb. 21, 2000, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City.
She was born Oct. 7, 1933, in Boone County to Robert B. and Mary F. Grant Athy.
Her mother, Mary Nall, survives in Columbia.
Miss Athy was director of the former Thomas Jefferson Regional Library System for 30 years.
She assisted in forming the Heartland Regional Library System for Miller and Maries counties and was a consultant for the district until the time of her death.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Funeral Home in Columbia.
The Rev. Harvel Sanders will officiate.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday.

Betty R. DeGraffenreid
Betty R. DeGraffenreid, 77, of Brumley died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2000, at University Hospital in Columbia.
She was born May 19, 1922, in Hays, Kan., to Marshal and Roxie Hamm Ormord.
She was married Nov. 14, 1942, in Tuscumbia to John R. DeGraffenreid, who survives at the home.
Mrs. DeGraffenreid was a member of the Riverview Baptist Church in Osage Beach and was a musician at the church for more than 40 years.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. DeGraffenreid is survived by a son, David J. DeGraffenreid of Brumley; a daughter, Cathy DeGraffenreid of Brumley; a sister, Jean Hefton of Kansas City, Kan.; five grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hedges Funeral Home in Osage Beach.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Riverview Baptist Church in Osage Beach with the Dr. James R. Smith officiating.
Burial will be in Boltz Cemetery near Brumley.

Anna Mae Whittle
Anna Mae Whittle, 84, of Jefferson City died Thursday, May 4, 2000, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City.
She was born March 5, 1916, in Henley to Boyd and Anna Sullens Rogers.
On Sept. 14, 1940, she was married in California, Mo., to Markel "Jack" Whittle.
Mrs. Whittle was the author of a book about the history of Henley.
She was an OB nurse for many years and then was owner-operator of the Whittle Store in Henley.
Surviving are two sons, Tom Whittle of Centertown and Bill Whittle of Jefferson City; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were two sons, Mark Whittle Jr. and Francis (Woody) Woodson.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Phillips Funeral Home with Bro. Bob Hoskins officiating.
Burial was in Spring Garden Cemetery near Eugene.
