Frank J. Massman, 89, of St. Elizabeth died Saturday, Jan. 27, 2001, at St. Marys Health Center in Jefferson City.
He was born May 15, 1911, in St. Elizabeth to John and Anna Weidinger Massman.
On May 3, 1941, he was married in Glendale to Regina Steinman, who survives at the home.
A lifelong resident of St. Elizabeth, Mr. Massman was a farmer.
He was a member of the St. Lawrence Catholic Church in St. Elizabeth, the Catholic Knights of America and the Missouri Farmers Association.
Also surviving him are a son, Lawrence Massman of Austin, Texas; two daughters, Marjorie Fuchs of Ellsworth Air Force Base, South Dakota; and Joann Wulff of Jefferson City; a brother, William Massman of High Ridge; two sisters, Sister Christine Massman, CSJ, and Sister Mary Mark Massman, FSM, both of St. Louis; four grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
An infant son and daughter preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in St. Elizabeth with the Rev. John Degnan officiating.
Burial was in St. Lawrence Cemetery under the direction of Rekus Funeral Home of St. Elizabeth.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.
Karl Lewis Huffman Jr.
Karl Lewis Huffman Jr., 17, of Pleasant Hill died Friday, Jan. 12, 2001, as the result of an automobile accident south of Pleasant Hill.
He was born May 24, 1983, in Kansas City to Karl L., Sr. and Kathy Hays Huffman, who both survive at the home.
His paternal grandparents are Bonnie Machon Hedgpeth and the late Lawrence Huffman, who lived in the Hickory Point area.
Mr. Huffman was a senior at Pleasant Hill High School where he was an honor student and a member of the Hillside Singers.
He lettered in music and received a I in state competition as a soloist his freshman year.
Last year, he earned a II rating at state.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by two sisters, Kristal Renee Huffman and Kari Michelle Huffman, both of the home; his maternal grandfather, George L. Hays of Lee's Summit; and his paternal grandmother and step-grandfather, Bonnie and Ivan Hedgpeth of Harrisonville.
Funeral services were held Jan. 16 at the school with Dr. James D. Butterfield Jr. officiating.
Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery under the direction of Stanley & Son Funeral Home of Pleasant Hill.
Memorial contributions may be made to the music department of the Pleasant Hill High School.
Jaysen T. Harman
Jaysen Tyler Harman, 16, St. Joseph, died Saturday, Sept. 30, 2000, from injuries suffered in an automobile accident.
Jaysen was born Oct. 24, 1983, in Sedalia, the son of Steven and Linda Harman, St. Joseph.
He had been a resident of St. Joseph most of his life and was a student at Lafayette High School.
He is survived by his parents, Steven and Linda Harman, of the home; a brother, Joshua Harman, St. Joseph; a sister, Andrea Harman, St. Joseph; maternal grandparents, Charles and Gayle Davenport, Versailles; a maternal grandfather and step-grandmother, Larry and Jean Ramsey, Conroe, Texas; a paternal grandfather and step-grandmother, Frank and Linda Harman, Pittsburg; and maternal great-grandparents, Otis and Berniece Ramsey, St. Joseph.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Donna Lane.
Services were Tuesday, Oct. 2 and conducted by Meierhoffer Family Funeral Service, St. Joseph.
Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Joseph.

Vernon C. Asmus
Vernon C. Asmus, 68, Overland Park, Kan., died Wed., Oct. 4, 2000, at his home at the Lake of the Ozarks.
He was born March 20, 1932, in Manilla, Iowa.
Mr. Asmus was a sales representative for Astra Pharmaceutical Company for 25 years, retiring in January of 1999.
He was a graduate of Northwest Missouri State College, Maryville, and a veteran of the Korean War, serving as a captain.
He is survived by his mother, Hattie Asmus, Manilla, Iowa; his wife of 43 years, Mary Ann Asmus of the home; sons, Jeffrey B. Asmus, Gravois Mills, Randy J. Asmus and his wife, Kristin, Shawnee, Kan; a granddaughter, Kinsey Marie Asmus; and stepgrandson, Michael Sovanek.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ben Asmus, Denison, Iowa.
Funeral services were Saturday, Oct. 7 at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Overland Park Chapel.
Burial was in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Charles Floyd Fulks
Floyd Fulks, 62, Latham, died Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 3, 2000, near Latham.
He was born Dec. 24, 1937, near Latham, the son of Harold and Faye Arlene Leonard Fulks.
On June 9, 1957, he married Rosella Garber.
Mr. Fulks worked in the parts department at Henry Tractor Company and Crown Power and Equipment in California.
He was a farmer, a member of the Missouri Cattleman's Association and member of the Pilot Grove Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Rosella Fulks, of the home; one son, Chuck Fulks and wife, Debbie, Tipton; one daughter, Rita Lawson and husband, Robert, Sedalia; his twin brother, Loyd Fulks, California; two sisters, Arletta Bolinger, California, and Judy Faye Oehrke, Blue Springs; four grandchildren, Kelly Fulks, Stacy Fulks, Ashley Fulks and Justin Lawson; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were Friday, Oct. 6 at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles, with the Rev. Kevin Blackburn officiating.
Carol Franken and Lisa Knipp sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and Connie LaFever sang "In the Garden," accompanied at the organ by Twila Garber.
Interment was in the Highland Cemetery near Latham.
Casketbearers were Rodney Fulks, Stanley Garber, Ronnie Garber, Jerry Garber, Evan Garber and Jason Hays.

Norman L. "Whitey" Combs
Norman L. "Whitey" Combs, 78, Versailles, died Thursday evening, Oct. 5, 2000, at his home.
He was born May 13, 1922, near Glensted, the son of William R. and Nettie Kaiser Combs.
On Feb. 21, 1946, he married Juanita McGines.
Mr. Combs was a dairy farmer, drove a school bus for 25 years, and was a former employee of Shryack-Givens Grocery.
He was a member of the West Union Baptist Church and the Fortuna Senior Citizens.
He is survived by his wife, Juanita Combs, of the home; two sons, Jim W. Combs, Keota, Okla., and Billy C. Combs and wife, Joyce, Jefferson City; one daughter, Brenda F. Smith, Versailles; one brother, William R. Combs Jr., California; one sister, Melva O'Neal, Tipton; five grandchildren; one step-granddaughter; three great-grandsons; two step-great-grandsons; and many other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Arthur, Emmett, John and Charley Combs; and three sisters, Bell Oldham, Opal Fulks and Lena Peoples.
Funeral services were Monday, Oct. 9 at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles, with the Rev. Rod Campbell officiating.
Norma Bradley sang "In The Garden" and "How Great Thou Art," accompanied at the organ by Mildred Dump.
Interment was in the West Lawn Addition of the Versailles Cemetery.

William Robert Webster
William Robert Webster, 74, Versailles, died Thursday evening, Oct. 5, 2000, at St. Mary's Health Center in Jefferson City.
He was born Feb. 4, 1926, in Gravois Mills, the son of Earl and Lola Fish Webster.
On July 1, 1948, he married Hazel Josephine Croy.
Mr. Webster was a retired supervisor for Yellow Freight System, a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, and member of the First Baptist Church of Gravois Mills.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel Josephine Webster, of the home; two sons, Earl Daniel Webster, Diamond, and Billy Michael Webster, Kansas City; one daughter, Sandra Jo Randall, Versailles; two brothers, Douglas Webster, Kansas City and Paul Webster, Blue Springs; two sisters, Louella Anderson, Carthage and Joanie Harrison, Osceola; three grandchildren, Brett Randall, Seth Randall and Jeff Webster; and many other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Thelma Collier and Cora Mae Street.
Funeral services were Sunday, Oct. 8 at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles, with the Rev. Ted Haynes officiating.
Dan and Jo Powell sang "Amazing Grace" and "In The Garden," accompanied at the organ by Mildred Dump.
Military honors and interment were in the West Lawn Addition of the Versailles Cemetery.
