Glen Hadley Stone
Glen Hadley Stone, 61, of Yuma, Ariz., died Wednesday, Oct. 27, 1999, at his home.
He was born April 27, 1938, in Ulman to Logan Hadley and Eula Sarah Shepherd Stone. His parents, who preceded him in death, also had been residents of Eldon. In 1967, Mr. Stone married Karen Wilson, who survives at the home.
Mr. Stone was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He was employed with Yellow Freight as a truck driver for 22 years, retiring in 1995. He was a member of the Ulman Christian Church.
Also surviving him are three daughters, Starla Buechter of Iberia, Shona Watson of Lincoln, Neb., and Tosha Edwards of Dunning, Neb.; a son, David Jones of Jefferson City; two stepsons, Mark Williams of Kansas and Mike Williams of Lincoln, Neb.; 12 grandchildren; and two sisters, Mildred Eads of Jefferson City and Margaret Morris of Columbia.
His body was cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Mary Elizabeth Alexander
Mary Elizabeth Alexander, 96, of Iberia died Saturday, Nov. 6, 1999, at St. Elizabeth Care Center in St. Elizabeth.
She was born May 28, 1903, in Hawkeye to Thomas and Martha Shelton Duncan. On June 5, 1945, she was married in Rolla to Barney Alexander, who died Jan. 14, 1982.
Mrs. Alexander attended Cross Elementary School, the Iberia Academy and Drury College in Springfield. She taught at Brown and Barton schools near Iberia and was a member of the Iberia Church of Christ. She worked for Montgomery Ward in Kansas City and Barnes Hospital in St. Louis.
Mrs. Alexander is survived by three sisters, Edith Willis and Nellie Ponder, both of Iberia, and Hazel Schulte of Eldon; and two nieces.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Charles Rose officiated. Burial was in Freedom Cemetery near Dixon.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Freedom Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund.

Orville Floy Griffin
Orville Floy Griffin, 86, died Sunday, Nov. 7, 1999, at Miller County Nursing Home at Tuscumbia.
He was born June 15, 1913, in Miller County to William "Bill" and Emma Gibson Griffin. On May 8, 1937, he was married in Tuscumbia to Mary E. Jones, who died Sept. 24, 1987.
Mr. Griffin retired in 1974 after working 25 years as a construction lineman foreman for Gascosage Electric Co-op in Dixon. He was a member of the Iberia United Methodist Church.
Surviving him are two daughters, Emogene McDonald and Connie Hammack, both of Iberia; a brother, Hubert Griffin of Grandview; three grandsons; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. The Rev. RoseEllen Hoff and Wayne Vaughan officiated. Burial was in Iberia Cemetery.

Margaret L. Simmons
Margaret L. Simmons, 77, of Eldon died Sunday, Nov. 7, 1999, at Columbia Regional Hospital in Columbia.
She was born March 27, 1922, in Memphis, Tenn., to Clarence Leroy and Gladys Lee Currie Bradick. On Oct. 11, 1941, she was married in Marion, Ark., to Clifford E. Simmons, who died Aug. 27, 1990.
Mrs. Simmons and her husband owned and operated several businesses in Central Missouri, including Eldon Steel Products, Eldon Roller Skating Rink, Simmons Supply and Manufacturing, Readygas Propane Service, Inc., and Simmons Farms.
She was a member of several organizations, including Evening Euterpean Club, Oasis Extension Club, the Miller County Historical Society, the Greater Lake Area Arts Council, the Eldon Chamber of Commerce, Winning Women, the Women's Birthday Club, the Missouri Limousin Association and the North American Limousin Foundation. She was a graduate of White Haven High School in Memphis, Tenn.
Mrs. Simmons was a memberof the Eldon First Church of the Nazarene.
Surviving are two sons, C. E. "Bud" Simmons of Camdenton and Edward L. Simmons of Eldon; three daughters, Barbara Simmons Woodham of St. Louis and Deborah K. Leonard and Linda Simmons-Thomas, both of Eldon; a sister, Gladys Pearce of Memphis, Tenn.; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Eldon First Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Jerry Frye officiating. Burial was in Eldon Cemetery under the direction of Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon.
The Margaret and Clifford Simmons Christian Foundation, for the Advancement of Christian Values and Principles has been founded in their memory. Those wishing to make donations to the tax-exempt organization may send them to Citizens Bank of Eldon, P.O. Box 275, Eldon, or Central Bank of Lake of the Ozarks, P.O. Box 207, Osage Beach.

Burnell 'Mac' McCubbin
Burnell "Mac" McCubbin, 77, of Eldon died Saturday, Nov. 6, 1999, at his home.
He was born Dec. 6, 1921, at Passover to James O. and Alta Pearl Jeffries McCubbin.
Mr. McCubbin was a real estate agent. He was a disabled American veteran, serving in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion Post of Eldon and Miller County VFW Post 2442 at Eldon.
Surviving are a sister, Jewell Ahart of Eldon; a nephew and two nieces, Mike Ahart and Cheryl Combs, both of Eldon, and Carol Carlson of California; and six great-nephews and two great-nieces.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home in Eldon.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home with the Rev. Randall Bunch officiating.
Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.

Jacob Arthur Popp
Jacob Arthur Popp, 19, of Jefferson City died Sunday, Nov. 7, 1999, as the result of a traffic accident.
He was born Dec. 3, 1979, in Jefferson City to Rado J. and Brenda E. Rackers Popp, who survive at the home.
Mr. Popp was a 1998 graduate of Eugene High School where he was a member of the varsity baseball and basketball teams, FFA and the National Honor Society. He was a sophomore at the University of Missouri-Columbia, where he was a member of the Alpha Gama Rho Fraternity.
He was a site manager for the 2-P Livestock Company and a member of Central United Church of Christ.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are two sisters, Nicki E. Russell of Brazito and Kelley E. Popp of Jefferson City; his paternal grandmother, Dorothy Popp of Jefferson City; and maternal grandmother, Anne Rackers of Jefferson City.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Central United Church of Christ with Dr. Stephen H. Buchholz officiating. Burial was in Honey Creek Cemetery under the direction of Houser-Millard Funeral Home in Jefferson City.
Memorials may be made to the Samaritan Center or the Alpha Gama Rho Fraternity Building Fund at the University of Missouri-Columbia.

Margaret Helen Humphreys
Margaret Helen Humphreys, 85, of Tuscumbia died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 1999, at her home.
She was born Oct. 26, 1914, in Montrose to Ora Paul and Edith May Silvers Whitfield. On April 22, 1933, she was married in Iowa to Marshall Eugene Humphreys II, who died March 10, 1972.
Mrs. Humphreys was a graduate of Trenton High School. She and Dr. Humphreys moved to Tuscumbia from Kirksville in 1937. She was a member of the Tuscumbia Christian Church.
Surviving are a son, Marshall Eugene Humphreys III of Ulman; two daughters, Marjorie Ann Howard of Tuscumbia and Martha Susan Grossman of Henderson, Nev.; three sisters, Edith May Long of Kansas City, Betty Jane Berry of Sunrise Beach and Dorothy Ann Whitfield of Lee's Summit; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Tuscumbia Christian Church with the Rev. Gene Edwards officiating. Burial will be in Tuscumbia Cemetery under the direction of Rekus Funeral Home of Iberia.
Memorial contributios may be made to the Tuscumbia Cemetery Fund in Care of Central Bank of Tuscumbia or the Tuscumbia Christian Church.

Patti Jean Warrington
Patti Jean Warrington, 86, of Lebanon died Saturday, Nov. 6, 1999, at Balanced Care North in Lebanon.
She was born Feb. 22, 1913, in Eldridge. On Sept. 28, 1932, she was married to Theodore Earl Warrington, who died March 4, 1993.
Mrs. Warrington was reared in the Lebanon area and was a graduate of Lebanon High School. She lived most of her life in Lebanon except during World War II when her husband worked in the shipyards at Long Beach, Calif.
Surviving her are a daughter, Thea Elizabeth Dodge of Iberia and a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Lebanon Cemetery. Rev. James Meredith officiated. Arrangements were under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Lebanon.
