James R. Williams, 83, Clarksburg, died Wednesday, Sept. 22, 1999, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City.
He was born July 8, 1916, in Cooper County, a son of George Franklin and Pearl Mae Albin Williams.
He was married to Mathilda M. Rademann on March 2, 1947 in Lone Elm.
She died March 23, 1996.
Mr. Williams was a lifetime livestock farmer.
He was a member of the Missouri Farmer Association, Polled Hereford Association and the Red Angus Association.
Surviving is one son, Richard Williams with his wife, Kathryn, Tipton; four brothers, Porter Williams, Boonville, G. F. Williams, Cheyenne, Wyo., Paul Williams, Bay City, Mich., and Victor Williams, Bunceton; three sisters, Ada Harris, Sedalia, Alma Baughman, Boonville, and Eula Fairfield, Fairfax, Va.; three granddaughters, Jennifer Marie Williams, Katie Ann Williams and Rebecca Jo Williams, all of Tipton.
He was also preceded in death by one brother, George Lee Williams in 1924.
Services were at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Chapel in California with the Rev. Ivan Dameron and the Rev. Peter Kurowski officiating.
Burial was in Hickman Cemetery south of Clarksburg.
Pallbearers were Harold Meyer, Dale Stahl, Sanford Rambo, Sam Blades, Alvin Meyer, Lloyd Winebrenner, Dewey Yarnell and Jim Canton.

Mrs. Irene J. Friedmeyer
Mrs. Irene J. Friedmeyer, 87, California, died Sunday, Sept. 26, 1999, in California.
She was born July 8, 1912, in Stringtown, the daughter of John J. and Katherine E. Horak Strobel.
She was married to Arthur Martin Friedmeyer on Nov. 15, 1931.
He died July 20, 1991.
Mrs. Friedmeyer owned and worked at Friedmeyer's California Construction Supplies for many years.
She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, California, where she taught Sunday School for more than 50 years, was a member of the Ladies Aid, Evening Guild, Altar Guild and Lutheran Seniors.
She was also a member of the Country and Town Extension Club.
Surviving are two sons, Norman Friedmeyer with his wife, June, Plattsmouth, Neb., and Earl Friedmeyer with his wife, Marj, California; one daughter, Doris Nothnagel, California; and one sister, Milda Hagemeyer, California.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Clarence Strobel, Walter Strobel and William Strobel; two sisters, Flora Kuester and Louise Bleich; and one son-in-law, Marvin Nothnagel.
Services were at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in California with the Rev. Dr. Peter Kurowski officiating.
Burial was in St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were David Jungmeyer, David Schubert, David Bleich, Philip Hines, Virgil Myers and David Reed.

Myron Allen Scafe
Myron Allen Scafe, 67, Otterville, died Wednesday, Sept. 22, 1999, at University of Missouri Hospital & Clinics, Columbia.
He was born Sept. 18, 1932, at Waterford, Mich., a son of Caleb and Edith Bailey Scafe.
On May 21, 1954, in Topeka, Kan., he married Betty Jane Shaw who died July 2, 1984.
Mr. Scafe retired Dec. 31, 1972 as a technical sergeant after a 20-year career with the United States Air Force.
He served three tours of duty in Vietnam, Green land and Thailand.
He was a mail carrier in Otterville for 10 years until 1990.
He was a member of Otterville American Legion Post 84.
Surviving are two daughters, Carolyn Walje, Otterville, and Julie Olson, Pilot Grove; one son, David Scafe, Sedalia; one brother, Gale Scafe, and six sisters, Virginia Betts, Esther Van Cleek, Edna Walker, Margaret Sattler, Gertrude King and Arlene Suddeth, all of whom reside in the state of Michigan; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Saturday at Meisenheimer Funeral Home in Otterville with the Rev. Farrie Cole officiating.
Burial was in New Lebanon Cemetery near Otterville.
Pallbearers were Sam Tuck, Cecil Bohon, Bud Cooney, Lyle Aggeler, Eugene Walje and Bob Gooch.
Honorary pallbearers were Richard Jackson, Dusty Ensley and Joe Moody.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.
Harry Meyer Jr.
Harry "Bill" Meyer Jr., 72, Otterville, died Monday, Feb. 28, 2000, at the University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics-Columbia.
He was born June 12, 1927, near Syracuse, a son of Harry McKenzie and Gladys Wilda Hirst Meyer.
On Jan. 6, 1962, at Sedalia, he married Dixie Kruse who survives of the home.
Mr. Meyer was a truck driver and a farmer.
He lived all his life in the Syracuse and Otterville community.
He was the founder of the Otterville Card Club.
Also surviving are five sons, Billy Joe Meyer and his wife, Elsie, California, Harvey Ellis Meyer and his wife, Mae, Sedalia, John Meyer and his wife, Marilyn, Otterville, James Robert Meyer and his wife, Rhonda, and Robert Meyer, all of Otterville; five daughters, Wilda Romig and her husband, Lenny, and Ellen Twyman and her husband, John, all of Syracuse, Betty Sleeper and Lynn Welton, both of Sedalia, and Lisa Dowdy and her husband, George, Otterville; two brothers, Harold Meyer, Pembroke, Ky., and Herb Meyer, Otterville; 21 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two grandchildren.
Friends may call after 2 p.m., and the family will receive visitors between 6 and 8 p.m. Thursday, March 2 at First Baptist Church of Otteville.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church of Otterville, with the Rev. Farrie Cole officiating.
Pallbearers will be Cecil Bohon, Don Wolthuis, Frank Wessing, E. H. Fowler, Mark Cole, Bud Cooney, Eddie Thomas, Bill Deuschle and LaVern Schoen.
The body will be cremated.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Providence Baptist Church, Highway 135, Smithton.

Harold R. Simmers
Harold Ray Simmers, 53, California, formerly of Clarksburg, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City.
He was born Sept. 16, 1947, in Boonville, the son of Truman L. and Rosie Katherine McDaniel Simmers.
He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church near Clarksburg, and a 1966 graduate of Tipton High School.
Surviving is one brother, Robert Simmers with his wife, Margaret, Clarksburg; and three nieces.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Vera Bowen.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 26 at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services with the Rev. Ivan Dameron officiating.
Burial was in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery near Clarksburg.
Pallbearers were Robert Potter, Troy Potter, Bobby Klein, Philip Birdsong, Greg Bolinger and Tony Bolinger.

John E. Phelps
John E. Phelps, 84, formerly of Tipton, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, at Capital Health Care Center in Jefferson City.
He was born Jan. 12, 1916 in St. Louis, a son of John E. and Isabelle Jane Williamson Phelps.
On Sept. 15, 1939, in St. Louis, he married Mary Lee Chambers Phelps.
Phelps lived most of his life in St. Louis.
He was self employed in the St. Louis community before moving to Tipton in 1989.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Surviving are two daughters, Sandra Lynn Sturnader, Iola, Texas, and Nancy Lee Halaney, Houston, Texas; one sister, Janice E. Woolsey, Herculaneum; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 25 at Meisenheimer-Griswold Funeral Home with the Rev. J. D. Cooper officiating.
Burial was in the Masonic Cemetery at Tipton.
Pallbearers were Elmer Miller, Bill Dawson, Dean Kasper and Richard Robertson.
