David Louis Teague, infant son of Davyjoe and Marie Elledge Teague of Stover, was stillborn Friday, Feb. 11, 2000, at the University Hospital and Clinics in Columbia.
He is survived by his parents; his twin brother, Bryan Nickolas Teague; his paternal grandparents, David W. Teague, Gravois Mills, and Patrica M. Campbell Teague, Columbia; his maternal grandmother, Ann Elledge, Versailles; his paternal great-grandmother, Frances Campbell, Lynn, Mass.; his maternal great-grandmother, Lucille Bellflower, Blythe, Calif.; and aunts, uncles and cousins.
A family graveside service was Wednesday, Feb. 23, at the Stover Cemetery in Stover, with the Rev. William Moore officiating.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home of Stover.
Lucy Miller Bell
Lucy Miller Bell, 89, Thornton, Colo., and formerly Missouri died at Sunny Acres Nursing Home. March 27, 2000.
Daughter of James R. and Ellen Hickam Miller.
She was born March 10, 1911 in Zebra.
She married Norman J. Snorgrass Dec. 12, 1929, and they were later divorced.
She married Elwyn F. Bell on April 28, 1962.
Mrs. Bell was a retired licensed practical nurse.
She is survived by her husband, Elwyn Bell; two daughters, Joretta (Jodi) Foster and her husband, Harold, Broomfield, Colo., Dianne Eckman and her husband, Jeff, Billings, Mont.; two grandsons, Major Michael Foster and his wife, Kris, Maxwell AFB, Ala., Colton Eckman, Billings, Mont.; four granddaughters, Diana M. Baranowski and her husband, Derek, Cookeville, Tenn., Valerie Kay Mahoney and husband, Garry, Arvada, Colo., Sharon Bell, Billings, Mont., and Cashea Eckman, Billings, Mont.; six great-grandchildren, Jason and Justin Foster, Maxwell AFB, Ala., Devin and Drew Baranowski, Cookeville, Tenn., and Katie Ann and Ryan Mahoney, Arvada, Colo.; a brother-in-law, Gerald Crowley, Arlington, Va.; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and one sister.
Caroline B. Jackson
Caroline B. Jackson, 76, Versailles, died early Sunday morning, April 30, 2000, at the Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City.
She was born Jan. 14, 1924, in Groveland, Mass., the daughter of the late Henry and Caroline C. Hall Stephenson.
She was united in marriage to Walter W. Jackson on July 16, 1949, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 4, 1983.
Mrs. Jackson was a Navy veteran, serving her country during World War II as a Seaman 1st Class.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Jackson moved to Versailles from Nobleboro, Maine, in 1996 to be near her daughter.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Stover and was active in the senior citizen clubs in Versailles and Stover.
She is survived by four sons, David E. Jackson, Giddings, Texas, Robert Jackson, Nobleboro, Maine, Donald Jackson, Lawrence, Mass., and Paul Jackson, Los Angeles, Calif., one daughter, Helena Marriott and her husband, Bill, Versailles; one brother, Harold Stephenson, Groveland, Mass.; one sister, Mildred Esty, Groveland, Mass, 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was Tuesday, May 2 at the First Baptist Church in Stover, with Dr. James Henderson officiating.
A memorial service also will be Thursday, May 4 in Georgetown, Mass.
Interment of the cremated remains will be in the Groveland Cemetery, Groveland, Mass.
Local arrangements were under the direction of the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Versailles.
Emma C. (Kay) Hagewood
Emma C. (Kay) Hagewood, 83, Versailles, died Thursday, April 27, 2000, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City.
She was born Aug. 13, 1916, in Philadelphia, Penn., the daughter of Ferdinand George and Bertha Violet Wenzell Lentz.
On Oct. 5, 1940, in Reno, Nev., she married Sam R. Hagewood, who preceded her in death on May 3, 1997.
Mrs. Hagewood was a telephone switchboard operator for several years, a member of the Trinity Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #410 both in Versailles.
She is survived by several cousins and many friends.
Funeral services were Sunday, April 30 at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles, with the Rev. Charles R. Kellim officiating.
Lori Croy sang "How Great Thou Art" and "Serenaded by Angels," accompanied at the organ by Rachel Boatright.
Interment was in Greenmore Memorial Gardens in Barnett.
Casketbearers were Charles Whisler, Luke Campbell, Gary Patterson, Jim Wright, Dan Dalton and Steve Rhine.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Trinity Baptist Church.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.
Mrs. Elora J. Denker
Mrs. Elora J. Denker, 69, California, died Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2001 at University Hospital & Clinics-Columbia.
She was born July 14, 1931 in Cole Camp, a daughter of Hugo and Alma Harms Schnakenberg.
She was married July 9, 1955 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Cole Camp, to Robert H. Denker Sr., who survives at the home.
Mrs. Denker was a homemaker and was active in the community.
She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church where she served in the Ladies Aid, sang in the adult choir and taught Sunday school for many years.
She was baptized July 26, 1931 and confirmed into the Lutheran faith on May 14, 1944, both by the Rev. J. T. Roschke at St. John's Lutheran Church, Cole Camp.
She graduated from Cole Camp High School in 1949 and from Central Business College, Sedalia.
Also surviving is one son, Robert H. Denker Jr. with his wife, Barb, California; two daughters, Margaret Colletti with her husband, Chris, Wheaton, Ill., and Elizabeth Wheeler with her husband, Ron, of Lee's Summit; one sister, Rosella Schnakenberg, Cole Camp; eight grandchildren, Sam, Laura and Jessica Denker, Jonathan, Anna and Thomas Colletti and Mary and Peter Wheeler.
She was preceded in death by an infant sister.
Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 24 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with the Rev. Dr. Peter Kurowski officiating.
Burial was in St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery, California. Pallbearers were Charles Stock Jr., Eldon Schnakenberg, Melvin Schnakenberg, Jim Grannemann, Mike Grannemann and Dale Hodges.
Memorials are suggested to the St. Paul's Lutheran Scholarship Fund to assist seminary students, St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 207 North Owen Street, California, Mo. 65018, or to the Robert and Elora Denker Scholarship Fund in care of Norman Rohrbach, California High School.

Mrs. Mildred C. Figgins
Mrs. Mildred C. Figgins, 63, Strasburg, Ill. and formerly of Clarksburg, died Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2001, at Decatur Memorial Hospital in Decatur, Ill.
She was born May 14, 1937 in McKees Rock, Pa., a daughter of Patrick Joseph and Julia Mildred McMahon McGrath.
She was married Jan. 14, 1956 at the U.S. Naval Training Center in Bainbridge, Md. to William Eugene Figgins, who survives at the home.
Mrs. Figgins worked for Goober's in California for 7 1/2 years.
She was a Navy veteran and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #289, Strasburg, Ill.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Shelbyville, Ill.
Also surviving are two sons, William Figgins with his wife, Cathy, of Vandenburg AFB, Calif., and Robert Figgins with his wife, Cathy, of Ozark, Ark.; two daughters, Charlotte Heather with her husband, Mitchell, Clarksburg, and Eileen Coffelt, California; two sisters, Gemma Gogal of Harrison City, Pa., and Geraldine Prince, Bridgeville, Pa, 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.
The Mass of Christian Burial was held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Shelbyville.
The rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Howe & Yockey Funeral Home in Shelbyville.
Graveside services with military rites were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 25 at Annunciation Catholic Cemetery in California, with Msgr. Francis Gillgannon officiating.
Memorials may be made to the Catholic Charities or the donor's choice.
Local arrangements were under the direction of Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services in California.
Mrs. Verna McMillian
Mrs. Verna McMillian, 88, California, died Friday, Feb. 23, 2001, at Boone County Hospital in Columbia.
She was born Feb. 29, 1912, in Camden County, a daughter of Leonard and Milinda Baker Arnold.
She was married Dec. 24, 1936 in Camden County to Stanley McMillian who died March 1, 1987.
Mrs. McMillian and her husband owned and drove a schoolbus for the California School District and was later a sewer at California Manufacturing Company, retiring in 1975.
She was a member of Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America Local 782.
Surviving is one son, Kenneth McMillian with his wife, Betty, of California; two daughters, Verni Brownfield, Centertown, and Peggy Davison, Irvine, Calif.; five grandchildren, Chrissy Volkart, Patrick Fischer, David Fischer, Peggy Pierson and Joe McMillian, and seven great-grandchildren, Andy Korte, Emily, Olivia and Katie Volkart, Nick Fischer, Haley McMillian and Madison Pierson.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Shirley Fischer on Nov. 24, 1997; and four brothers, Hubert Arnold, Everett Arnold, Orville Arnold and John Arnold.
Services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 26 at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California, with the Rev. Frank Goosie officiating.
Burial was in Tipton Masonic Cemetery, Tipton.

Ora M. Avey
Ora M. Avey, 87, Versailles, died Wednesday evening, Feb. 21, 2001 at Golden Living Center in Stover.
He was born June 14, 1913 in Newton, Kan., a son of Carl and Mabel Williams Avey.
On Feb. 13, 1934 he married Frances Farnik who died on Nov. 10, 1998.
Mr. Avey was a retired farmer and operated Avey Mobile Home Court in Versailles.
Surviving are five sons, David Avey, Versailles, Larry Avey, Lincoln, Lavern Avey, Fortuna, Phillip Avey, Lincoln, and Ronnie Avey, Odessa; five daughters, Rose Bell, Raytown, Marcella Hunter, Tampa, Fla., Loretta Partain, Lancaster, Calif., Lois Marriott, Springfield, and Linda Koester, Stover; one sister, Effie Knoll, Brighton, Colo.; 22 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 24 at Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles with Pastor Jeanie Leeper officiating.
Robert D. Ross sang "Amazing Grace" and "Peace in the Valley" accompanied at the organ by Virginia Ross, and "Grandpa (Tell Me 'Bout the Good Old Days)" by the Judds was played.
Burial was in Versailles Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jeff Avey, Alan Avey, Larry Lyle Avey, Tim Avey, James Koester and Donnie Wolfe. Honorary pallbearers were Scott Marriott, Mike Bell, John Partain, Stuart Hunter, Chris Avey, Richie Wolfe, Matthew Avey and Willie Wolfe.
