Norma Taylor
Norma Lea Taylor, 86, Neosho, died at 8:20 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 7, 1999, at Medicalodge following a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Taylor was born April 5, 1912, in Campti, La., to Arthur Blythe Chestnut and Mary Alice (Stewart) Chestnut.
She came to Neosho in 1946 from Star City, Ark.
She was a registered nurse in private practice, a homemaker and mother.
She was a member of the First Christian Church, a longtime volunteer for the American Red Cross and a member of a Friday Bridge Club.
She married Dr. L. T. Taylor on May 12, 1934, in Campti, La.
He preceded her in death Sept. 17, 1985.
She is survived by her son, James "Jim" Edward Taylor and daughter, Cynthia "Cindy" Lee Norma, both of Neosho; four grandchildren, Jason Norman, Hailey Norma, Cynthia Goff, and Mary Jane Stead; and three great-grandchildren.
Services, under the direction of Clark Funeral Home, Neosho, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Clark Chapel of Memories with the Rev. Clement Graham officiating.
Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery, Exeter, Mo.
Friends may call Tuesday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and until service time on Wednesday, when the casket will be closed and remain closed.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in care of Clark Funeral Home, Neosho.

Elsie Mae Ruede
Elsie Mae Ruede, 81, Pineville, died Thursday, June 13, 2002, at 1:45 p.m. at Freeman Neosho Hospital after an illness.
Mrs. Ruede was born on Sept. 24, 1920, in Pineville to the late William Penn and Eva Lena (Roadarmer) Ruddick.
She lived all of her life in Pineville.
She was baptized in 1975 at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Jane.
She married Charles "Chart" Ruede in September 1935 in Pineville.
He died on Sept. 13, 1975.
She was also preceded in death by three sons, Bob Ruede, Olin Ruede, and Lavon Ruede; and one brother, Hugh Ruddick.
She is survived by two sons, Leroy Ruede, Pea Ridge, Ark., and Chuck Ruede, Bella Vista, Ark.; three daughters, Mae Sharp, Stella, Katherine Lauderdale, Goodman, and Norma Ruede of Nevada; 22 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 5 p.m. today at the Pineville Cemetery in Pineville.
The Rev. Leroy Ruede will officiate.

Eddie Lucille Roseberry
Eddie Lucille Roseberry died Thursday, Aug. 15, 2002, in Houston, Texas.
She was born May 12, 1915, in Granby to William E. and Eugenia Camerer Clark, the youngest of nine children.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Ernest M. Roseberry, whom she married on Feb. 22, 1938.
They moved to Houston in 1947 and in 1948, became lifetime members of Garden Oaks Baptist Church with four generations in attendance.
Mrs. Roseberry was successful in many business ventures.
She is survived by her daughter, Miriam Usry and husband Ronald Eugene; and her son Dick Roseberry and wife Barbara, all of Houston.
In addition, she leaves six grandchildren; Greg Usry and wife Sherri, Richard Usry and wife Lisa, all of Houston, Bruce Usry and wife Cheryl, Austin,
Jonathan Usry and wife Anna, Dallas, Michael Roseberry, Boulder and Melissa Roseberry, Houston; and five great-grandchildren, Cody and Travis Usry, Zachary and Elizabeth Usry and Anmanda Usry; and a sister, Stella Lashmett, Springfield, Mo.
Friends may call after 6 p.m. Friday at Pat H. Foley Funeral Home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Garden Oaks Baptist Church, 3206 North Shepherd, with Dr. Jeffery Rees officiating.
Interment will follow in Memorial Oaks Cemetery.

Beatrice Griffin
Beatrice Griffin, 78, Neosho, died at 5:50 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2002 at her home after a sudden illness.
Mrs. Griffin was born Dec. 23, 1923 in Cassville to Charles Elliott and Lydia (Smith) Rainwater.
She was a homemaker, wife and mother.
She taught elementary school for a brief time in the 1940's.
She moved to Neosho in 1955 from Anderson.
She married James Griffin on June 7, 1947 in Anderson.
He preceded her in death Nov. 12, 1993.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Easter Sue and Steve Chapman, Neosho; and one grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Ryan and Michelle Chapman.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the IOOF Cemetery in Neosho with Martin Crews officiating.
Nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Viewing will be 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday with the family receiving friends at the funeral home from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday evening.
Services are under the directions of Clark Funeral Home, Neosho.

Nellie Miller
Nellie Parsada Miller died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2003, at Medicalodge of Neosho.
She was born Nov. 28, 1908, at Garfield, Ark., to James Presley and Mildred Fletcher Presley.
The family moved from Garfield to Washburn then to Ritchey.
She received her education in the rural Ritchey area.
She married Clarence A. Douthitt in November 1922.
To this union, one daughter, Ada Marie, was born.
Nellie was a good wife, mother and homemaker, assisting her husband, Clarence, with farming in the Ritchey area where they made their home.
Later, they went into business with Clarence's brother Tommy, and manged the Independent Ice Co., in Neosho.
Then, in the mid '40s they sold the ice company and purchased a farm in McDonald County where they lived until 1956 when they sold this farm and purchased a farm near Granby, living there until Clarence preceded her in death March 27, 1961.
She then moved to the rural Sarcoxie area, and married Henry C. Miller on Oct. 8, 1965.
He also preceded her in death on Sept. 11, 1981, plus two brothers, two sisters and one great-grandson.
After the death of her first husband, she took the position of cook and girls' dean of the Independence, Kan. Bible School during the years of 1963 through 1965.
In 1978, she became a charter member of the Wesleyan Holiness Alliance Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Ada, and son-in-law, Allen Dodson, Neosho; three grandchildren, Barbara and husband, Jimmy Littlefield, Neosho, Raymond and wife, Carolyn Dodson, Wichita, and Donna and husband, Donald Hazelwood, Bartelsville, Okla.; seven great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Pearl Jackson and Hattie Turner, both of Sarcoxie, and Opal Brigman, Granby.
She was a member of, and faithfully attended the Fire Baptized Holiness Churches of Ritchey and Mt. Grove.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Housh Funeral Home, Sarcoxie.
Don Hazelwood, Danny Perryman, and Gary Filsinger, pastors, will officiate.
Burial will be in Newtonia IOOF Cemetery, Newtonia.
Arrangements are under the direction of Housh Funeral Home, Sarcoxie, Mo.

George Johns
George Noah Johns, 75, Neosho, died at 11:10 a.m. Thursday, April 17, 2003, at his home following a long illness.
Mr. Johns was born Nov. 17, 1928, in Dover, Fla., to George Lee and Leta (Parker) Johns.
He worked as an electrical contractor for Rockwell International Aircraft Manufacturing in California.
He then worked for Alpha-Beta Food Chain and retired in 1992.
He moved to Neosho from California in 1978 and was a member of the Neosho Apostolic Church.
He was also a 50-year member of the Masons and a past Master of the Granby lodge.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
He and the former Delores Bieker were married July 24, 1948, in Long Beach, Calif. She survives.
Additional survivors include four children, Rosemary Ludwig, Ontario, Calif., Pat Wanda Mohling, Neosho, George Lee Johns, Chino, Calif., and Kimberly Johns, Neosho; his mother, Leta Johns; three grandchildren, Shannon Boyer, Steffany Perry and Derryk Ludwig; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father; two brothers; and one sister.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Clark Chapel of Memories, Neosho with Bro. C.R. Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery, Neosho, and Tom Mohling, Hugh Mohling, Justin Boyer, Kurt Ludwig, Derryk Ludwig, George Johns, and Gene Bieker will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. that evening.
Contributions in memory of Mr. Johns may be made to the American Heart Association in care of Clark Funeral Home, P.O. Box 66, Neosho, 64850.
Arrangements are under the direction of Clark Funeral Home, Neosho.

Linda Christensen
Linda Marie Christensen, 57, Fairview, died at 7:35 a.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2003, at an area hospital, following a five-month illness.
She was born April 16, 1946, in Iowa City, Iowa, to Lloyd Elmer and Lillian Marie (Rife) Wood.
She moved to Fairview from Grove, Okla., in 1998.
She was a homemaker and operator of a construction excavation company.
She was a member of the First Christian Church in Grove, Okla.
She is survived by two sons, Bill Christensen and Rodney Christensen, both of Fairview; two brothers, Keith Wood, Tipton, Iowa and Jerry Wood, Atlissa, Iowa; one sister, Beverly Yerington, Tipton, Iowa; six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Sanders on Oct. 23, 1997, and by a brother, Gary Wood.
Services were held Thursday at the First Chrisitan Church in Grove with Dr. Wayne Shaw officiating.
Burial followed at Oakwood Cemetery, southwest of Neosho.
Arrangements under the direction of Clark Funeral Home, Neosho.
