Gladys Edgington Byham, died in San Antonio, Texas, on Friday, Sept. 26, 2003.
She was born Feb. 4, 1906, in Alamogordo, N.M.
She was the last surviving child of Nellie Johnson of Colorado and Col. John E. Edginton of Texas, who was second President of the New Mexico Military Institute in Roswell.
She is survived by a daughter, Florence May Byham Weinberg and a number of nieces, grandnieces, and nephews.
Her husband, Steven H. Byham of Kane, Pa., died in 1956 of injuries resulting from World War II.
Mrs. Byham was an educator all her life, beginning with a 22-year long career as a grammar school teacher in New Mexico and Arkansas, then, upon obtaining her MA in Library Science, she spent another 26 years as head librarian of Highland College, Kan. and Crowder College, Mo. where she created and built up the library.
She retired to an eighty-nine acre farm in Anderson in 1974, and moved to San Antonio in 1989.
She became Deacon of the First Presbyterian Church in Neosho and was active as long as possible in John Calvin Presbyterian Church in San Antonio.
She was a resident of Golden Manor Jewish Home for the Aged.
Services will be Wednesday at 4 p.m. in Porter Loring Chapel with the Rev. Macolm McQueen officiating.
Interment will be in Cloudcroft, New Mexico at a later date.

Francico Gonzalez
Francico Gonzalez, 52, Neosho, died at 11:58 a.m. Friday, Jan. 30, 2004, at Freeman Neosho ER, following a sudden illness.
Mr. Gonzalez was born Jan. 7, 1950, in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico, and moved to the Neosho area six years ago.
He worked at the Ozark Hatchery in Neosho and was a Christian.
He is survived by his wife, Maria Gudalupe Rodriguez Silva Gonzalez, of the home; two sons, David Ezequiel Salinas Rodriguez and Luis Alfonso Salinas Rodriguez; two daughters, Irma Salinas Rodriguez and Laura Guadalupe Salinas Rodriguez; six brothers, Juan Salinas Gonzalez, Gilberto Tovar Guzman, Enrique Cruz Gonzalez, Carlos Rito Cruz, Guillemo Cruz and Santiago Cruz; two sisters, Graciela Salinas Gonzalez and Enriqueta Cruz; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Clark Funeral Home Chapel, Neosho.
Interment will follow at IOOF Cemetery, Neosho.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. today.
Arrangements are under the direction of Clark Funeral Home, Neosho.
Gay Ross
Gay Ross, 69, Neosho, died Friday evening, June 14, 2002, at her home.
Mrs. Ross was born April 28, 1933, in Rocky Ford, Colo., to Elbert and Helen (Ritchey) Saunders.
She worked for many years as city clerk in Holcomb, Kan.
She also worked as secretary for a feed company and was a homemaker.
She moved to Neosho 10 years ago from Holcomb.
She was a member of the Neosho United Methodist Church.
She married Arlen Ross on Dec. 20, 1950, and he survives.
Additional survivors include five daughters, Gwendolyn Hibler, Montazuma, Kan., Pamela Shirar, Hanover Park, Ill., Jerri Reese, Neosho, Pattie Welch, Diamond, and Gloria Jean Wortman, Neosho; a sister, Gwendolyn Gatto, Denver, Colo; 19 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Neosho United Methodist Church with the Rev. Gene Cole and Dr. Jerry Seigel officiating.
Following the services the family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall.
The body has been taken for cremation.

Joseph Freeman
Joseph Workman Freeman, 77, Pineville, died Friday, Oct., 25, 2002, at 9:30 a.m. at Medicalodge of Neosho in Neosho, after an illness.
Mr. Freeman was born on Sept. 17, 1925 in Bartlesville, Okla., to John Fred and Clara Maud (Beamer) Freeman.
He had lived in Pineville for 19 years coming from Powell, Wy.
He was a member of the Pineville United Methodist Church, where he had served as a trustee.
He graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1949 with a degree in business.
He served in the United States Navy during World War II.
He retired from Amoco Oil Company in 1983.
He married Doris Jeanne Maritt on Sept. 1, 1946 in Seminole, Okla.
She survives of the home in Pineville.
Additional survivors include one son John Jeffrey Freeman, Broken Arrow, Okla.; one daughter, Janet Sue Freeman, Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.; two granddaughters, Gayle Sitek, Lewisville, Texas and Carrie Freeman, Tulsa, Okla.
Cremation will be done by Bella Vista Crematory in Bella Vista, Ark.
A memorial service for Mr. Freeman will be held at Pineville United Methodist Church in Pineville on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m.
The Rev. Doris Schlessman will officiate.

Glenn Butts
Glenn O. Butts, 80, Neosho, died Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2002, at St. Johns Regional Medical Center, following a short illness.
Mr. Butts was born Sept. 18, 1922, in Neosho and had lived here all of his life.
He worked as a small engine repairman for Maytag and Frye and Grey, he owned Glen's small engine repair.
He was a member of the Gospel Lighthouse.
Glen served in the Army during World War II and was a recipient of the Purple Heart medal.
He married Betty Dowd on Aug. 23, 1980 in Miami, Okla.
She survives.
Additional survivors include two sons, Ted Butts, Neosho and Darrell Butts, Joplin; two sisters, Margaret Fredrick, Claremore, Okla. and Beulah Fredrick, Okmulgee, Okla.; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Woodard-Freund-Thompson Funeral Home.
The Rev. Myrna Marble will officiate.
Burial will be in the Hazel Green Cemetery near Boulder City.
Pallbearers will be Ted Butts, Darrell Butts, Rodney Butts, Roger Dowd, Larry Todd, and Harry Sprenkle.

Lola Whitchurch
Lola Clarissa Whitchurch, 95, Granby, died at 6:25 p.m. Monday, Feb. 17, 2003, at Freeman Neosho Hospital after a short illness.
Mrs. Whitchurch was born on June 5, 1907, to Charlie and Donia (Mateer) Hubbard.
She was a lifelong area resident.
She had made a lifelong commitment to be an elementary school teacher.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Daughters of the American Revolution, Retired Teachers Association.
Mrs. Whitchurch was preceded in death by one daughter, Donna Jane Whitchurch on June 11, 2002, as well as two brothers, Milford and Carl Hubbard.
She is survived by many loving cousins.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Clark Funeral Home, Granby.
Officiating will be the Rev. Gloria Gold.
Burial will be in the Diamond Cemetery under the direction of Clark Funeral Home, Granby, Mo.
Rosetta Wolfinbarger
Rosetta Wolfinbarger, 82, Miami, Okla, died Saturday, Oct. 4, 2003, at her home after an illness.
She was born March 17, 1921, in Wyandotte, Okla,. to W.R. and Pearl Mathis Cunningham.
She lived in Miami moving from Neosho where she had lived for 40 years before moving from Miami.
She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Neosho.
She married Lloyd Wolfinbarger at Neosho in 1938 and he survives of the home in Miami.
Additional survivors include one son, Dr. Lloyd Wolfinbarger, Jr., Norfolk, Va.; a daughter, Sally Rollins, Miami, Okla.; one brother, Clete Cunningham, Reno, Nevada; three grandchildren: Laura Ransbottom,Chuck Rollins, and Rob Rollins; four great-grandchildren: Cory Rollins, Megan Blankenship, Lauren Blankenship and Erica Ransbottom.
Services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Miami, Okla.
Interment will be in Council House Cemetery, northeast of Grove, Okla.
Pallbearers will be Jim Ransbottom, Rick Patterson, Glen Wolfinbarger, Cory Rollins, Rob Rollins and Chuck Rollins.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Miami.
