Charles L. "Pete" Bauman of Ste. Genevieve, died Friday, Feb. 7, 2003 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Crystal City.
He was 68.
He was born May 18, 1934 in Ste. Genevieve, the son of the late Edwin L. and Wilma L. (Uding) Bauman.
He was married May 21, 1955 to Lucille (Zahner) "Lu" Bauman in St. Rose of Lima Church in Silver Lake, who survives in Ste. Genevieve.
Other survivors include two sons, Tim Bauman of Ste. Genevieve and Randy Bauman of St. Louis; two daughters, Terry (Paul) Bieller of Bloomsdale and Jeannie Bauman of Ste. Genevieve; five sisters, Janet (Bill) Govreau of Ormond Beach, FL, Rosalie (Frank) Arnold of Ste. Genevieve, Marilyn (Curt) Basler of Ste. Genevieve, Brenda (Dick) Holst of Bloomsdale, and Pat (Joe) Lurk of Ste. Genevieve; and four grandchildren, Julie Beiller, Erin Beiller, Jacke Bauman, and Michael Bauman.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Michael Bauman.
Mr. Bauman was the president of Bauman Oil and Auto Parts.
He was a member and past Grand Knight of Ste. Genevieve Knights of Columbus Council 1037.
He was a member of Ste. Genevieve 4th Degree Assembly Knights of Columbus, Ste. Genevieve Elks, Ste. Genevieve Lion's Club, Ste. Genevieve Chamber of Commerce (past president), the New Bourbon Port Authority, and the Jour de Fete Committee (past president).
He was a board member of Union Planters Bank in Ste. Genevieve.
He was a member of River Heritage, Friends of the Museum, and Ste. Genevieve Golf Club.
The family prefers memorials be made to Masses, Ste. Genevieve Museum, or the Michael Bauman Scholarship Fund.
The funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 10 at the Church of Ste. Genevieve, with the Rev. John Deken officiating.
Burial was in Valle Spring Cemetery in Ste. Genevieve.

Alfonso Nunez Lopez
Alfonso Nunez Lopez of Perryville, formerly of Lake St. Louis, died Tuesday, May 23, 2000 at his residence.
He was 76.
He was born March 26, 1924 in Pasadena, Calif., the son of the late Anastacio and Rosa (Nunez) Lopez.
He was married to Frances Lopez who preceded him in death.
Survivors include three sons, Michael Lopez of Springfield, and Henry Lopez and David Lopez both of Perryville; one daughter, Rose Lopez of Lake St. Louis; and three sisters, Tila Leal, Jessie Frizzell, and Lupe Prieto all of Pasadena, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and one sister, Rose Minjarez.
Mr. Lopez was a Veteran of World War II, Korea, and Viet Nam.
He retired from the Navy as an aviator in 1964 after serving 21 years.
He was a member of the VFW post of Perryville, Lake St. Louis American Legion Post #632, and Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Dardenne.

Funeral services were held at 9 a.m. Friday, May 26 at Immaculate Conception Church in Dardenne with the Rev. Robert Ryker officiating.
Burial was in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Dardenne.

Dora E. Buchheit
Dora Emma (Unterreiner) Buchheit of Perryville, died Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2000 at Perry County Nursing Home.
She was 90.
She was born Nov. 4, 1909 in Biehle, the daughter of the late Frank and Theresa (Kirn) Unterreiner.
She was married Sept. 9, 1930 to Alphonse G. Buchheit who preceded her in death March 19, 1966
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Clyde C. (Geri) Buchheit and Albert J. (Pat) Buchheit both of Perryville; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Dorothy F. (Schott) Alkemeyer and the late Bill Alkemeyer of Perryville; Helen J. and Richard Rolfing Sr. of St. Peters; and Ann M. and Art Bodenstein of Gordonville; one brother, Raymond Unterreiner of Perryville; two sisters, Lorene Horschman and Frances Courtois both of Perryville; 15 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Edgar Unterreiner and Charles Unterreiner; two sisters, Josephine Besand and Irene Besand; and two grandsons, Michael Rolfing and Danny Schott.
Mrs. Buchheit worked at the Shoe Factory in her earlier years and was a home maker later.
She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 7 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville with the Rev. Kevin Fausz, C.M. officiating. Burial was in the Mount Hope Cemetery.

Eva "Florence" Coffey
Eva "Florence" Coffey formerly of Yount, died at Hannibal Regional Hospital, Friday, Dec. 22, 2000.
She was 81.
She was born Sept. 10, 1919 in Yount, daughter of the late Leo P. and Ruth Ann (Harris) Thompson.
She was married Nov. 26, 1940 to Joseph E. Coffey.
Survivors include four daughters, Marie Kurz of Vandalia; Lorretta Zimmerman of Quincy, Ill.; Christine Fulton of Danville, Ill.; and Carol Culp of Hannibal; five sons, Bill Coffey, Paul Coffey, Kevin Coffey, and Steven Coffey all of Hannibal; and Jerome Coffey of Ardmore, Okla.; five brothers, Ralph Thompson, Ray Thompson, Lester Thompson, and Leo "Duke" Thompson all of Perryville; and Leonard Thompson of Waxahachie, Texas; two sisters, Ruby "Leona" Johnson of Denison, Texas and Ruth Ann Dodds of Perryville; 34 grandchildren; and 40 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Joe Coffey Jr.; three brothers, Richard Thompson, Floyd Thompson, and Tommy Thompson; one sister, Sarah "Lillian" Thompson; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Mrs. Coffey was a home maker and Catholic by faith.
The family prefers memorials to the American Red Cross.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec., 26, at James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal.

Burial was at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
Harold Hitt
Harold Cooper Hitt of Uniontown, died Monday, Feb. 5, 2001 at his home in Uniontown.
He was 80.
He was born Jan. 6, 1921 in Cape County.
He was married Nov. 23, 1976 in Cape County to Mildred (Ackman) Hitt, who survives in Uniontown.
Other survivors include one son and one daughter, Ron (Linda) Hitt and Bonnie (Keith) Blechle both of Jackson; two stepchildren, Marcella (Bill) Meyer of Perry County and Marvin (Sharon) McMillan of Friedheim; one brother, John Hitt of Hunting Beach, Calif.; four grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and one sister.
Mr. Hitt was a carpenter for many years and retired from maintenance at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was a member of the Methodist Church in Gordonville.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today, Tuesday, Feb. 6 at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.
Funeral services will be held in the afternoon Wednesday, Feb. 7 at McCombs Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Winningham officiating.
Burial will be at Russell Heights in Jackson.

Mildred A. Fisher
Mildred A. (Yount) Fisher of Collinsville, Ill., died Thursday, April 5, 2001 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Ill.
She was 77.
She was born Nov. 20, 1923 in Bollinger County, the daughter of the late Albert and Myrtle Anna (Conrad) Yount.
She was married to Leo Wolf, who preceded her in death. She was also married to Frank Fisher, who preceded her in death.
Survivors include three sisters, Mary Kathryn Ochs and Alice June Stark, both of Perryville, and Ruth Smith of Camdenton; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; two sisters, Ollie Yount and Lulu Glass; and one brother, Everett Yount.
Mrs. Fisher worked at Niedringhaus Bottling Company in Earth City, Bridgeton.
She was a member of the Lutheran Faith.

Wilma F. Blunt
Wilma Fernita (Nesbit) Blunt of Perryville, died Saturday, June 16, 2001 at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Perryville.
She was 80.
She was born Aug. 18, 1920 in Edwardsville, Ill., the daughter of the late Arbie and Minnie A. (Kline) Nesbit.
She was married Sept. 23, 1954 in St. Louis, to James C. "Clark" Blunt, who survives in Perryville.
Other survivors include one daughter, Vivian (Joseph) Shea of Perryville; six grandchildren, Therese (Mark) Unverferth, Maureen (Jeff) Schroeder, Kathryn (Randy) Wibbenmeyer, Louise (Robert) Hayden, Rebecca Shea, and George (Tanya) Shea; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.
Mrs. Blunt was a home-maker.
She and her husband owned and operated Blunt's Groceries in Steelville for several years before moving to Perryville.
She was a member of United Methodist Church, Perry County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, The Quiltmakers Club, and volunteered at the Regional Family Crisis Center in Perryville.
The funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 20, at the United Methodist Church in Perryville with the Rev. Michael Kelpe officiating. Burial was in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis. Pall-bearers were George Shea, Cole Schroeder, Dane Schroeder, Ryan Shea, Jesse Unverferth, and Peter Unverferth.
