Edgar Joseph Feltz of Perryville, died Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2001 at Perry County Nursing Home in Perryville.
He was 89.
He was born Sept. 4, 1912 in Lithium, the son of the late Benjamin Harrison and Adeline (Vessels) Feltz.
He was married Oct. 14, 1940 to Helen M. (Nesslein) Feltz, who survives in Perryville.
The couple was married for 61 years.
Other survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Shirley Feltz of Fredericktown; Keith and Angela Feltz of Maryville, Tenn.; and Kevin and Jean Feltz of Columbia; one brother and three sisters, E. V. "Shorty" Feltz of Sereno, Bernadine Hagan of St. Louis, Dolly Mae Welker of Perryville, and Delores Dunker of Sereno; six grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Michael Feltz; one brother, Ivan Feltz; and three sisters, Bernice Hilderbrand, Mildred Wade, and Stella Pingel.
Mr. Feltz was a retired self-employed painter and custodian at Bois Brule School District 32.
He was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Sereno.
He graduated as valedictorian in 1931 from Perryville High School.
He was a past member of the Holy Name Society and past School Board Member of District 32.
The family prefers memorials to be made to Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Sereno.
Visitation will be held from 5-9 p.m. today, Thursday, Nov. 22 at Young & Sons Chapel in Perryville and again from 6:30-9:20 a.m. Friday, Nov. 23. There will be a Parish Wake service at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 22.
The funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 23 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Sereno with the Rev. Francis Agnew, C.M. officiating.
Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Donald P. Esselman
Donald Paul Esselman of Chester, Ill., died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2001 at Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis.
He was 68.
He was born March 27, 1933 in McBride, the son of the late Patrick Lewis and Lillian (Anderson) Esselman.
He was married July 2, 1955 to Lena (Moranville) Esselman, who survives in Chester, Ill.
Other survivors include one son, Kevin Esselman of Perryville; three daughters, Trina Esselman Milam of Chester, Ill., Kim Smith of Sparta, Ill., and Renee Laurent of Fults, Ill.; one brother, Chalmer "Jim" Esselman of Owensville; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, and two sisters.
Mr. Esselman served in the Navy.
He was a maintenance worker at Sparta Printing.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Chester, Ill., life member of Chester VFW and Knights of Columbus.
The family prefers memorials to be made to Masses or St. Mary's School.
The funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 13 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Chester, Ill., with the Rev. Dennis Schaefer officiating. Burial was in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.

Rosella L. (Bell) Boxdorfer
Rosella L. (Bell) Boxdorfer of Crystal City, formerly of Perryville, died Saturday, April 6, 2002 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital.
She was 89.
She was born May 22, 1912 in Berwick, Ill., the daughter of the late Orville I. and Helena (Bense) Bell.
She was married Jan. 5, 1931 to Edwin W. Boxdorfer, who preceded her in death March 6, 1979.
Survivors include one son, Roy Lee H. Boxdorfer of Festus; one sister, Beulah Pass of Placerville, Calif.; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Melvin Boxdorfer; one infant son, Edwin Boxdorfer, Jr.; and two brothers, John Bell and Harley Bell.
Mrs. Boxdorfer worked in the laundry room at Perry County Memorial Hospital and housekeeping.
She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Crystal City and a former member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville.
The family prefers memorials to be made to Immanuel Lutheran Building Fund in Crystal City or Perryville.
The funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 9 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville with the Rev. Craig Otto officiating.
Burial was in the church cemetery.

Sharon K. (Schaaf) Donley of Petersburg, Ill., died Tuesday, June 11, 2002 at her home.
She was 55.
She was born Dec. 26, 1946 in Ste. Genevieve, the daughter of the late Alvin W. and Mary Naomi (Tucker) Schaaf.
She was married July 13, 1983 in St. Louis County, to Darrell W. Donley, who survives in Petersburg, Ill.
Other survivors include two daughters, Terri (Dan) Randle of Petersburg, and Kristen (Matthew) Bell of Wichita, Kan.; two sons, Dewayne (Evalyn) Donley of Florissant, and Darren Donley of Osage Beach; four brothers and one sister, Michael (Nancy) Schaaf of St. Charles, Gail (Larry) Duvall, Gary (Tami) Schaaf, and Danny (Denise) Schaaf, all of Perryville, and Kenny (Gina) Schaaf of Seneca, S.C.; one sister-in-law, Judy Schaaf of Ironton; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two infant sisters, and one brother, Dennis "Wayne" Schaaf.
Mrs. Donley was a member of Petersburg Foursquare Church in Petersburg, Ill. She was active with Menard Caring.

Dale Joseph Schindler of Perryville, died Thursday, Aug. 1, 2002 at his home.
He was 58.
He was born Aug. 15, 1943 in Perry County, the son of Iva Lee (Elder) Schindler of Perryville, and the late Leslie J. Schindler.
Other survivors include one daughter, Debbie A. Schindler of Arnold; one brother, James Schindler of Perryville; and two sisters; Mary Ann Jennings of Perryville, and Patricia Young of Littleton, Colo.
He was preceded in death by his father and one brother.
Mr. Schindler was an auto mechanic.
He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville.
The family prefers memorials be sent to Masses, St. Vincent Schools or the American Cancer Society.

Vernon J. Brown
Vernon J. Brown of Perryville, died Monday, Oct. 14, 2002 at Perry County Nursing Home in Perryville.
He was 81.
He was born Sept. 12, 1921 in Perry County, the son of the late Louis and Genevieve (Friedman) Brown.
Survivors include two brothers, Eugene L. Brown of Perryville and Louis N. Brown of Richmond Heights; two sisters, Aurelia Mattingly of Brewer and Jeanette Maxfield of Denver, CO; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and one sister.
Mr. Brown was a farmer.
The funeral Mass was held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 18 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville, with the Rev. Kevin P. Fausz, C.M. officiating.
Burial was in St. Boniface Cemetery.

Joyce Joan (Schindler) Ernst of Sikeston, died Monday, Dec. 2, 2002 at Clearview Nursing Center in Sikeston.
She was 81.
She was born June 26, 1921 in St. Louis, the daughter of the late Felix A. and Zita M. (Farrar) Schindler.
She was married July 27, 1946 in Perryville, to Elmer Louis Ernst, who preceded her in death June 27, 1984.
Survivors include two daughters, Sue Speakman of Sikeston, and Deborah McCann of Cape Girardeau; one sister, Jerry Ann Dixon of Cape Girardeau; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
Mrs. Ernst was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Sikeston, Daughters of Isabella, and Legion of Mary.
The funeral Mass was held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 5 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Sikeston, with the Rev. Stephen Schneider officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.
