Ray "Bogie" Bodenschatz of Perryville, died Tuesday, June 12, 2001 at St. Lukes West Hospital in St. Louis County.
He was 66.
He was born Nov. 24, 1934 in Belgique, the son of the late Fred W. and Lydia (Verseman) Bodenschatz.
He was married July 9, 1955 to June A. (Hagan) Bodenschatz, who survives in Perryville.
Other survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law and two daughters and sons-in-law, Randy (Connie) Bodenschatz of St. Charles; Tammy (Randy) Richardet of Perryville; Rick (Sheila) Bodenschatz of Wildwood; Tina (Mark) Hadler of Ellisville; and Roger (Lori) Bodenschatz of Jefferson City; three sisters and two brothers, Leona Dollard of St. Louis; Cordelia "Dale" Darcy of Leslie; Viola Aronnson of St. Louis; Fred Bodenschatz Jr. of Perryville; and Robert Bodenschatz of House Springs; and 11 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one infant brother, Richard Bodenschatz.
Mr. Bodenschatz retired from the National Guard as a Sergeant Major.
He was a retired heavy equipment operator with Bloomsdale Excavating.
He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville, Local 513 Hoisting Engineers Union, and American Legion Booster.
The family prefers memorials to be made to the Veteran Home in Cape Girardeau, Sunday Radio Broadcast, or charity of your choice.
The funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 16 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville with the Rev. Matthew Marks officiating.
Burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery in Perryville.

Goldie V. (Reiss) Mangels of Perryville, died Monday, July 30, 2001 at St. John's Hospital in Washington, Mo.
She was 78.
She was born Sept. 12, 1922 in Perry County, the daughter of the late John and Ena Sarah (Sanford) Reiss.
She was married April 22, 1941 to Melvin Mangels, who preceded her in death March 15, 1999.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law and one daughter, Dennis (Donna) Mangels of Washington, Mo. and Charlotte Satter of Cape Girardeau; one sister and one brother, Elsie Valleroy of Perryville and William "Roy" Reiss of St. Louis; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She wa preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, and two sisters.
Mrs. Mangels was a retired cashier.
She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.
The family prefers memorials to be made to the American Cancer Society.
The funeral service was held Thursday, Aug. 2 at 10 a.m. at Young & Sons Chapel in Perryville with the Rev. Craig Otto officiating.
Burial was in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.

Elda C. Mangels
Elda C. (Kasten) Mangels of Farrar, died Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2001 at Perry County Memorial Hospital Emergency Room.
She was 76.
She was born Sept. 28, 1925 in Uniontown, the daughter of the late Karl 'Charles' and Elsa (Bultmann) Kasten.
She was married Nov. 24, 1946 to Walter E. Mangels of Farrar, who survives.
Other survivors include one son and four daughters, Lowell (Diane) Mangels of Friedheim; Marci (Kenneth) Preusser of Altenburg; Kris (Steve) Wille of Jackson; Karen Lyon of St. Louis; and Patty (Paul) Callier of Farrar; one brother, Paul Kasten of Friedenburg; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Charles; and one brother, Ernst Kasten.
Mrs. Mangels was a homemaker and she was employed for 27 years in the Dietary Department at Perry County Nursing Home.
She was a member of Salem Senior Servants and Salem Lutheran Church in Farrar, Salem Ladies Aid, Lutheran Home Auxiliary, L.W.M.L and Farrar Extension Club.
The family prefers memorials to be made to the Salem School Building Fund or Lutheran Hour Ministries.
Visitation will be today, Thursday, Nov. 22 at Young & Sons Chapel in Perryville from 4-9 p.m. and Friday, Nov. 23 from 6:30 a.m.-8 a.m.
The funeral service will be Friday, Nov. 23 at 10 a.m. at the Salem Lutheran Church in Farrar with the Rev. Robert Schneider officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Kenneth Cole Hayden
Kenneth Cole Hayden, the son of Craig and Debbie (Hoehn) Hayden of Perryville, was born and died Friday, Dec. 14, 2001 at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Other survivors include one sister, Brooke E. Hayden of the home; maternal grandmother, Doris Hoehn; paternal grandmother, Ruth Hayden; and maternal great-grandparents, Floyd and Irene Hoehn, all of Perryville.
Graveside services were held at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16 at Mount Hope Cemetery in Perryville with the Rev. Kevin P. Fausz, C.M. officiating.

Lester Clements
Lester Wayne Clements of Montgomery, AL, died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2003, in a motorcycle accident.
He was 48.
He was born Sept. 8, 1954 in Fort Riley, KS, the son of Sylvester William Clements of Lake Charles, and Joanne (Clements) Perry of Leesville, LA, both formerly of Biehle.
He was married to Claire Clements, who survives in Montgomery, AL.
Other survivors include his step-mother, Mrs. Sylvester Clements; one daughter, LesLee Ann Jones of El Dorado, AR; one son, Lester Wayne Clements II of Conway, AR; two step-sons, Bryan Cohn and Benjamin Cohn, both of Montgomery, AL; one granddaughter, Savannah Michelle Jones of El Dorado, AR; one sister, Pamela Boswell of Lake Charles; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Roger William Clements.
Mr. Clements was vice president of human resources at Sylvest Farms.
He was a member of Frazier Memorial United Methodist Church and the Hogg of Montgomery Harley-Davidson Club.

Norma J. Blandford
Norma J. Blandford of Perryville, died Sunday, May 14, 2000 at her home. She was 70.
She was born Aug. 22, 1929 in Perry County (McBride), the daughter of the late Patrick and Lillian (Anderson) Esselman.
She was married May 26, 1953, to Chalmer D. Blandford who survives.
Other survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Julia Blandford and Roger and Mary Blandford all of Perryville; one daughter and son-in-law, Penny and Scott Williams of Cape Girardeau; three brothers, Chalmer Esselman of Owensville, George Esselman of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Donald Esselman of Chester, Ill.; and three grandchildren, Jason Blandford, Jodi Blandford, and Holly Blandford all of Perryville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Frieda Kahmke; four brothers, Merlin Esselman, Ralph Esselman, Clinton Esselman, and Gene Esselman; and one grandson, Matthew.
Mrs. Blandford was a retired stitcher for International Shoe and Prince Gardner.
She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville.
The family prefers memorials to be made to St. Vincent Church Remodeling, Masses or the Special Olympics.
Visitation will also be Tuesday, May 16 from 6:30 to 9:40 a.m. at Young & Sons Chapel.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville with the Rev. Kevin Fausz officiating.
