Connie Sue (Ruessler) Gibbar of Perryville, died Saturday, Jan. 24, 2004 in an automobile accident in rural Perry County.
She was 49.
She was born Dec. 30, 1954 in Perryville, the daughter of the late Fred and Lorine (Pecaut) Ruessler.
She was married Aug. 24, 1974 in Perryville, to Raymond Charles Gibbar, who survives in Perryville.
Other survivors include two daughters, Nichole (Chad) Waldrop of Arnold, and Sarah Gibbar of the home; two brothers, Daniel Ruessler and Bob (Connie) Ruessler, both of Perryville; three sisters, Judith (Don) Seabaugh of Jackson, Kay (Kenny) Robins of Marble Hill, and Margie (Glen) Tarillion of Perryville; and one grandson, Seth Joseph Gibbar.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Timothy C. Gibbar.
Mrs. Gibbar was a crew leader at Falcon Foam (N.P.S. Corporation) in Perryville.
She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.
Memorials are preferred to family choice.
The funeral Mass was held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 29 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville, with the Rev. Kevin P. Fausz, C.M., officiating.
Burial was in St. Rose of Lima Cemetery at Silver Lake.

Sr. Flora Schnurbusch
Sr. Flora Frances Schnurbusch, F.S.M., of Richmond Heights, died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2004 at the Franciscan Sisters of Mary Convent in Richmond Heights.
She was 90.
She was born Oct. 30, 1913 at Apple Creek, the daughter of the late August F. and Theresa F. (Leible) Schnurbusch.
Survivors include five sister, Lorine Buchheit of Perryville, Verna Buchheit of O'Fallon, and Gertrude Nanney, Esther Ochs, and Margaret Renaud, all of St. Louis; and one brother, Everett Schnurbusch of Perryville; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Sr. Schnurbusch joined the congregation now known as the Franciscan Sisters of Mary in 1936 and professed her final vows in 1941.
She ministered as the congregation's assistant novice mistress for 11 years until she transferred to laundry service at St. Mary's Hospital Medical Center in Madison, Wis., and then in the same position at St. Joseph Health Center in St. Charles until 1969.
At that time she was appointed executive director of St. Mary of the Angels Convent.
She became the executive housekeeper in 1973 until her retirement in December 1994.

The funeral Mass was held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28 at St. Mary of the Angels Chapel.

Gladys Majors
Gladys Marie (Hudson) Majors of Arnold, died Sunday, Jan. 25, 2004 at Woodland Manor in Arnold.
She was 76.
She was born Feb. 25, 1927 in Perryville, the daughter of the late Prince and Ida (Reddick) Hudson.
She was married in 1953 to Thomas Troy Majors, who preceded her in death in 1985.
Survivors include one son, David Smith of St. Louis; four daughters, Bonnie Moltmann, Paula Brooks, Phyllis Paulson, and Sharon Boitano, all of St. Louis; 10 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and one son, Earl A. Smith Jr.

The funeral service was held at 12 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28 at the Chapel of John L. Ziegenhein & Sons Funeral Home in St. Louis, with the Rev. William Simmons officiating.

Laverne Basler
Laverne L. (Heck) Basler of Ste. Genevieve, died Sunday, Jan. 25, 2004 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital.
She was 82.
She was born Feb. 8, 1921 in Ste. Genevieve, the daughter of the late John and Anna (Schmeider) Heck.
She was to Francis Basler, who survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Terry (Luanne) Basler of Ste. Genevieve, and Leon Basler of Bismarck, N.D.; three sisters, Leona Graham, Anna Heck, and Vernetta Heck, all of Perryville; one brother, Vernon (Mary) Heck of St. Louis; two sister-in-laws, Melda Heck and Ruth Heck, both of Perryville; five grandchildren, Jaime (Mike) Aasen of Minnesota, Kim (Shawn) Heberlie of Ste. Genevieve, Luke Basler and Cristen Basler, both of Cam Crook, S.D., and Beth Basler of Ste. Genevieve; and one great-grandchild, Drake Aasen; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Harvey Heck and John Heck Jr.

Louise (Bergman) Amschler of Anna, Ill., formerly of Perryville, died Monday, Jan. 26, 2004 at Union County Hospital in Anna, Ill.
She was 93.
She was born Nov. 7, 1910 in Perryville, the daughter of the late John and Louise (Hoehn) Bergman.
She was married Oct. 2, 1940 to Howard Hoehn, who preceded her in death Oct. 24, 1954.
She was then married to Henry Guetersloh, who preceded her in death.
She was then married to Alfred Amschler, who preceded her in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Rose Guetersloh of Anna, Ill.; one sister, Doris Hemmann of St. Louis; one brother, Oscar Bergman of Lynnwood, Calif.; two granddaughters, LaDonna Henson of St. Peters, and Kim Kelly of Carbondale, Ill.; one grandson, Danny Guetersloh of Marion, Ill.; two great-granddaughters, Amanda Ballance of Cape Girardeau, and Alexandra Frick of Carbondale, Ill.; two great-grandsons, Jacob Guetersloh of Chester, Ill., and Jordan Kelly of Carbondale, Ill.; and nieces, nephew, and relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; three sisters, Florence, Albertine, and Lillian; and one brother, Rupert.
Mrs. Amschler was a past member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville, and Christ Lutheran Church in Jacob, Ill.

Selma Loberg
Selma M. "Sis" (Zahner) Loberg of Perryville, died Monday, Jan. 26, 2004 at Perry County Nursing Home in Perryville.
She was 96.
She was born March 16, 1907 in Perryville, the daughter of the late Romanus John and Anna Victoria (Hoffman) Zahner.
She was married June 12, 1969 to William Loberg, who preceded her in death March 23, 1974.
Survivors include one sister, Edna Kirn of Perryville; one brother, Leroy (Marie) Zahner of Perryville; one sister-in-law, Pearl Zahner of Perryville; and one brother-in-law, Rudy Buchheit of Biehle.
She was "Aunt Sis" to many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one sister, Zanaida; and two brothers, Ivo and Linus.
Mrs. Loberg was a nurse's aide who worked in the nursery at Perry County Memorial Hospital for many years.
She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville, and the Daughters of Isabella.

Thomas Tucker Jr.
Thomas G. Tucker, Jr. of Perryville, died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2004 at his residence.
He was 62.
He was born Feb. 11, 1941 in Cape Girardeau, the son of the late Thomas Gilmore and Emma Catherine (Blechle) Tucker.
He was married July 17, 1976 to Brenda (Coy) Tucker, who survives in Perryville.
Other survivors include three daughters, Cindy Fahrendorf of Ellisville; Amy Tucker of Nashville, Tenn. and Emily Tucker of the home; and two grandsons, Michael Moll and Lucas Fahrendorf.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Tucker was executive director of the Southeast Missouri Regional Planning and Economic Development Commission.
He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, board member of NATD: National Association of Development Organization, NARC: National Association of Regional Councils, Chamber of Commerce, Board of Directors of Citizens Electric Corporation, American Legion, Knights of Columbus 3rd Degree and Kiwanis in Perryville.
The family prefers memorials to be made to the Thomas Tucker Scholarship Fund from the Planning Commission Office or own choice.
The funeral Mass was held Friday, Jan. 30 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Kevin Fausz, C.M. officiating.
