NEELYVILLE -- Lola Ruth Whiteaker, 75, of Naylor died at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 3, 2005, in St. Francis Medical Center at Cape Girardeau.
Glenn Garrett
Glenn V. Garrett, 76, of Poplar Bluff died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2001, in Butler County.
His death was sudden and unexpected.
Mr. Garrett was born Jan. 25, 1925, in Williamsville to Lawrence O. and Rosie Garrett.
He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, a Mason and a Shriner.
He was a retired truck driver and a self-employed farm equipment salesman.
On Jan. 20, 1944, he married Helen Nichols in Corning, Ark.
She survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Glendol D. Garrett and Gayle E. Garrett, both of Poplar Bluff; one daughter, Angela E. Garrett of Poplar Bluff; two brothers, Jerry Garrett of Poplar Bluff and Ronald Garrett of Jasper, Ark.; one sister, Betty McIver of Poplar Bluff; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Wilma O'Dell.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Cotrell Funeral Chapel.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Greg Gilberto officiating.
Burial will be in the Black River Cemetery.
Peggy Muffett
NEELYVILLE -- Peggy Muffett, 59, of Harviell, died Wednesday, July 30, 2003, at Three Rivers Healthcare-North Campus in Poplar Bluff.
Mrs. Muffett was born April 11, 1944, in Des Arc.
She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge in Poplar Bluff.
On June 5, 1994, she married James Muffett in Corning, Ark.
He survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Bill Fell and James Muffett, Jr., both of the home; six daughters, Ronna Stucker of Naylor, Teresa Allen and Kelly Moore, both of Poplar Bluff, Karen Timmons of Harviell, Cheryl Croy of Hernando, Miss., Sheila Guise of St. James; three brothers, John Lashley of Utah, Terry Lashley of Texas, and Daniel Lashley of Poplar Bluff; two sisters, Sally Shackelford of Potosi and Susan Bagwell of Oxly; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will begin after 6 tonight at Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel in Neelyville.
The funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Donnie Emmons officiating.
Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery in Des Arc.
Patricia Bumgarner
ST. CHARLES -- Patricia Ann Bumgarner nee: Mosier, 61, of Hazelwood died Sunday, April 4, 2004, at her residence.
Mrs. Bumgarner was born March 26, 1943, at Ironton.
She had been employed as a sales associate with Sears Department Store for two years.
She was the owner of several business over the years; Greater Midwest Pizza Company; B & C Automotive; three service stations and several restaurants.
She was also a member of the St. Louis Women's Golf Association, a member of the women's fast pitch softball church league, Women's Horseshoe League Thursday night at Knights of Columbus in St. Charles; and avid racquetball player and loved fishing.
She was married to Larry G. Bumgarner of Hazelwood.
He survives.
Other survivors include her mother, Effie Mosier of Florissant; one son, James Allen Bumgarner and wife, Robyn, of St. Charles; three brothers, Kenneth Leon Mosier and wife, Irene, of Ballwin, and twins, Ronnie Lynn Mosier of Florissant and Donnie Glen Mosier of Park Hills; three grandchildren, Chase, Andrew and Jayme Layne and two nieces, Pattie Kimble and Christal Mosier.
She was preceded in death by her father, Leo Mosier and three brothers, Leo Levon Mosier, Kenneth Carl Mosier and David Paul Mosier.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today at the Baue Funeral and Memorial Center in St. Charles.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral chapel at 3950 West Clay in St. Charles.
Burial will be in the St. Charles Memorial Gardens at 3950 West Clay.

Clara Murray
DONIPHAN -- Clara Marie (Crook) Murray, 94, of Doniphan died Saturday, April 3, 2004, at the Elsberry Healthcare Center in Elsberry.
Mrs. Murray was born Sept. 17, 1909, to Samuel and Minnie Lee (Briggs) Crook in the Shiloh area.
She was a member of the Oak Grove Church of God and had worked as a cook for the Oak Grove School and Doniphan Public Schools from 1954 to 1971.
On March 4, 1929, she married Jess E. Murray at Doniphan.
He preceded her in death Aug. 7, 1996.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, John Crook and Wesley Crook and a great-grandson, Nicholas Moore.
Survivors include six children, Emma Lee Stobaugh and husband, Charles, of St. Louis, Glenn E. Murray and wife, Rachel, of West Plains, Jane Mackley and husband, Charles, of Arizona, Joyce Moore and husband, Dwaine, of Doniphan, Sharon Johnson of Elsberry, and Sue Stilwell and husband, Ken, of Doniphan; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Carl Crook of Poplar Bluff and Glenn Crook of California; four sisters, Bertha Majors of Idaho, Thelma Graham of Iowa, Gertrude Baker of Fenton and Gladys Wilkerson of Ironton and numerous nieces and nephews.
She lived her life according to the scripture: "Do justice, love kindness and walk gently with God" -- Micah 6:8.
Visitation will be at 5 p.m. Thursday at Edwards Funeral Home in Doniphan.
The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Oak Grove Church of God with the Rev. Glenn Murray officiating.
Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
Walter Mauzy
PIEDMONT -- Walter P. "Joe" Mauzy, 73, of Piedmont died Sunday, April 4, 2004, at his residence.
Mr. Mauzy was born Dec. 15, 1930, at Graniteville.
He was a member of the Victory Baptist Temple in Piedmont and a retired switchman for Terminal Railroad in St. Louis.
On Oct. 25, 1949, he married Betty L. Plymale.
She preceded him in death Aug. 17, 2003.
Survivors include two daughters, Janet Valencia of Manlius, N.Y. and Jackie Mauzy-Fieser of St. Ann; one sister, Rosemary Blankenship of Ironton; one brother, James Mauzy of Ironton and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at Ruegg Funeral Home in Piedmont.
The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral chapel with the Rev. Ric Stiegman officiating.
Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery in Piedmont.
Emma Morse
Emma Morse, 94, of Poplar Bluff died Sunday, April 4, 2004, at Three Rivers Healthcare North in Poplar Bluff.
Mrs. Morse was born June 16, 1909, in Poplar Bluff.
She was a Charter member of the Temple Baptist Church and a homemaker.
On Oct. 30, 1929, she married Clardy Ray Morse at Poplar Bluff.
He preceded her in death in 1989.
Survivors include one son, Donald L. Morse of Independence; two sisters, Veda Ruth Bristow of Poplar Bluff and Verle Hackenyos of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; one brother, Lanson Phillips of Doniphan; three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff.
The funeral service will follow at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel with the Rev. Steve Patterson officiating.
Burial will be in the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.

Nina Prall-Clark, 99, of Poplar Bluff died Monday, April 5, 2004, at Three Rivers Healthcare South in Poplar Bluff, after a short illness.
Phyllis Spradling
Phyllis Jean Spradling, 53, of Poplar Bluff died Tuesday, April 6, 2004, at her residence.
Mrs. Spradling was born Oct. 1, 1950, in Qulin.
She returned to school at age 40 and graduated from nursing school in 1966, as a registered nurse, while working full-time.
She worked at Three Rivers Healthcare South for 23 years.
She enjoyed fishing, reading, crocheting and cooking.
On Oct. 5, 1984, she married Dewain Spradling in Poplar Bluff.
He survives.
Other survivors include her mother, Wilma (Bazzell) Morgan of Poplar Bluff; one daughter, Christa French of Memphis, Tenn.; two sons, J. C. Cothren and Justin Spradling, both of Poplar Bluff; one sister, Carla Fisher of Fairdealing; two brothers, Michael Morgan and Marvin Morgan, both of Poplar Bluff; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Cotrell Funeral Chapel in Poplar Bluff.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in the funeral chapel with the Rev. Jim Gilbreath officiating and the Rev. Vernon Kneir assisting.
