James D. Sage
James D. Sage, 61, of Stoutland died Wednesday morning, April 10, 2002, in his home near Stoutland.
He was born May 23, 1940, in Monmouth, Ill., to Roscoe E. Sage, Sr. and Clara Mae High Sage.
On Sept. 15, 1962, he married Della Ann Archer.
Mr. Sage worked as an electrician throughout his life and served in the United States Army in Korea.
He had professed his faith in Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Della, of the home; a son, Troy Sage of Lake Ozark; three daughters, Janine Edwards and her husband, Ken., of McRae, Ark.; Kathy Schneider and her husband, Merle, of Concord, N.C.; Teri Foley and her husband, Greg, of Harrisburg, N.C.; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; his mother, Clara Mae Sage of Monmouth, Ill.; five brothers, Roscoe Sage, Jr. of Mabank, Texas; Wayne Sage of Cameron, Ill.; Darrell and Charles Sage, both of Monmouth, Ill.; Les Sage of Lakeland, Fla.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Services for James D. Sage were held at 10 a.m., Friday, April 12, 2002 in the Holman-Howe Chapel of Lebanon with Dr. J. Larry Dowell officiating. Burial was in the Stoutland Cemetery with Full Military Rites, under the direction of the Holman-Howe Funeral Home.

Ralph D. Hightower
Ralph D. Hightower, son of Jesse and Nita Roe Hightower, was born October 30, 1916 in Excelsior Springs, and departed this life May 7, 2002 in Grand Junction, Colorado, at the age of eighty five years.
On July 17, 1942, he was united in marriage with Kathryn Lucile McKissack, and to this union was born one son.
Ralph served his country with the United States Army from September 10, 1940 until he was honorably discharged November 9, 1966, after twenty-six years of service.
He was a member of the Richland Masonic Lodge #383 and Abou Ben Adhem Shrine Club.
Ralph enjoyed farming, fishing and spending time with his family and friends.
Those surviving include his son, Roger Hightower and his wife Carol, and one granddaughter, Erin Kelly Hightower, all of Grand Junction, Colorado; other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife Kathryn.
Funeral services for Mr. Hightower were held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 11, 2002 at Colonial Funeral Chapel with Dr. Mike Hawkins officiating. Escorts were J.R. Black, Bobbie Baker, Vern Clements, L.E. Gibson, Harold Smith and Larry Roam.
Burial was in Oaklawn Cemetery, Richland, under the direction of Colonial Funeral Chapel.

Paul Kell, Jr.
Paul Kell, Jr., 44, died April 02, 2002 at his home in Springfield.
He leaves behind his longtime companion Sylvia Yount, of the home; his parents, Paul and Betty Kell of Richland; three sisters, Nancy Bear of Springfield, Jeannie Matrow of Eldon, and Carol Schiedel-Smith of Richland; his daughter, Casey Anne and his son, Shawn Paul of Joplin.
A short memorial service will be held at Bethlehem Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2002.

Burnice Eugene Malin
Burnice Eugene Malin, son of Robert Edgar Malin and Annie Leona Howe Malin was born on July 15, 1927 in Springfield, Mo., and departed this life December 23, 2001 in Lebanon, at the age of 74 years.
On August 26, 1947, Burnice was united in marriage to Opal LaGayle Brown, and to this union were born two children.
At the time of his death, he was a member of High Point Baptist Church.
He enjoyed fishing, especially for catfish and crappie, deer hunting with his friends, Chester and Cookie.
He loved to tell good jokes in which he never forgot, but most of all, he loved to spend time with his family and friends.
His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the apple of his eye.
He is survived by his wife LaGayle of the home and two daughters, Connie Ellzey and her husband Ricky, and Wilma Otto and her husband Dwain, both of Stoutland; two brothers, Bob Malin and his wife Adela, of Stoutland, and Dwight Malin and his wife Barbara, of Phoenix, Ariz.; one sister, Virginia Smith and her husband Ray, of Chunchula, Ala.; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Burnice was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services for Mr. Malin were held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 27, 2001 at Colonial Funeral Chapel, Richland, with Rev. Dan Sample officiating.
Escorts were Don Trandum, Rick Brown, Doug Scott, Chester Cooper, Terry Scott and Billy Brown.
Honorary Escort was T.J. Brown.
Burial was in High Point Cemetery, Stoutland, under the direction of Colonial Funeral Chapel.

Harvey Dean Scott
Harvey Dean Scott, son of Dorsie Bryan Scott and Hallie Mildred Hudgens Scott was born July 1, 1947 in Richland, Mo., and departed this life December 24, 2001 at his home in Waynesville at the age of fifty four years.
He served his country with the United States Army and the United States Navy, serving a tour of duty in Viet Nam.
Harvey enjoyed hunting, fishing and especially helping others.
He was always there to lend a helping hand.
He is survived by one brother, Dorsie Scott and his wife Susan of Richland; four sisters: Frances Joan Quesenberry of Richland, Beulah May York of Laquey, Shirley Joyce Moore and her husband Charles of Springfield, Mary Ethel Hayes and her husband Nelson of Kansas City, Mo.; a very special friend, Mickey Coleman of Waynesville; other relatives and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, William Henry Scott.
Harvey will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all his family and friends, and those lives he touched.
Funeral services for Mr. Scott were held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 27, 2001 at Colonial Funeral Chapel, Richland, with Rev. Rocky Harris officiating. Escorts were Calvin York, Joe York, Allan Wood, Terry York, Robert Scott and Brian Adams.
Honorary Escorts were David Scott, Ray Moore and Michael Casselman.
Burial was in Dixon Cemetery, Dixon, Mo., with military rites by American Legion Post #240.
Services were under the direction of Colonial Funeral Chapel, Richland.

Dorothy Jean Henson
Dorothy Jean Henson, daughter of Ed and Iris Scott Kuykendoll was born September 17, 1925 in Roaston, Okla. and departed this life March 29, 2002 at her home in Stoutland at the age of 76.
On January 22,1940, she was united in marriage with Warren Robert Henson, and to this union were born six children.
Dorothy professed her faith in Christ as a young girl and at the time of her death was a member of the Stoutland Baptist Church, where she attended faithfully.
Among her many hobbies were painting, reading, visiting with her many friends at the Midway Restaurant and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She leaves to mourn her passing, three sons, Claye Henson and wife Jan, Ricky Henson and wife Ellen and Roy Henson, all of Stoutland; two daughters, Evelyn Phillips and husband Francis, Dorothy Wells and husband Gene, both of Stoutland; seventeen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren; two very special friends, Wilma Preble and Audrey Darwin both of Stoutland, other relatives and many friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Warren Henson and one son, Robert Gene Henson.
Dorothy was a loving, caring person and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Mary Eleanor Schwandt
Mary Eleanor Schwandt, 81, of Springfield, a kind and loving mother and teacher, passed away Wednesday, December 19, 2001 in Primrose Place, where she made her home since 1993.
She was born June 18, 1920 in Paris, Texas, the daughter of Elmer P. and Parthena Dumus Pope.
She graduated from Monett High School in 1937, Monett Junior College in 1939, and received her Bachelor of Science in Education from Southwest Missouri State College, now SMSU, in 1948.
She taught in Kings Prairie and Minden Schools near Monett.
On Christmas Eve 1949 she married Howard Schwandt in Monett.
Soon after their marriage they moved to Crocker where they raised seven children.
She taught school in Crocker and Waynesville school districts until her retirement in 1982.
She was a member of Kappa Kappa Iota teachers sorority, Crocker Christian Church and the Crocker Park Board.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard, a son, Leonard Schwandt, and a daughter-in-law, Joyce Schwandt.
Mrs. Schwandt is survived by four sons: George Schwandt, Springfield; John Schwandt and wife Lisa, Waynesville; Eric Schwandt and Sherry Potter, Crocker; and Joe Schwandt and wife Lisa, Osage Beach; two daughters: Mary Lou Goeke, Santa Cruz, Calif., and Tina Uridge and husband Ken, Shawnee, Kan.; a daughter-in-law, Rita Schwandt, Crocker; ten grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Sunday, December 22, 2002 in Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel, with the Reverend Julie Mercer-Kidd officiating.
Burial followed in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Monett.
