Vernice Marie (Smith) Bagwell
Vernice Marie (Smith) Bagwell, the only daughter of the late Xavier Joseph and Percilla Louise (Bergron) Smith was born September 22, 1923 in Houma, Louisiana, where she grew up and attended school.
As an infant, Vernice was baptized into the Holy Catholic Church. She was a long time, faithful member of the St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church where she was active in the Altar and Rosary Society.
On January 21, 1945, Vernice was united in marriage to James R. Bagwell in Washington, D.C. James preceded her in death on January 1, 1977.
Vernice went home to be with her Lord the evening of December 14, 2003 at her home in St. Robert, at the age of 80 years.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter: Carolin Schnieders and her husband John of Caraway, Ark.; one son: Ray Bagwell and his wife, Sandra of Columbus, Ohio; one brother: Ivy Smith of Houma, La.; two granddaughters: Sandra Robinson and her husband James of Louisville, Ky., and Kate Bagwell of Columbus, Ohio; two grandsons: Craig Schnieders of Caraway, Ark., and Jonathan Bagwell and his wife Cristen of Columbus, Ohio; one great granddaughter: Mackenna Bagwell of Columbus, Ohio; several other relatives and friends.
A prayer service was held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 16, 2003 at Waynesville Memorial Chapel with Father John Groner officiating.
Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 17 at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church with Father Groner officiating. Agatha Douwnar, Teresa Mecham and Charlotte Voudrie assisted as servers. Soloist, Mike Beattie sang, "Ave Maria," "In the Garden" and "Amazing Grace." He was accompanied by Organist, Joung Ok Lee. Serving as escorts were Ray Clark, Ed Flanigan, Marilyn Miller, Jim Nalley, Clarence Platt and Kkay Schhomer. Frank Bogad was an honorary escort.
Burial followed in the Resurrection Cemetery, St. Robert. Services were under the direction of Waynesville Memorial Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, the Michael J. Fox Parkinson's Foundation or the American Diabetes Association.

Joseph John Sippio
Joseph John Sippio, son of Ralph and Rosina Polsinelli Sippio, was born November 4, 1934 in Albany, New York and departed this life February 25, 2002 at his home in Loveland, Colorado at the age of 67.
On March 4, 1957 he was united in marriage with Dona Beth Wilson, and to this union were born two children.
Joseph served his country with the United States Army from April 28, 1955 until he was honorably discharged March 31, 1963.
He enjoyed woodworking, repairing machines and small engines. He worked at Eastman Kodak for approximately sixteen years before retiring.
Joe loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his children and grandchildren. They were a very important part of his life.
He is survived by his wife Dona Beth of the home; one son, Jim Sippio and wife Julie, Loveland, Colo.; one daughter, Roxanna Sippio, Albuquerque, N.M.; three grandchildren, Tara, Amanda and Andrew Sippio of Loveland, Colo.; other relatives and many friends.
Joe will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A memorial service for Mr. Sippio was conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 23, 2002 at Colonial Funeral Chapel, Richland, with Rev. Damon Thomas officiating. Music was provided by Christopher Robinson, Soloist, and DeLores Shadel, Organist.
Burial was in Oaklawn Cemetery, Richland, under the direction of Colonial Funeral Chapel.

Roberta Leta Morris
Roberta Leta Morris, daughter of Johnnie William and Ester Pearl (Rhodes) Parkhurst, was born March 3, 1935 in Butler, Oklahoma.
Roberta departed this life on March 23, 2002 at her home in Waynesville at the age of 67 years.
Roberta worked on the assembly line at Brown Shoe Company for six years before becoming the owner and operator of Cozy Arts Theatre, Cozy Acres Mobile Home Court, Beauty Shop, Laundry Mat and Tattoo Shop.
Roberta was a member of the VFW Post 3176 Ladies Auxiliary, Waynesville/St. Robert Area Chamber of Commerce, Gardening Club and the Arbor Day Foundation. She enjoyed gardening, reading, sewing and hummingbirds.
Roberta will be sadly missed by three sons: Carl Dean Morris of Waynesville, and Terry and Carl Reed of the State of Oklahoma; and two daughters: Angel Hanley of Dayton, Ohio and Sherrie Montaruli of Nixa. She also leaves three brothers: Wayne Parkhurst and wife Juanice, and Melvin Parkhurst and wife Deanne, all of Cheyenne, Okla., and Robert Parkhurst and wife Nadine of Duncan, Okla.; four grandchildren: Carl Dale Morris, Charles Reed, Elizabeth Ann Morris and Jennifer Reed; and four stepsisters: Mary Lou VanPelt, Jane Lambe, Wanda Fay Montgomery and Lorene Schultz. Also surviving are her best friend Sharon Carrigar; friends John Culbertson and Roger Alley; sister-in-law Jean Parkhurst; and several other relatives and friends.
Roberta was preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie and Ester Parkhurst; one son, Lou Burns; and two brothers, Jimmie Eugene and Marion Parkhurst.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2002 in the Waynesville Memorial Chapel with Rev. Juanice Parkhurst officiating. Roberta's daughter Angel sang "Amazing Grace" and "What A Day That Will Be" while accompanied by her husband David. Acknowledgments were read by dear friends Ivan Roberts and Loretta Terrio. The congregation sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Softly and Tenderly." Serving as escorts were Roger Alley, Brock Cameron, Ron James, Carl Dale Morris, Carl Dean Morris, John Montaruli, Melvin Parkhurst, and Ivan Roberts.
Burial was in the Waynesville Memorial Park Cemetery. Services were under the direction of the Waynesville Memorial Chapel.

Laurine Edwin "Pops" Lundblad, Jr.
Laurine Edwin "Pops" Lundblad, Jr., son of the late Laurine Edwin and Grace (Beattie) Lundblad, was born January 15, 1943 at Glenwood, Iowa in Mills County.
Jr. departed this life the afternoon of March 19, 2002 at the Lake Regional Health Center in Osage Beach at the age of 59 years.
When Jr. was a young boy, his family moved to Neosho where he grew up and attended school.
In 1961, Jr. entered the U.S. Army. For his honorable service to his country, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Commendation Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Overseas Service Bars and the Good Conduct Medal (5th award) along with many other commendations and awards. First Sergeant Lundblad retired from active duty on April 8, 1982.
On March 17, 1974 Jr. was united in marriage with Kwin Nim "Betty" Yoon at the First Christian Church in Waynesville. Betty preceded him in death on April 6, 1982.
Jr. was a member of the Deerbrook Covenant Church and the Elks Club in Lees Summit. He also held memberships with the American Legion Post 331 and the Ozark Memorial VFW Post 3176, both in St. Robert.
Jr. was dearly loved and will be sadly missed by five daughters: JoAnn Kilian and husband Jerry, of Greenwood, Marian Griffin and husband David, and Judy Vaughn, all of Osage Beach, Brenda Ross and husband Mike of Granby, and Anita Lundblad of Neosho; and one son, Jerry R. "Jr." Levett and wife Linda of Waynesville. He also leaves nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents and his wife, Jr. was also preceded in death by one brother, Ken Lundblad.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 22, 2002 at Waynesville Memorial Chapel with Pastor Virgil White officiating. A lovely eulogy was given by Jr.'s long-time friend, Hank Veach. "Amazing Grace," "Higher Ground" and "Because You Loved Me" were played. Jr.'s grandchildren serves as escorts.
Burial with military honors was in the Idumea Cemetery, with escorts and honors being provided by the U.S. Army at Fort Leonard Wood. Services were under the direction of Waynesville Memorial Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Jr. Lundblad.

Harvey Kenneth Gottowski
Harvey Kenneth Gottowski was born October 18, 1925 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Harvey was one of nine children born to the union of Herman and Alma (Korb) Gottowski. As an infant, he was baptized into the Lutheran faith.
Harvey departed this life the evening of March 4, 2002 at the General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, at the age of 76 years.
When Harvey was 16 years old, he wanted to serve in World War II, so he joined the Merchant Marines. When his tour was over, he returned home and went to work for the Kohler Company making bathtubs and faucets.
In 1951, Harvey enlisted in the U.S. Army. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. For his faithful and honorable service to his country, he received numerous medals, commendations and other awards. Sergeant First Class Gottowski retired from active duty in 1973. He was a life member of the Ozark Memorial VFW Post 3176, St. Robert and the Harry Herron Memorial DAV Chapter 49, Crocker.
On July 5, 1957 in Haiger Dilkreis, Germany, Harvey was united in marriage with Esther Ruth Paul. Harvey and Esther were blessed with one daughter, Doris Maja, and later with their son-in-law, Shannon and their grandson, Kenneth.
After retiring from the military, Harvey went to work at the commissary at Fort Leonard Wood. He then opened the D & G Package Store in St. Robert, which he and Esther have owned and operated for nearly 30 years.
To say that Harvey was a Green Bay Packers Football team fan would be a gross understatement. He not only loved the Packers, but also enjoyed sharing his passion by decorating his home and store with Packers paraphernalia. Harvey also enjoyed woodworking, but most of all he loved spending time with his grandson, Kenneth.
Harvey will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by his wife Esther of the home; his daughter Doris Curry, her husband Shannon, and their son Kenneth, all of Bentonville, Arkansas; and two sisters, Lorraine Bennin of Johnsonville, Wisconsin and Doris Mehaloupolis of Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends also survive.
Harvey was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Alma Gottowski; one brother, Robert Gottowski; and five sisters: Bernelda Mitchell, Myra Klein, Lucille LaVallier, Elizabeth Michels and Ruth Geisler.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, March 7 at Waynesville Memorial Chapel with Chaplain (CPT) Mark Shelton officiating. "Amazing Grace" was played. The U.S. Army at Fort Leonard Wood provided escorts.
Burial with military honors was in Sunset Memorial Estates Cemetery, Waynesville. Services were under the direction of Waynesville Memorial Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Pulaski County YMCA Youth Programs in memory of Harvey Gottowski.

Clarence Kenneth Brown
Clarence Kenneth Brown, son of William Arthur and Stella Suffie Godfery Brown, was born January 11, 1927 in Richland and departed this life March 13, 2002 in Lebanon at the age of seventy-five years.
Clarence recently professed his faith in Jesus Christ and in the past attended the Beulah Baptist Church.
He served his country with the United States Army from March 29, 1945 until he was honorably discharged November 6, 1945. On March 16, 1948 he joined the United States Navy, serving until February 27, 1952.
Before retiring, he worked as a carpet installer for Brown's Carpet Company.
Among his many hobbies were hunting and fishing. Most of all he loved the time spent with his family and friends.
He is survived by one sister, Arliene Connett, Lebanon; four nephews, Wes Connett and wife Jean, Penrose, Colo., Cecil Connett and wife Maxine, Lebanon, Tommy D. Brown and wife Ruth, Arkansas City, Kan., Ronnie Brown and wife Marty, Wichita, Kan.; one niece, Connie Jones and husband Lee, Wichita, Kan.; several great nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Wesley, William and Cecil (Pete) Brown.
Funeral services for Mr. Brown were held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 16, 2002 at Colonial Funeral Chapel, Richland, with Pastor Charles Newell officiating. Escorts were Mike Henson, Derek Connett, Tom Brown, Darren Connett, John Connett and Ronnie Brown. Military graveside rites were performed by the American Legion Post $240, Richland.
Final resting place is Oaklawn Cemetery, Richland. Services were under the direction of Colonial Funeral Chapel.

Lillian Mae Hensley
Lillian Mae Hensley was born Oct. 10, 1922 near Springfield, Mo. Mae was one of seven children born to the union of the late Thomas and Nellie (Gardner) Springer.
On June 19, 1938, Mae was united in marriage with Lester "Bill" Hensley. Mae and Bill shared three children: John, and twins, Terry and Sherry. Bill preceded Mae in death on July 15, 1955.
Mae owned and operated Hensley Ice Co, Hensley Dairy Crème and Lilly Ann's. She later worked for and retired from the Waynesville School system. For several years, she headed the lunch program for the district.
Mae was a member of Waynesville First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years, and was active in WMU. She was a member and past president of the Waynesville Business and Professional Women's Club and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Hansen Chapter 21.
Her hands and mind were never idle. She loved to read, work puzzles, bird watch, play with her cat, and play Dominoes with her Friday night group. She was a big sports fan. Her favorite times were spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was very proud of them.
Mae passed away the morning of March 17, 2003 at St. John's Regional Health Center in Springfield, Mo. having attained the age of 80 years.
Mae will be sadly missed by two sons: John Hensley and his wife Carolena of Waynesville, and Terry Hensley of Kansas City, Mo.; one daughter: Sherry Bentley and her husband, Charlie of Cleveland, Ohio; four brothers: Wallace Springer and his wife, Vivian of Springfield, Edgar Springer of Independence, John Springer of Shawnee Mission, Kan., and Charles Springer of Grain Valley. She also leaves her beloved grandchildren: John Hensley, David Hensley and his wife, Marsha, and Michelle and Kevin Bentley; and great grandchildren: Nicholas and Taylor Hensley. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Bill, Mae will join in heaven one brother: Paul Marion Springer and an infant sister.
Funeral services were held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 20, 2003 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Turner and Rev. Dennis Crowder officiating. Soloist Doreen Horn sang "The Lord's Prayer" and "In The Garden" as she was accompanied by Pianist Jean Ely. Serving as escorts were Kevin Bentley, David Hensley, John Hensley, Gary Springer, Larry Springer and Steve Springer. Serving as honorary escorts were Eugene Bolin, Richard Gil, Tom Livingston, Marvin Long, Bobby Gene Springer and Larry Weatherly, Jr. Burial followed at Sunset Memorial Estates Cemetery, Waynesville. Services were under the direction of Waynesville Memorial Chapel.
Memorial donations may be made to the Waynesville-St. Robert Senior Citizens Center or the First Baptist Church Building Fund and may be left at the funeral home.
