Daniel Lee Hall of Crocker was born on May 8, 1986 at Fort Leonard Wood, a son of Barry Samuel and Charity Lynn (Evans) Hall, and departed this life at 7:59 p.m. Sunday evening, August 17, 2003 near Crocker, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Daniel had attained the age of 17 years, 3 months and 9 days.
Daniel was preceded in death by his great grandparents Clarence and Bessie Burkhart, and Clyde and Louise Jumper; one great aunt Virginia Dye; and one cousin, Lenny Phillip White.
Daniel was a member of the Crocker Rural Fire Protection District, and also a Senior at Crocker Public Schools.
Those left to mourn the passing of Daniel Lee Hall include his parents, Barry and Charity Lynn Hall of Crocker; one brother, Joshua Phillip Hall of the home in Crocker; paternal grandparents Arnold and Betty Hall of rural Crocker; maternal grandparents Lee and Shirley Evans of Swedeborg; several uncles, aunts, cousins, and a host of other relatives; friends; classmates; and coworkers.
Fond and precious memories of Daniel will long remain in the hearts of his dear family, and all who knew and loved him.
Out of town guests were his aunt Faith Childers of Lugoff, S.C.; great aunt Marie Campbell of Seymour, Ind.; great aunt Lucille Hubbard of Joliet, Ill.; her son Arnold Dean Hubbard and wife Andrea, also of Joliet, Ill.; Paul Luray Hubbard and wife Brenda of Jefferson City; aunt Lura Mae (Hall) Ollis and Harry Ollis; grandchildren Harlee, Hogan and Harrison Thompson, all of Erwin, Tenn.; cousins Arnold and Lloyd Burkhart of Gravois Mills; cousins Melissa and son Justin, Amanda Hall and mother Aleta McEnneny of Moscow Mills; Barbara Crum of Versailles and daughter Paula Maylee of Holt Summit; cousin Bill and Darleen Simmons of Pontiac, Mich.
Funeral services were conducted for Daniel at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 20, 2003 in the Crocker Christian Church with Rev. Ernest Miller of Full Gospel Tabernacle of Iberia officiating. "Daniel," "A Hole in the World," "The Dance," "Tennessee River Run," "Soon," "Like the Rain" and "A Real Good Man" were sung for the funeral service.
Interment was in the Crocker Public Cemetery under the direction of Long Funeral Home of Crocker. Active pallbearers for Daniel were members of the Crocker Rural Fire Protection District, with Daniel Moore, Chris Etheridge, James Decker, Lance Reiter, Brock Schuld, Dillon Mayhew and Bob Frederickson serving as Honorary Pallbearers.
Daniel was honored with all the surrounding Fire Protection Districts by marching behind the motorcade, carrying Daniel, from the Crocker Christian Church to the Crocker Public Cemetery in Crocker. Our eternal gratitude and thanks to all of you.

Bobbie Decker-Bilke-Wheatley
Bobbie Faye was born on Jan. 18, 1942, south of Laquey, to Miss Orvetta Decker and departed this earth on Aug. 10, 2003 at the age of 61, after a short battle with cancer at the Freeman West Hospital in Joplin. Bobbie's mother passed in Alabama while she was living with her grandparents, Tillman and Floy Decker in Laquey. After her grandparents passed away, she moved to Joplin to live with her Uncle Johnnie and Aunt "Bessie" Norvella Powers, and adoptive siblings, Sandra, Donna and Johnnie, Jr. After graduating from high school, she went on to become a very dedicated and devoted LPN until she became disabled in the mid-80's. She returned to school shortly after and studied computers which led to her work for Southwest Anesthesiology Center, where she remained until retirement in 1995. She was a very active member of the Joplin Family Worship Center. Bobbie also ministered, through her wonderful music, to four separate care facilities in the Joplin area. Her beautiful voice brought great pleasure to all who heard it. Bobbie had a gracious and uplifting spirit and touched the hearts of all that were truly blessed to have known her.
She was united in marriage on Nov. 4, 1961 in Joplin to Marvin Bilke. The couple was blessed with one daughter, Diana, and twin boys, David and Dwayne, who passed shortly after birth. Marvin preceded her in death on April 10, 2000. After her grief, she then wed Alan Wheatley on July 19, 2003, also in Joplin.
Bobbie is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Alan of the home; one daughter, Diana Golden of Webb City; two grandchildren, Amber and Jacob, also of Webb City; two sisters, Sandra Duncan of Joplin and Donna Hanson of Waterloo, Iowa; three aunts, Aimee Sherwood of Wichita, Kan., Anita Parrish of Clanton, Ala., and Roberta Jones of Crocker; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, Marvin Bilke; her mother, Orvetta Decker; her grandparents, Tillman and Floy Decker; adoptive parents, Uncle Johnnie and Aunt "Bessie" Norvella Powers; her brother, Johnnie, Jr., and twin sons, David and Dwayne.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2003 at the Mason-Woodard Mortuary in Joplin. The Rev. Robert Hendrix and Rev. Phyliss Sloan officiated. Burial took place at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery in Joplin.
Bobbie Faye was, and is spirit still is, a very loving and caring individual. And lest we never forget that we shall never feel alone or abandoned for we shall always have her at our side watching over us.
Thank you for the memories, you will always be truly missed and loved.
Mary Ellen Traw
Mary Ellen Traw, daughter of Clarence and Bessie Mable Bybee Wellman, was born Dec. 15, 1909 in Connalsville, and departed this life Aug. 16, 2003 in St. Robert at the age of 93.
On July 8, 1937 she was united in marriage with Samuel Alfred Traw, and of this union are three children. She is preceded in death by one son, Samuel Wellman Traw.
She has been a faithful member of the Richland United Methodist Church for many years.
Mary graduated from Northeast Missouri State with a degree in Home Economics and received her master's degree from University of Missouri at Columbia. She taught both Home Economics and Science in the Richland and Stoutland public schools. She also served as Home Economist in Webster County. After retiring from teaching, Mary owned and operated "Mary's Machine Quilting."
Those surviving include her husband, Samuel Alfred Traw; one son, Bennie Glenn Traw and wife Lois of Nashville, N.C.; one daughter, Alta Belle Roberts and husband Jim of Richland; one half brother, Glenn Wellman of Rockport, Texas; two half sisters, Eunice Dromberger of Chillicothe, and Naomi Rifley of Moline, Ill.; five grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Mary enjoyed all types of handwork, including crocheting, cross stitch, embroidery, knitting and quilt making. She also enjoyed raising flowers, especially African Violets. Mostly, Mary enjoyed the time spent with her family and friends.
She is also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, John Alvin and Russell Wellman; one sister, Gladys Cooper; one step sister; three step brothers; one half brother; one grandson, Stephen Ellner; and one great granddaughter, Abby Mae Ellner.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2003 at Colonial Chapel, Richland, with Rev. Ralph Hosman officiating. Escorts were Jim Roberts, Jeff Traw, Wayne Anderson, Sammy Roberts, David Traw and Terry Evans.
Burial was in Oaklawn Cemetery, Richland, under the direction of Thieme-Shadel-Hicks Funeral Service at Colonial Chapel.
Sylvan R. Mooney
Sylvan Rudolph Mooney, son of Elijah Chase and Emma Josephine Bartee Mooney, was born June 2, 1911, near Montreal in Camden County, Mo. He went to meet his Lord on Sunday, Sept. 14, 2003 in St. John's Regional Health Center in Springfield following a short illness, at the age of 92 years.
On Sept. 19, 1936 he was united in marriage to Pearl Elizabeth Gouge, and to this union three daughters and two sons were born.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, C.R. Breeden; a great-grandson, Shane Howe; seven brothers, Charlie, Lloyd, twins Edgar and Edwin, Cecil, and twins Buel and Jewell; and three sisters, Eula, Ila and Lois.
Sylvan is survived by his wife, Pearl of the home, two sons, Lenvil Mooney and wife Hilda of Lebanon, and Gary Mooney and wife Pat of Richland; three daughters, Lucille Garrison of Springfield, Linda Howe and husband Jim of Bolivar, and Beverly Breeden and husband Richard of Waynesville; eleven grandchildren, Brenda Miller, Melinda Lumley, Kelly McCann, David Mooney, Leslee Hicks, Brent Garrison, Stephanie Jernigan, Kim Quennoz, Jeff Howe, Cindy Holtz, and Kevin Breeden; 18 great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Lawrence Ethridge of Leonard, Okla.; a sister-in-law, Anna Mooney of Lebanon; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised near Montreal, Mo., and graduated from the Stoutland High School in the Class of 1930. After he and Pearl were married, they made their home on their farm near Stoutland, and lovingly raised their family. Besides operating a farm for most of his life, he also was employed at Fort Leonard Wood in the Post Engineer Sanitation Department.
Sylvan accepted Christ at the age of thirteen, on Nov. 13, 1924 at the Stoutland Baptist Church, where he was an active member for many years. He moved his membership to the Second Baptist Church in Lebanon and later transferred his membership to the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Lebanon, where he was active for many years and particularly enjoyed feeding the troops from Ft. Leonard Wood. He loved the Lord and his life was an example to all that knew him. He leaves behind a strong Christian foundation for his family and has set the bar high for his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren to follow.
He was a lifelong horseman and had a vast knowledge of horses. He started trading horses at the age of 13 and shod horses in the area for many years. He reworked saddles in his basement shop and made one, which he used. He was a charter member of the Stoutland Saddle Club, where he had served as President. He said his favorite team was Comet and Cupid, matching black horses, which he had as colts. He enjoyed horse shows, trail rides and went horseback riding with both of his sons on his 90th birthday.
He loved to read western books, and had read most of the Zane Grey and Louis L'Amour books, which were his favorites.
Sylvan clogged (he called it jig dancing) for his family and friends in their home while his wife, Pearl, played chords on the piano. This summer he performed for several events as the special guest of the Sho-Me Thunder Cloggers, and they presented him with a plaque as an honorary member of their group.
Each family member and friend will have their own special memories of Sylvan, but all will remember him for his down home wit and jokes, his loyalty to his friends, his honesty and integrity, and his devotion to and pride in his family.
Services for Sylvan Mooney were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2003 at Holman-Howe Chapel, Lebanon, with Rev. Richard Breeden officiating. Music was provided by Kenneth Howe, Vocalist and Willa Faye Viele, Pianist performing "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Peace in the Valley." Congregational singing included "When We All Get to Heaven." Escorts were Kevin Breeden, Jeff Howe, David Mooney, Brent Garrison, Cecil Mooney and Jim Mooney. Honorary Escorts were Harley Bechtel, Estill Clay, Glen Sherrer, J.R. Bechtel, Floyd Craddock, Charlie Sullivan, the late C.R. Breeden and the late Shane Howe. Burial was in Stoutland Cemetery.
Sheena Christina Kiser
Sheena Christina Kiser, age 11, died Tuesday, February 5, 2002 at her home in Lexington, Ky. She was a fifth grade student at Lansdowne Elementary School. A former Richland resident, born December 26, 1990 in Osage Beach. She was a daughter of Tina Hickey Kiser, Lexington and Mike Kiser of Bellingham Wash. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Girl Scout Troop 862, Quest Program for Gifted and Talented, as well as the Health Club at her school.
Other survivors include brother Matthew Nicholas Kiser, Lexington, maternal grandmother Mary L. Sloan, Lexington; paternal grandfather, Dale Kiser, Saline, Minn.; and aunt Pam McCanchan, N.C.; uncles Jeff Kiser and Gary L. Hickey of Lexington; great-great aunt Rowene Sagaser, Richland.
Sheena was preceded in death by maternal grandfather James Hickey, paternal grandmother Mary Ellen Wilson Kiser, paternal great grandparents Davis and Phoebe Wilson. Services were held Saturday, February 9, 2002 at W.R. Milward Montuary in Lexington, with Rev. Dan Noll officiating. Hallie Mae Smith
Hallie Mae Smith, daughter of Richard and Lavina Davis was born in Carter County, on May 19, 1910, the night of Halley's Comet, and departed this life Dec. 18, 2002 in Southcrest Hospital, Tulsa, Okla.
She was married to Joseph Elbert McDaniel who preceded her in death.
Hallie later was married to Clarence Smith and they spent 20 special years together. Clarence preceded her in death in June of 1986.
Early in life she professed her faith in Christ and for many years she has been a member of the Hazelgreen United Methodist Church. In 1993 Hallie moved to Tulsa to be near her daughter Peggy.
Hallie is survived by her daughter Peggy Stefanoff of Tulsa, Okla.; three grandchildren: Buddy and Steve Stefanoff and Fred Sloan and wife Pam; two great grandchildren: Rachel and David Sloan. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands Joseph Elbert McDaniel and Clarence Smith; one sister, Lois Davis; and one brother, Claude Davis.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 23, 2002 at Colonial Funeral Chapel, Richland with Pastor Larry Hubbard officiating. Escorts were Hugh McClure, Buddy Stefanoff, Steve Stefanoff and Bud Stefanoff.
Donna Marie Conley
Donna Marie Conley, daughter of the late Ralph and Ida (Jennings) Miller, was born August 5, 1934 at Stickney, Missouri in Pulaski County.
She grew up in the Spring Creek and Waynesville area, and lived in Devils Elbow for the last 37 years.
On February 1, 1951, Donna married John E. Conley, and to this union five children were born: Sandra, Susan, John, Charles and David. Her greatest joy in life was her children, and her grandchildren: Wendy, Amy, Mande, Jason, Ashley, Felicia, Jeremy, Francine, Danielle and Samantha, and her great grandchildren: Mason and Dakota.
Donna enjoyed being outdoors, reading and doing crossword puzzles.
Donna departed this life the evening of March 26, 2003 at her home in Devils Elbow, Missouri, at the age of 68 years.
She leaves to cherish her memory 2 daughters: Sandra Karr and her husband, David of Rolla and Susan Karr of Devils Elbow; 2 sons: John Conley and his wife Carla of Rolla and Charles Conley of St. Robert; 10 grandchildren: Wendy Karr of Rolla, Amy Barnes of Columbia, Mande Lawton of Pikes Road, Alabama, Jason Conley serving on the USS Austin in the Persian Gulf, Ashley Conley of Junction City, Kansas, Felicia Conley of Bucyrus, Jeremy Conley of St. Robert, Francine Henry and Danielle and Samantha Beursken; two great grandchildren: Mason Parks and Dakota Bell Lawton; one sister: Louise Wilson and her husband Eugene of Rolla; one brother: Bill Miller and his wife Carlene of Greenville, Illinois and several other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Donna was also preceded in death by one son: David Conley and one brother: Clifford Miller.
Funeral services were held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 29, 2003 at Waynesville Memorial Chapel with Pastor Jerry Wittmaier officiating. The songs "My Way," "How Great Thou Art" and "On the Wings of a Dove" were played. Serving as escorts were James Barnes, Dino Cole, David Karr, Ricky Kraemer, Tom Livingston and Tim Riggs. Honorary escorts were Jason Conley, Mason Parks, Jeremy Conley and Dakota Bell Lawton. Burial followed in Waynesville Memorial Park Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Waynesville Memorial Chapel.
