Mabel Louise "Bobbie" Bogad
Mabel Louise "Bobbie" Bogad was born April 3, 1920 in Advance in Stoddard County.
She was one of the six daughters born to the late Benjamin and Ada (Pixley) Croy,
Bobbie was a 1938 graduate of Advance High School. As WW II broke out, Bobbie and her sister, Ruby wanted to help in the effort. So in 1941, they went to the local recruiter's office where Bobbie enlisted in the Marine Corp and Ruby in the Air Force. Bobbie served her country as a telephone switchboard operator until 1945, having attained the rank of Corporal.
On June 16, 1951, Bobbie was united in marriage with Frank Joseph Bogad. Bobbie and Frank were married in the St. Pias Catholic Church in St. Louis, Missouri. Surrounded by family and friends, they had a beautiful celebration of their 50th Wedding Anniversary in 2001. Bobbie and Frank were voted the Waynesville/St. Robert Senior Citizens "King and Queen" in 1996.
Bobbie was a long-time, faithful member of the St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church where she was active in the Altar Society and the Knights of Columbus Council 5401 Ladies Auxiliary. The Ladies Auxiliary honored Bobbie with their "Lady of the Year" award in 1988. Bobbie enjoyed traveling and cooking.
Bobbie went home to be with her Lord the afternoon of Dec. 5, 2003 at the Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla, at the age of 83.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Frank of the home; two sisters: Addie Umfleet and Ella Smith both of Sacramento, Calif.; nine nieces: Stephanie Day of St. Louis; Louise Long, Bernice Whitehead and Lois Vavak all of Advance, Ada Mae Wright, Carol Sue Umfleet and Nancy Houston all of Sacramento, Calif., and Ruth Young and Betty Haupt both of Elk Grove, Calif.; four nephews: Curtis J. Day, Jr. of Suffolk, Va., Randall T.C. Day of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Mike and Dennis Bogad both of St. Louis; several great nieces and nephews; very dear friends: Ray and Lou Kiefer of St. Louis, and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Bobbie was preceded in death by three sisters: Lena Revelle, Hilda Gillim and Ruby Day.
A prayer service was held at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 8, 2003 at Waynesville Memorial Chapel with Monsignor Jerome Sommer officiating.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9 at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church with Father John Groner and Father Brendan Lawless officiating. The servers were Jack Gregory, Agatha Douwnar and Teresa Mecham. Several others also assisted with the service. Music was provided by Mike Beattie and Evelyn Horine. Serving as escorts were Ed Flanigan, Ben Duggan, Clarence Platt, David Voudrie, Jim Nalley, Ray Kiefer and J.T. Roberts.
The U.S. Marine Corp at Fort Leonard Wood provided military honors. Burial was in the Resurrection Cemetery, St. Robert. Services were under the direction of Waynesville Memorial Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church Educational Building Fund in memory of Bobbie Bogad.

Carena Lavera Duncan
Carena Lavera Duncan, of Vienna, was born March 22, 1939, at Vienna, a daughter of Louis John and Christina C. Ewers Renkemeyer, and departed this life at 12:30 a.m., Wednesday morning, February 20, 2002, at her residence in Vienna. Mrs. Duncan had been in failing health for some time and had attained the age of 62.
Mrs. Duncan was united in marriage on February 9, 1957, at Vienna, to John "Jack" Duncan, and to this union four daughters were born. She was preceded in death by her father on August 25, 1987; her mother on December 11, 1994; and one brother, Leander Renkemeyer on May 14, 1951.
Carena mostly enjoyed camping while spending time with her grandchildren on the Gasconade River every summer as well as spending family vacations at Sammy Lane Resort in Branson. She also enjoyed spending time outdoors planting flowers, yard work fishing, boating, and just sitting on the front porch reading.
From 1970 to 1980 she managed the family business which was the Indian Ford Resort on the Gasconade River east of Vienna. She then was employed at the Vienna Senior Citizens Center, and later was a rural mail carrier for the United States Postal Service, until her health would no longer permit.
Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Duncan include: her husband, John "Jack" Duncan of the home in Vienna, four daughters and sons-in-law, Debra and Terry Havens, Vienna; Diana and Steve Deaton, Marshall; Dana and Gary Squires, Vienna; and Denise and Patrick Wilkinson, Vienna; one brother, Robert Renkemeyer, Marthasville; six sisters, Mary Ketchum, Theodoisa; Imogene Wyss, Vienna; Cyrilla Weider, Brazito; Viola Borgmeyer, Union; Verna Key, Wright City; and Norma Logan, Jefferson City; seven grandchildren,and other relatives and friends.
The family is thankful for her faith, support, courageous strength, and love that she has blessed them with for all these years.
Funeral services were conducted for Mrs. Duncan at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 22, 2002, in the Vienna United Methodist Church, with Rev. Karen Alden, pastor, officiating. The Vienna United Methodist Church Choir sang "Victory In Jesus", "Thou Art Worthy", Denise Wilkinson sang "There You'll Be", all were accompanied by pianist Beth Clinkenbeard, and a taped selection of "There Will Come A Day" was played for the funeral service.
Interment was in the Vienna Public Cemetery, under the direction of the Vienna Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes. Active pallbearers for Mrs. Duncan were Terry Havens, Steve Deaton, Gary Squires, Patrick Wilkinson, Joshua Deaton, Matthew Havens, Patrick Havens, Rachel Deaton. Honorary pallbearers were Nathan Squires, Noah Squires, and Bailey Wilkinson.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Vienna Public Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund or the Leukemia Foundation, with envelopes available at the Vienna Office of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes.

Cecilia Ann Callais
Cecilia Ann Callais, daughter of Raymond and Mary (Kishmar) Callais, was born May 26, 1964 at Fort Leonard Wood.
Cecilia grew up in Waynesville where she graduated from high school in 1982. She then completed her Licensed Practical Nurse's training at the Waynesville Technical Academy in 1983.
Cecilia worked on the labor and delivery floor at the General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital for several years. She loved helping deliver and care for the babies, which made her a wonderful nurse. Cecilia enjoyed crafts and was very good and handwork such as crocheting and embroidery. She also liked folklore; reading about Native Americans and Missouri caves. But most of all, Cecilia enjoyed going to Lake of the Ozarks to fish with her Dad.
Cecilia departed this life the evening of Dec. 12, 2002 at the General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital, Fort Leonard Wood at the age of 38.
Cecilia was dearly loved and will be sadly missed by her parents, Raymond and Mary Callais of Waynesville; one brother, Daniel Callais of Tenino, Wash.; and several other relatives and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her brother; Michael Callais.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 19, 2002 at Deerlick Cemetery with Rev. Bill Turner officiating. Serving as honorary escorts were Daniel R. Callais, George S. Kishmar, Renate Phillips and Gary Wann. Services were under the direction of Waynesville Memorial Chapel.

SSG (Ret) Larry Wayne Andrews
Larry Wayne Andrews was born August 15, 1947 in Springfield, Mo. He accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior, and went home the morning of March 24, 2003 at the General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital at Ft. Leonard Wood, at the age of 55 years, 7 months and 9 days.
Larry was a 1966 graduate of Glendale High School. Later that year, he entered the U.S. Army 463rd Military Police Company, serving his country from 1966 to 1987. He was a Vietnam War veteran and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 2 bronze service stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Bronze Star medal, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation, Humanitarian Service Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal (6th award), Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (4th award) , Driver Badge, Sharpshooter Qualification Badge M16 and the Sharpshooter Qualification Badge Pistol Cal 45.
On January 17, 1970, Larry was united in marriage with Carol Jean McMahon, and to this union four daughters were born: Melissa, Marlissa, Marleen and Mindie.
After retiring from the military, Larry went to work for the Missouri Department of Corrections at the Algoa State Prison and later as a security guard for Tan Tar A Resort at Lake of the Ozarks. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing and was a member of the North American Hunting Club.
Larry will be greatly missed by his wife: Carol of the home; his father: Lester Andrews and his wife, Vera of Fair Grove; his mother: Mary Marlin and husband Lowell of Springfield; four daughters: Marlissa Coy of Richland and Melissa Kays and her fiancé, Bruce Farris, Marleen Coakley and husband John and Mindie Andrews and her fiancé, Benjamin Jones all of St. Robert; two sisters: Jennifer Marlin of Springfield and Julie Marlin living in Jordan; four brothers: David Marlin and James Andrews both of Springfield, Jeff Marlin of the state of Minnesota and Richard Andrews of Fair Grove; two grandchildren: Ethan Coy and Devon Andrews, several and other relatives and friends.
Services were held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 27 at Richland Memorial Chapel with Pastor Judi Tillett officiating. Brenda Sands sang and played the piano. SFC Jennings from the U.S. Army 463rd Military Police Company also spoke.
Graveside services with military honors were held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery near Springfield, with Pastor Tillett officiating. Soldiers from the 463rd Military Police Company served as escorts. Services were under the direction of Richland Memorial Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made in memory of SSG (Ret) Larry Andrews and left at the funeral home or with a family member.

Louise Marie Manes
Louise Marie Manes, daughter of Charlie William and Nellie Elizabeth (Crenshaw) Rushing, was born April 11, 1925 in Chicago, Ill. where she grew up and attended school. As a young girl, she attended the Baptist Church and was baptized.
On Sept. 18, 1972, Louise was united in marriage with Tom Manes. They shared 20 memorable years together. Tom preceded her in death on May 28, 1992.
Louise worked as a seamstress for the H.D. Lee Factory in Lebanon and in Richland for 14 years. She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 240.
Louis enjoyed being outdoors, whether it was fishing or gardening. She liked to watch things grow that she had planted with her own hands. She also loved to sew. Most importantly, she cherished the times that she spent with her family and friends.
Louise passed away on Wednesday, July 16, 2003 in a vehicle accident, having attained the age of 78 years, three months and five days.
Louise will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by her daughter, Linda Owen, Richland; one son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Wanda Scott, Springfield, Mo.; seven brothers, Ernie Rushing, St. Louis, Charles Rushing, Jim Rushing, Jerry Rushing, Bill Rushing, Bob Rushing and Allen rushing, all of Metropolis, Ill,; two sisters, Rosie Rushing, Metropolis, Ill. and Pat Barnett of the state of Alabama; three grandchildren, Samantha Beasley, Richland, Clint Scott, Chicago, Ill. and Steve Scott, Springfield; one great-grandson, Tony Scott, Springfield, Mo., along with several other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Elizabeth Rushing; her husband, Tom; one son, Bobby Scott, in 1996 and one grandson, Daniel Beasley.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 19 at Richland Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Mike Hawkins officiating. The recordings, "Peace in the Valley," "Old Rugged Cross," and "Angels Among Us" were played. Serving as escorts were Allen, Bill, Bob, Charles, Ernie, Jerry and Jim Rushing.
Burial followed in the Oaklawn Cemetery, Richland. Services were under the direction of Richland Memorial Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Louise Manes.

Neil Edward Driver
Neil Edward Driver, son of Lester Perry Armine Driver and Elizabeth Anna (Achzig) Driver, was born Dec. 13, 1921 in Nicolaus, California, and passed away from this life Aug. 21, 2003 in Waynesville, at the age of 81. He was a former resident of Sacramento, Calif.
On Nov. 15, 1947 he was united in marriage with Nancy Nadine Potts of Sacramento, and of this union there are two children.
After graduating from high school, he served his country with the United States Army until he was honorably discharged. He worked for the American Can Company, in Sacramento, and the Southern Pacific Railroad. He enjoyed bicycle racing, books, and chronicling his family's history, but his life's love was music, and he played trumpet for many Sacramento dance bands, as well as the Shrine band. He was a dedicated Mason and Shriner.
He is survived by two sons, Dennis L. Driver of Richland and Perry L. Driver of Cocoa, Florida; three granddaughters, Brenda Driver, Elizabeth Driver, and Caitlin Driver.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Elizabeth Driver; his brother, Lester; and his wife Nancy.
Memorial services were held on Sept. 26 at the Richland Masonic Lodge.

Dorothy Mae Robinson
Dorothy Mae Robinson, daughter of John L. and Sadie F. Cardwell Brown, was born May 3, 1931 in Montreal, and departed this life Dec. 2, 2003 in Osage Beach at the age of 72.
On Nov. 5, 1949 she was united in marriage with Stanley Grant Robinson and to this union was born five children.
Dorothy loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, Phyllis Stanton of Lebanon; four sons: Stanley Keith Robinson, John Michael Robinson, Shannon Lee Robinson and wife Betty, all of Richland, Ronald Edward Robinson, Sr. and wife Daisy Ann of Montreal; one brother, Willie Brown and wife Joyce of Adrian; nine grandchildren, Stanley, Keith, Kevin, Randy Lee, Johnny, Marlene, Ron., Jr., Nichole, Colt and Reasa; three great grandchildren, Dylan, Kyten and Layne; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Stanley; one brother, John L. Brown; one daughter-in-law, Joyce Robinson; and one granddaughter, Charlene Stanton.
Dorothy was a loving, caring person and will be great missed by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral service for Mrs. Robinson was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2003 at Colonial Chapel, Richland, with Chris Robinson officiating. Music was provided by Paula Walters and taped selections were played. Escorts were Stanley Robinson, Randy Stanton, Colt Robinson, Kevin Robinson, Ronald Robinson, Jr., Jack Brown and Leonard Henry.
Burial was in Highpoint Cemetery, under the direction of Thieme-Shadel-Hicks Funeral Service at Colonial Chapel.
