Doris Marie Hendricks, daughter of Junie and Minnie Marie Barnett Ogle was born Jan. 26, 1938 in Richland and departed this life July 6, 2002, at her home in Richland at the age of 65 years, five months and ten days.
On March 23, 1957, she was united in marriage with Garner Hendricks, and to this union was born two daughters.
She was employed by the H.D. Lee Company for 30 years before retiring. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, cooking, gardening, canning and being with her family and friends. She especially loved the time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by two daughters, Regina Decker and her husband Bill of Swedeborg, Paula Case and her husband Dale of Richland; for brothers, Clifford, Ralph and Gary Ogle, all of Richland; Harold Gene Ogle of Bellville, Mich.; three sisters, Margaret Frederick, Montreal; Marsha Patton, Richland; Theresa Springer, Marshfield; five grandchildren, Andrew, Robert and J.W. Decker, Lucas and Emily Case; two great-grandchildren, Ruth Anna and Sammie Decker; other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Garner Hendricks, one brother, Tennis Ogle and two sisters, Mary Louise Durreman and Evelyn Perkins.
Doris was a loving, caring person and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Services was held Wednesday, July 9, 10 a.m. at Colonial Chapel with Pastor Doug Jacobson and Rev. Bill Claiborn officiating. Music was provided by Lucas Case and Jimmy Moore.
Escorts were Bill Decker, Clifford Ogle, Ralph Ogle, Dale Case, Gene Ogle, and Gary Ogle. Honorary escorts were Hadley Frederick, Danny Patton, and Steve Springer.
Mary Eveline Newell
Mary Eveline Newell, daughter of Wilbur and Flora Ellen Cullen Walters, was born April 6, 1927, in the State of Oklahoma. She departed this life Tuesday, July 22, 2003 in her home near Camdenton, at the age of seventy-six years.
On March 8, 1944 she was united in marriage to J. Cecil Newell, and to this union three daughters and one son were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Cecil, on Dec. 17, 1985; three grandsons, Eric Eugene, Stacey Todd, and Travis Scott Snellings.
Eveline is survived by three daughters, Fern Elizabeth Webster and husband Claudie, and Susie Patton and husband Tommy, all of Camdenton, and Kathleen Gail Lewis and husband Tariq of Lebanon; a son, J.C. Newell and wife Dianna of Camdenton; thirteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; three brothers, Gilbert and Dave Walters, both of Camdenton, and Glen Walters of the State of California; two sisters, Betty Jo McGuire and Betty Lou Rogers, both of Camdenton; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born in Oklahoma and then moved with her family to Camdenton when she was one month old. After she and Cecil were married, they made their home in Camden County and lovingly raised their children. Besides being a devoted homemaker to her family, Eveline also worked at Dove Care Center and Blair Cedar in Camdenton.
Eveline made her profession of faith in Christ early in her life and was a member of Mount Horeb Missionary Baptist Church.
In her spare time she enjoyed quilting and reading her Bible. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren.
Eveline was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 27, 2003 at Decaturville Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Burns officiating. Escorts were Tariq Lewis, Ben Newell, Dan Newell, Brandon Waterman, David Webster and Padrick Webster. Honorary Escorts were Donnie Ginnings, Willie Ginnings, Jimmy McGuire and Steve Nations.
Burial was in Mount Horeb Cemetery under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home. A memorial has been established for Mt. Horeb Cemetery and contributions may be left at the funeral home.
Harold James Agan
Harold James Agan, son of William and Lois Mae Wood Agan, was born May 8, 1937 in Lebanon, Mo., and departed this life peacefully at his home Sept. 9, 2003 at the age of 60 years.
After graduating from Lebanon High School in 1955, he was united in marriage with June Melton; she preceded him in death in 1965. In November of 1969, he was united in marriage with Mary Odom.
Jim loved the Lord. He was saved at age 15 and was baptized in January of 1952 in Bennett Spring.
He served his country with the United States Army from Oct. 26, 1955 until he was honorably discharged June 30, 1972. Jim retired from civil service in 1991.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family and friends. His zest for life and great sense of humor will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife Mary of the home; three sons, Steve Agan of Portland, Oregon, Joe Agan and wife Pennie of Marshfield, and Harold Agan of Richland; four daughters, Paula Agan, Jefferson City, Jennifer Wease and husband Dennis, Holt Summit, Debra Morris and husband Clyde, Crocker, and Leslie Dube and husband Mike, Newport, N.H.; a very special aunt and uncle, Lyman and Agnes Agan of Lebanon; thirteen grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 11, 2003 at Colonial Chapel, Richland, with Dr. Mike Hawkins and Rev. Rocky Harris officiating. Music was provided by Christopher Robinson, Soloist, and DeLoros Shadel, Organist. Escorts were Larry Heafley, Tom Agan, John Odom, Gary Heafley, Ron Agan and Dwight Enfield. Honorary Escorts were Clyde Morris, Christopher Wease, Marion Morris, Joe Pittman, Jim Lamar and Paul Agan.
Burial was in Hufft Cemetery under the direction of Thieme-Shadel-Hicks Funeral Service at Colonial Chapel.
Mabel DeLong
Mabel Irene (Bell) Medley DeLong, 94 of St. Robert, a retired civil service employee, died at 9:20 p.m. Tuesday, January 29, 2002 at the Sunset Village of the Ozarks Med Center, St. Robert.
Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 1, at Waynesville Memorial Chapel. Burial was in the Hooker Cemetery, Devils Elbow under the direction of Waynesville Memorial Chapel.
Mrs. DeLong is survived by one daughter: Mary Annalou Gordon of Waynesville; two brothers: Clifford Lee Medley and Leonard Dale DeLong both of Newburg; one brother: Homer Bell of Tuscumbia and two sisters: Olive Roy of St. Louis and Pearl Woods of Rolla. Also surviving are 23 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; 21 great-great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Thomas Wade "Tom" Cotton
Thomas Wade "Tom" Cotton, son of Willie Louis and Nannie Mae (Harbour) Cotton was born Dec. 14, 1952 in Ft. Campbell, Ken. Being part of a military family meant that Tom moved quite a bit during his childhood. He moved with his family from Germany to Waynesville where he graduated from high school in 1970.
Tom was employed for a while at University of Missouri Medical Center - Columbia and was currently employed at Collins & Aikman Company of Columbia.
Tom was an avid bowler. He volunteered for different organizations, such as the Show Me Games. He enjoyed showing others how to bowl. He was very proud of bowling a 300 game and having his name in the Missouri Bowlers Hall of Fame in St. Louis.
Tom died the evening of Thurs., Feb. 27, 2003 at University of Missouri Medical Center in Columbia due to injuries sustained in a vehicle accident, having attained the age of 50 years.
Tom will be sadly missed by his parents: Willie and Nannie Mae Cotton of St. Robert; one sister: Annie Cotton of Germany; one brother: Edward Cotton of Louisville, Kentucky; one nephew: Addison Cotton of Louisville, Kentucky; many other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held at 1p.m., Friday, March 7 at Waynesville Memorial Chapel with Pastor William Boone officiating. Scripture was read by Minister Eddie Goodman and a prayer was offered by Minister Terrance Golden. Minister Hubert Quiller provided the music. Serving as escorts were Minister Terrance Golden, Minister Eddie Goodman, Brother Derrick Johnson, Deacon Samuel Steele and Brother Johnny Thompson.
Burial followed in the Waynesville Memorial Park Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Waynesville Memorial Chapel.
Memorial gifts may be donated to the Cotton Family Scholarship Fund in memory of Thomas Cotton and may be left at the funeral home.
Ruby Irene Patton
Ruby Irene Patton, daughter of Thomas Elmer Allen and Nellie McElree Allen, was born July 23, 1924 in Hawkeye and departed this life July 23, 2003 at her home near Stoutland at the age of seventy-nine years.
On November 21, 1942 she was united in marriage with Linvil Patton, and to this union was born five children.
At the time of her death, she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Richland.
Ruby was employed with H.D. Lee for eighteen years before retiring. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by one daughter, Mary Patton of the home; three sons, Larry Patton and wife Cheryl and Lloyd Patton, all of Stoutland, Tommy Patton and wife Susie of Lebanon; two brothers, Wayne Allen of Lone Jack, Tommy Allen of Richland; seven grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Linvil Patton; one infant daughter, Sharon Kay Patton; and one brother, Lloyd Allen.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 26, 2003 at Colonial Chapel, Richland, with Dr. Mike Hawkins officiating. Escorts were Andrew Douglas, Mark Patton, Derek Patton, Ashley Douglas, Adam Douglas, Tim Patton, Brent Brown and Amanda Patton.
Burial was in Bethlehem Cemetery under the direction of Thieme-Shadel-Hicks Funeral Service at Colonial Chapel.
Loretta Fay Stevens
Loretta Fay Stevens, daughter of the late Warner and Rachel (Reed) Wright was born Sept. 8, 1938 in Oklahoma.
When Loretta was very young, the family moved to Ropesville, Texas where she grew up and attended school.
Loretta worked in the deli at the Pavilion for several years while living in the Los Angeles, Calif. area. She moved to the St. Robert area in 2000 where she worked in the deli department for Smitty's Grocery in Waynesville, and was currently employed with Wal-Mart in St. Robert.
Loretta enjoyed a special talent of working with wood. She took great pride in the many pieces of fine furniture she made.
Loretta departed this life Thursday morning, August 11, 2003 at her home near St. Robert at the age of 65 years.
Loretta will be sadly missed by four children: Gene Hicks and his wife Nelissa of Chino, Calif., Art Hicks and his wife Kristi of Bakersfield, Calif., Theresa Stevens Hickock of Bakersfield, Calif. and Vickey Leach and her husband Marc of St. Robert; two sisters: Patsy Cummings of Colorado Springs, Col. and Berniece Hicks of the State of Oklahoma; one brother: Gus Wright of the State of New Mexico; 11 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 14 at Sunset Memorial Estates Cemetery with Minister Stan Little officiating. Serving as escorts were Art and Gene Hicks and Christopher, Jeremiah and Marc Leach. Services were under the direction of Waynesville Memorial Chapel.
