Alexander Michael Payne, stillborn infant son of Capt. Robert and Christi Payne of St. Robert, Missouri, was delivered at 6:42 p.m., Sunday, January 20, 2002 at General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital, Fort Leonard Wood.
In addition to his parents, baby Alexander also leaves maternal grandparents: Bruce and Deanna Rideout of Raleigh, North Carolina; paternal grandparents: Thomas and Samantha Payne of Springfield and paternal grandmother: Rosa Payne of San Jose, California. Also surviving are maternal great grandparents: Chester and Elaine Rideout of Glenburn, Maine; maternal great grandmother: Dorothy Cayford of Bangor, Maine; paternal great grandfather: Thomas Payne, Sr. of Hilton Head, South Carolina and paternal great grandparents: Judge Sam and Lora Mason of Ft. Scott, Kansas. Other survivors include: maternal aunts: Dawn Partin of Apex, North Carolina and Loretta Rideout of Bangor, Maine; paternal uncle: Thomas Samuel Payne of Springfield and paternal aunt: Angela Alfaro of San Jose, California.
Prayers were offered by Father John Groner of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church prior to a graveside service which was held Friday afternoon, January 20th at Sunset Memorial Estates Cemetery with Chaplain (Capt.) Nana E. Bassaw officiating. Alexander's grandfathers, Thomas Payne and Bruce Rideout served as escorts. Services were under direction of Waynesville Memorial Chapel.
Lula E. Bowling
Lula E. Bowling was born January 4, 1913 at Caledonia, Mo., in Washington County. She was one of 11 children born to the union of Thomas Alexander and Nora (Souder) Beals.
On June 17, 1932 Lula was united in marriage with William Albert Bowling and to this union six children were born: Sarah Ellen, Jim, Ruth, Billy, Henry, and Rick.
Lula was a long-time member of the First Christian Church in Waynesville where she was active until her health no longer permitted her attendance.
Lula dedicated her life to the love and care of her family. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother.
Lula went home to be with her Lord the morning of November 28, 2002 at her home in Buckhorn, at the age of 89 years.
She will be very sadly missed by her daughter, Ruth Mann and husband Frank, and her son, Rick Bowling and wife Angela, all of Buckhorn. She also leaves two brothers: Sam Beals of Buckhorn and Bill Beals of Parma, Idaho; thirteen grandchildren, several great grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Lula will be reunited with her parents: Tom and Nora Beals; her husband: Bill; three sons: Jim, Billy and Henry; her daughter Sarah Ellen Cogar; two brothers: Jim and Tom Beals and six sisters: Marie Rayl, Gertrude Bartz, Doris Baney, Lucy McClary and two infants.
A homegoing service was held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 30 at Waynesville Memorial Chapel with Rev. Larry Atkins officiating. "Amazing Grace," "The Old Rugged Cross" and "The Unclouded Day" were played. Serving as escorts were Ronnie and Tommy Bowling, Dean and Steven Cogar and Kenny and Tim Mann. Serving as honorary escorts were Donnie and William Bowling, Donnie Cogar and Gary Day.
Burial followed at the Idumea Cemetery in Laquey. Services were under the direction of Waynesville Memorial Chapel.

Jewell Hutsler
Jewell "Bud" Hutsler, age 76 of Iberia, died Wednesday, April 2, 2003 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield as the result of injuries sustained in a traffic accident near Conway. He was born in Iberia on March 1, 1927, a son of Barney Hanes and Julia Ann (Smith) Hustler. On June 11, 1955, in Crocker, he was married to Vonda Lee Duncan, who survives of the home.
He was a Navy Veteran of World War II serving on the US Aircraft Carrier the "Bairoko". He retired from Lee Way Motor Freight as an over the road driver and was honored for having driven over a million miles accident free. He was a member of Mason Ridge Community Church near Meta and Crocker Christian Church.
Others who survive him include: 1 daughter and son-in-law Debra Dawn and David Fortner of St. Louis and numerous nieces and nephews.
A brother, Gene Henry Hutsler, preceded him in death.
Services were at 2 p.m., Tuesday, April 8, 2003 at Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Rev. Larry Neal officiated. Interment, with military honors, is at Iberia Cemetery.
William Harold "Bill" Turner
William Harold "Bill" Turner, son of the late Theron Herold and Effie Mae (Brown) Turner, was born Nov. 7, 1950 in Waynesville, where he grew up and graduated from the Waynesville High School in 1969.
Bill was drafted into the United States Army and served his country in March of 1970. He received a medical discharge due to an injury after having only served two weeks. Bill worked as a custodian for most of his adult life. He was employed for several years at the Columbia Bus Depot and then later at the Ramada Inn of Columbia. He enjoyed meeting such a wide array of people through his many years of working and made several long lasting friends. Bill passed away the morning of Saturday, Nov. 15, 2003 at the Harry S Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital in Columbia, having attained the age of 53 years. Bill is survived by two brothers: Bobby Joe Turner of Columbia and Carl Leonard Turner of Waynesville; five sisters: Beti Le Mentola of Rolla, Dorothy Jane Turner of Springfield, Darlene Lewis of Temple, Texas, Irene Joyce Hall of Millington, Tenn., and Charlotte Marie Brown of Canton, Ohio; several other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister. A graveside service was held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19 at Deerlick Cemetery near Waynesville, with Rev. Danny Graves officiating. Family and friends served as escorts. Services were under the direction of Waynesville Memorial Chapel.

Samuel Gregory Royal
Samuel Gregory Royal was born September 21, 1976 at Camp Legeune, North Carolina, to parents Paul Gregory Royal and Jeane E. (Farver).
After a bout with cancer, Sam was called home the evening of January 10, 2002 at his father's home in Clarksville, Tennessee. He was 25-years-old.
Sam's gifts from God were evident very early in his life. He was a natural athlete. He loved football and played often with his friends. When he was very young, Sam lived on a golf course, so he picked up a club and began playing at the tender age of eight. He developed a lifelong love for the game. Sam was a letterman on the High School Golf Team at Ft. Campbell, Kentucky, and competed throughout Tennessee and Kentucky. He was a 1994 graduate of Northeast High School in Clarksville. His natural drawing ability took him to the Nashville Art School. Sam sang in the Honor Choir at Balboa Elementary School while living in the Republic of Panama, and continued singing throughout the rest of his life. He wrote and sang most of the music he played on his electric guitar.
Sam was a "gamer," excelling at all video games he ever played. He loved the great outdoors, especially hiking, camping trips and fishing. He had a passion for adventure. One of his proudest moments was climbing an 11,000 foot mountain with his brother while on a trip to Austria. Sam was also a big fan and supporter of the Tennessee Titans and rarely missed a game.
Before his health no longer permitted, Sam worked as a framer and finisher of homes in the Clarksville area. Previous to that, he was the Lead Cook at Chili's, Shoney's and Red Lobster Restaurants.
Sam leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Jeane Tappe of St. Robert; his father, Paul Royal and his wife, Angie; and his daughter, Kalen Sai Royal and her mother, Dana Schrum, all of Clarksville, Tenn. Also surviving are three brothers: Doug Royal of Columbia, and Michael and Jonathan Tappe, both of St. Robert; one sister, Jamie Hennessy of St. Robert; and many other relatives and friends.
Preceding Sam in death were his Grandma and Grandpa Farver, Grandma and Grandpa Royal, and his first cousin Jammie Wilson, who also died of cancer at age 25.
A praise and worship service was held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, January 20 at the Rock of Ages Church, St. Robert, with Pastor Tim O'Brien officiating. Sam's uncle Steve Farver read the obituary and his brother, Doug Royal gave a eulogy. Sam's sister, Jamie Hennessy and his mother, Jeane Tappe shared special memories. Tracy O'Brien led the congregation in singing "Yahweh" and "Amazing Grace." The songs "Heaven" and "I Can Only Imagine" were also played. Pianist Nancy Farver played the prelude. Inurnment was in the Sunset Memorial Estates Columbarium.

SFC (Ret) Thomas Leo Barnes
Thomas Leo Barnes, son of the late William and Constance (Hymer) Barnes, was born August 6, 1935 in Guthrie, Oklahoma.
In 1953, Tom entered the U.S. Army. He was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars. Tom served his country with great pride and dignity, and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal (5th award), Vietnam Service Medal with 2 bronze service stars, National Defense Service Medal, Aircraft Corpsman Badge, 2 Overseas Service Bars, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation with palm, the Rifle Expert Badge and the Meritorious Service Medal. Sergeant First Class Barnes retired from active service in 1975.
On July 29, 1982, Tom married Helen Lentz in Ardmore, Oklahoma. Tom and Helen shared two sons: Tyler Lentz Barnes and Travis Lewis Barnes.
After retiring from the military, Tom began his truck driving career in Texas. He relocated to Oklahoma before moving to Crocker. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing.
Tom departed this life the evening of November 25, 2002 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis at the age of 67 years.
Tom will be missed and remembered by many relatives and friends and loved forever by Helen, Tyler and Travis.
A celebration of life was held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 29 at Waynesville Memorial Chapel with Rev. Raymond "Pete" Chapman officiating. Tom's very good friends, Jack Fincher, read the obituary and gave a lovely eulogy. "Go Rest High On That Mountain" and "A Love Without End" were played. The family made a beautiful video tribute that was also played. The U.S. Army at Fort Leonard Wood provided military honors.
Services were under the direction of Waynesville Memorial Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society and left at the funeral home.
Lawrence Everett (Sag) Sagaser
Lawrence Everett (Sag) Sagaser, son of William Everett Sagaser and Winnie Francis Dickinson Sagaser, was born April 1, 1923 in Kansas City, Mo., and departed this life August 13, 2003 in Columbia at the age of eighty years.
On June 1, 1947 he was united in marriage with Mavis Rowene Bellington, and of this union are four children.
He professed his faith in Christ at an early age, and at the time of his death was a member of the Eureka Baptist Church.
Lawrence served his country with the United States Army Air Corp from December 12, 1942 until he was honorably discharged December 29, 1945. He was employed with Armco Steel in Kansas City for thirty five years, retiring in 1983. He served at a Boy Scout leader for several years, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, visiting and being around his family and friends. He never met a stranger.
He is survived by his loving wife Rowene of the home; two sons, Michael Everett Sagaser and wife Marsha, Conroe, Texas, and Steven Lawrence Sagaser and wife Renee, Bolivar; two daughters, Roberta Carol Phillips and husband Duane, Grandview, and Dorinda Rowene Sagaser of Richland; one sister, Carolyn Beltz, Ft. Scott, Kan.; three grandchildren, Joshua Michael Sagaser, Dustin Loren Sagaser, John Sagaser Wiss and wife Jennifer; one great grandchild, Katie Marie Wiss; other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one infant brother.
Services for Mr. Sagaser were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 16, 2003 at Eureka Baptist Church, Richland, with Rev. Joe Porter, Pastor Douglas Jacobson and Rev. R. Paul Bellington officiating. Music was provided by Bernice Brackett and Duane Phillips, with congregational singing. Escorts were Jon Sagaser Wiss, Dustin Loren Sagaser, Donald Wayne Nickels, Michael Dale Kiser, Joshua Michael Sagaser, Mark Beltz, Jeff Kiser and Bruce Bellington. Honorary Escorts were Ronald Beltz, Larry Bellington, John Mark Bellington, Mark Bellington, Johnny Ray Bellington, Eugene Noe, Charles Davis Wilson, Paul Bellington, Jr., Timothy Bellington, Rick Bellington, Kevin Bellington and Charles (Red) Perrill.
Burial was in Oaklawn Cemetery, Richland, with services under the direction of Thieme-Shadel-Hicks Funeral Service at Colonial Chapel, Richland.
