James Daniel Piggott, age 75 of Iberia, died Friday, Oct. 18, 2002, at Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach. He was born in McKenzie, Ala., on June 21, 1927, a son of Emory and Sidia Mae (Booker) Piggott. On May 23, 1948, in Waynesville, he was married to Ruby Hensley, who survived at the home.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. He retired from the Navy after 20 years of service. He worked as a cook at several restaurants in the Lake area. He was a member of the Crocker VFW Post 4956, the Iberia American Legion Post 105, and the Disabled American Veterans. He was a member of the Iberia Masonic Lodge #410 AF and AM, the Military Order of the Cooties, the Abou Ben Adem Temple in Springfield, and the Iberia Lions Club.
Others who survived him include: three sons, Tommy Piggott and Jimmy Piggott both of Iberia and Daniel Piggott of Brumley; two daughters, Linda Sue Schreve and Mary Jo Cochran both of Iberia; three sisters; 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
A grandson preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.
Services were at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 21, at Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia. Rev. Dennis Nichols officiated. Interment, with military honors, will be in Union Cemetery near Iberia.
Carrol Ann Bowling
Carrol Ann Bowling, daughter of Audy and Lela "PeeWee" Prock Williams, was born November 7, 1946 in Buckhorn and departed this life May 24, 2003 near Richland at the age of fifty-six years.
On April 20, 1968 she was united in marriage with James "Jim" Albert Bowling and to this union were born two children.
Carrol accepted Christ at an early age; at the time of her death she was a member of New Friendship Baptist Church.
Carrol was a hard worker and an excellent cook. Her hobbies included crafts, crocheting, shirt painting, wood painting and most of all, being around her family and friends.
She is survived by two daughters, Tina Miller and husband Ronald, Lela Bowling and fiance Anthony Payne, all of Waynesville; three brothers, Gene Williams and wife Karen, Don Prock and wife Carolyn, and Walter Williams, all of Waynesville; one sister, Marilyn Smith and husband Tyce of Waynesville; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband James "Jim" Albert Bowling.
Carrol was a lovely Christian lady and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Services for Carrol Bowling were held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 29, 2003 at New Friendship Baptist Church with Merrill Jeffries officiating. Escorts were Roger Williams, Deanie Cogar, Mike Greer, Ryan Williams, Kenny Mann and Darold Wieners. Honorary Escorts were William Bowling and Gary Day.
Burial was in Idumea Cemetery under the direction of Thieme-Shadel-Hicks Funeral Service at Colonial Chapel.
Juanita M. Atwill
Juanita M. Atwill, age 92, departed this life on May 27, 2003, at the home of her son in Springfield, Missouri after having been failing health for some time.
Juanita was born on August 10, 1910, in Licking, Missouri, the daughter of Charles H. and Mae (Lynn) Evers. She graduated from Lebanon High School, Iberia Junior College and Drury University in Springfield.
Juanita was united in marriage on June 30, 1934 to Floyd Atwill and to this union one son, Lewis F. Atwill was born.
Upon moving to Waynesville in 1950, she continued a career in teaching, having it interrupted only while serving as Postmistress of Waynesville during the late 1950's. Juanita retired from the Waynesville School District in 1975.
During the more than 40 years that Juanita lived in Waynesville, she participated in many church and community activities. She was a member of the Waynesville United Methodist Church where she belonged to the United Methodist Women's group, serving a term as its president.
Juanita was a Past Matron of Hanson Chapter #22, Order of the Eastern Star and was an active member for over 25 years.
She was also a past member of Theta Conclave, Kappa Kappa Iota Sorority, Waynesville, and served as its president 1977-1978.
Juanita was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd of 61 years. Also preceding her in death were her parents: Charlie and Mae; two brothers: Bill and Milton Evers and one sister: Virginia Smith.
She is survived by a son: Lewis and daughter-in-law, Pokey and granddaughter, Michelle, all of Springfield, Missouri.
A graveside service was held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 30 at Waynesville Memorial Park Cemetery with Laura Milner officiating. Services were under the direction of Waynesville Memorial Chapel.

Mona Violet Mitchell
Mona Violet Mitchell, daughter of Robert and Eva Johnson Hendricks, was born April 11, 1904 in Crocker, and departed this life Friday, May 30, 2003 in Lake Regional Health Systems, Osage Beach. She had attained the age of 99 years.
Mona was united in marriage on September 2, 1925 at Kansas City, Kansas, to James M. (Dutch) Mitchell, and to this union one son, James Robert Mitchell, was born.
After working for many years as a civil service employee at both Ft. Leonard Wood and an air force base in Kansas City, she retired at one of the highest civilian levels at Ft. Leonard Wood. During this time very few women were promoted to management positions. Mona overcame this obstacle and became Traffic Manager of the Transportation Department, the second highest female position at Ft. Leonard Wood. She was a role model for many other female federal employees and gave them hope for a successful future.
She loved her family and enjoyed a very active life. Mona was blessed with good health and has been a vital part of four generations. Many of her fine characteristics are exhibited in the Mitchell family today.
Those surviving Mona include one son, James Robert and wife Shirley of Crocker; two grandsons: Gary of Osage Beach, and Jim and wife Terri of Richland; two great-grandchildren: Mona Elizabeth and James Levi of Richland; one great-great-grandson, Brayden of Richland; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and one brother.
Funeral services for Mona Mitchell were conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, June 1, 2003 in the Long Funeral Home, Crocker, with Pastor Doug Jacobson officiating. Music was provided by soloist, Barbara Helms, accompanied by Lisa Schwardt.
Interment was in the Crocker Cemetery under the direction of the Long Funeral Home, Crocker. Escorts for Mona were Dale Summerford, John Marso, Tom Kinsley, Dr. John Mihalevich, Shirrell Woolery, and Larry Salveter.
Lester Lee Keeth, Sr.
Lester Lee Keeth, Sr., one of the four children born to the union of Wayne P. and Vivian (Ferguson) Keeth, was born Oct. 4, 1943 in Waynesville. He departed this life the afternoon of Sept. 25, 2002 at the Medical Center of Independence, at the age of 58.
Lester graduated from Waynesville High School in 1961. During his high school years, he worked at Wayne's Service Station in downtown Waynesville.
In 1968, Lester went to work at the prison in Jefferson City while attending Lincoln University where he earned his Bachelor's degree. From 1973 until the time of his passing, Lester was the electric/utility plant manager at the Missouri Public Service Company known as "Aquila" in Sibley.
On Dec. 15, 1973, Lester married Glynda I. Petersen. Together, Lester and Glynda shared nearly 29 years of marriage and three children, Lester, Robert and Barbara.
Lester was a big sports fan and enjoyed family gatherings.
He was dearly loved and will be sadly missed by his wife, Glynda of the home; two sons: Lester Keeth, Jr. and his wife Linda of Sparta, and Robert A. Agan and his wife Karen of Blue Springs and one daughter: Barbara Wood of Jefferson City. He also leaves one brother Edward Keeth and his wife Beth of Springfield; two grandsons: Colby Keeth and Blake Agan; several nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Lester was preceded in death by his parents: Wayne and Vivian; his brother: Larry Keeth, Sr. and his sister: Barbara Keeth.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28 at Waynesville Memorial Chapel with Rev. Mark Rounsaville officiating. Pianist, Mary Lou Long played as Rev. Rounsaville sang, "In the Garden" and "Mansion Over the Hilltop." Rev. Rounsaville also sang, "Beulah Land." Serving as escorts were John Browning, Tony Finney, Glenn Keefe, Larry Keeth, Jr., Harold Perry, Doyle, Jim and Steve Rentz and Tony Young.
Burial was in the Crocker Memorial Park Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Waynesville Memorial Chapel.

Thomas Randolph "Randy" Browne
Thomas Randolph "Randy" Browne was born December 2, 1925 in St. Louis, Missouri. He was one of three sons born to the union of Thomas Gibson Browne and Nell Cleage Browne. His parents moved to Springfield, Missouri and Randy graduated from Central High School in 1943. Shortly after graduating, he joined the United States Navy and was discharged on May 17, 1946 as Machinists Mate G. Third Class SV6.
On March 29, 1946, he was united in marriage to Jean Etta Ballew in Columbus, Kansas and to this union two daughters: Randee Jean and Rebecca Ballew were born.
Randy and Jean lived in Lebanon and Waynesville where they were active in businesses. They moved to Dallas, Texas in 1980. Randy worked in sales and marketing for several companies. They returned to Waynesville in 1996 for retirement. Randy became a realtor and was a member of the Pulaski County Board of Realtors. He worked until his health began failing in November of 2002.
Randy was baptized at an early age in the Presbyterian Church. =After his marriage to Jean, he joined the Waynesville United Methodist Church. He was a member of the choir, loved music and his beautiful bass voice will be remembered by family and friends.
Randy was a family man. He deeply loved his family, grandchildren, and all children. He had a passion for the game of golf. He received 7 "Hole-In-One" awards at various courses over the years.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Jean of the home, two daughters: Randee Jean and husband, Richard Gibson of Overland Park, Kansas and Rebecca Ballew and husband Paul West of Waynesville; five grandchildren: Molly Nell, Ferryl Browne and Andrew Skyler Gibson, James Donovan Agee and Braden Randolph West; one brother: Richard Van Dyke and his wife Mary of St. Louis; one sister-in-law: Maxine Farnham of Waynesville; his niece: Susan and her husband Erv Morriss of Waynesville; other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother: D. Gibson Browne.
Randy was six feet tall and slender for his lifetime. He walked in grace and dignity and was a "Good sailor" until the end. We will miss him.
A memorial service was held at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 28, 2003 at the Waynesville United Methodist Church with Rev. Paul Catterton officiating. Bob Chartier and Judge Douglas E. Long, Jr. gave beautiful eulogies. Erv Morriss read the obituary, shared lovely thoughts and read a letter written by Randy's brother, Richard. David and Kathy Lawson played the organ for the postlude and prelude. Suzi Reznicek, Cheryl Wood and David Jackson were accompanied by Pianist Kathy Miller as they sang "Come unto Me," "Memory," "How Beautiful upon the Mountains," and "Alleluia." The flag was presented to the family by sailors with the United States Navy. Services were under the direction of Waynesville Memorial Chapel.

Michelle Lea Wagner-Reller
Michelle Lea Wagner-Reller, daughter of Leland "Curley" Wagner and Helen (York) Wagner, was born July 30, 1956 in Little Rock, Ark.
Michelle grew up in Waynesville where she graduated from high school in 1975.
On Dec. 13, 1989, Michelle was united in marriage with Robert James Reller. They share two children: Heather Dawn Dye and Aaron Andrew Franklin.
Michelle was a member of the Victory Fellowship Church. She loved God and served Him the best way she knew how. She had the gift of loving and caring for others, and sacrificed herself in place of the needs of others. She had a special place in her heart for animals.
Michelle departed this life June 2, 2003 at her home in Waynesville at the age of 46.
She was devoted to her family and offered support to all who knew her. She will be greatly missed by her husband: Robert James Reller and two children Heather Dawn Dye and Aaron Andrew Franklin all of the home. She also leaves her mother: Helen Wagner of Waynesville; one brother Michael Harrod and his wife, Leal of Cabot, Ark. and three sisters Sherry Roy and her husband, Adam of Springfield; Melissa Basford and her husband, Troy of Buckhorn and Sabrina Rightnowar and her husband, Mark of Cape Girardeau. Also surviving are her cherished nieces and nephews Alexa and Leigh-san Harrod, David and Stormi Telenico, Astrid Nicks, Travis Basford, Savanna Trizzary and Haley Rightnowar, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and friends whom she loved dearly.
Michelle was preceded in death by her father Curley Wagner (1995) and her maternal and paternal grandparents.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 6, 2003 at Victory Fellowship Church in Waynesville with Rev. Frank Brunais and Rev. Archie York officiating. Several family members shared wonderful memories they had. Pianist Brenda Overby played "I Can See Clearly Now" and "Somewhereat the Foot of the Throne" as instrumentals. Brenda Overby and Sabrina Rightnowar sang "Breathe" and were joined by Sherry Roy as they sang "Amazing Grace." Heather Dye and Brenda Overby sang "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot." Escorts were Sherry Dye, Mark Rightnowar, Melissa Basford, Adam Roy, Sabrina Rightnowar and Heather Dye. Honorary escorts were Terry Hilliard, Archie C. York, Ricky York, Kenneth R. York and Bobby G. York.
Burial followed in the Sunset Memorial Estates Cemetery in Waynesville. Services were under the direction of Waynesville Memorial Chapel.
