Susie worked alongside of Wendell at Downtown 66 in Waynesville for over 25 years. She had a zest for life, family and friends, and never met a stranger. Her love of family not only included her children, but extended to their spouses, Sherry and Lonnie, who were treated like her own children. But where her love shone through the most was with her grandchildren. When she started talking about the grandkids, you knew you were in for a long conversation.
Susie enjoyed the closeness of her immediate family, but she extended this same warmth to aunts, uncles and cousins. Susie was absolutely in love with the family unit. Her family and friends knew that when you had a telephone conversation with her you better find your favorite chair and enjoy the visit, because it was the same as sitting across the dining room table from her.
One of the greatest joys of Susie's life was playing on the award winning Women's Tuesday Morning Coffee League bowling team at Buckhorn. Her love of the game and the friendships that she made were evident, because when she was ill, she would still have Wendell take her to the bowling alley so she could share the companionship of her friends. She and Wendell also loved going to horse shows all over the state, and swimming in their pool.
Susie departed this life the afternoon of February 12, 2003 at St. John's Breech Regional Hospital in Lebanon, Missouri at the age of 60 years, 10 months and 6 days.

She also leaves her beloved grandchildren: Becky Acosta and her husband, Ignacio, Keith Campbell, and Michael, Christopher and Shelby Wilson; one great grandson: Nathaniel Acosta; several other relatives and a host of friends.
She will join in heaven, her mother: Nova, her son: Jay, and many other loving family and friends that have passed before her.
