James Browning Norris
James B. Norris the son of Kenneth E. and Edith (Bryant) Norris was born in Logan County, West Virginia, April 26, 1940 and passed away at his home in Summersville on Sunday, September 16, 2007 making his age 67 years 4 months and 21 days.
He was united in marriage to Robin Lynn Prather. To their union, two children were born, a son Jimmy Lee Norris and a daughter Olga Rose Norris.
James enjoyed visiting with friends and hunting. He like to put puzzles together with his wife Robin and daughter Rose.
Preceding James in death are his adopted parents, father Kenneth E. Norris, mother Edith K. Norris; previous wife Olga Rose Horvath Norris; sisters, Mary Gay and Kitty Baier; his birth father Van Buren Browning II and his birth mother Gracie Marie Workman Browning.
James is survived by his wife of 28 years, Robin L. Norris of Summersville; two sons, James E. Norris of West Virginia; Jimmy Lee Norris of Summersville, MO; two daughters, Sheryl Ann Norris of West Virginia; and Olga Rose Norris of Summersville, MO; two grandsons, Geoffrey W. Norris and Heath Platz; one grand-daughter Anna K. Norris; one brother Van Buren Browning III; two sisters, Katrina Lily Workman and Susie Crowder all of West Virginia; a host of nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services will be held at the Norris family home Rt 1 Box 1871 Summersville on Saturday, September 22, 2007 at 12 Noon. The ashes will be interred at a later date in Glengary, West Virginia. Arrangements were under the care of Bradford Funeral Home

Linda Murline Payne
Linda Murline Payne the daughter of William Murl Johnson and Edna Mae
Leach Johnson was born January 3, 1950 in Holcomb, Missouri. Linda passed away Friday evening, September 14, 2007 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Missouri making her age 57 years.
Linda was united in marriage to Harvey Don Payne January 7, 1972 making their union together 22 years before he passed away in 1994. To Linda and Don's union two children were born, Michelle and Clayton Murl.
Linda enjoyed working at the Rawlins's Factory when the family lived in Licking, MO.
Due to ill health she had moved to West Plains to be near her family.
She is preceded in death by her husband Don Payne, one nephew Jeremy Darl Johnson; and one niece Terri Suzette Johnson Green. Linda is survived by her children, daughter Michelle Varnell and husband Patrick; son Clayton Murl Payne; three grandchildren, Shane, Jordan and Hannah Varnell; her parents, Murl and Edna Johnson, and one brother Terry Johnson all of the West Plains, MO area.
Services were held Tuesday, September 18, 2007 at 2:00 Pm at Bradford Funeral Home Chapel in Summersville with Rev. Phillip Payne and Rev.
Joey Hight officiating. Interment was in Boone Creek Cemetery under the care of Bradford Funeral Home of Summersville.

Jeremiah Hughes-Stringer
Jeremiah Eugene Hughes-Stringer the son of Melody Renee Stringer and Jeffrey Alan Hughes was born May 31, 2002 at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, MO. Jeremiah went to Heaven, Thursday, September 20th, 2007, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, MO, making his age 5 years 3 months and 19 days.
Jeremiah attended Eminence Grade School, he was in Mrs. Tammie's kindergarten class. He was proud of his stars that he earned at school for good behavior. His favorite past times were riding his bicycle, playing Power Rangers and Spider Man, acting like a hero.
He loved to fish with his Papa Doug.
Jeremiah is preceded in death by his uncle Jeffrey Stringer, great grandparents, Jeff and Eva Stringer, Raymond and Ruby Rose.
Jeremiah is survived by his mother Melody Stringer of Eminence, MO; father Jeffrey Alan Hughes of the State of Wisconsin, one brother Jacob Alan Hughes of Montgomery City, MO; grand parents, Sue (Rose) Moerbe and husband David of Eminence, MO; Doug and Gail Stringer of Hartshorn, MO; and Jerry and Judie Hughes of New Florence, MO; also a host of great uncles, great aunts, and a host of family members who loved him. He is also survived by many friends and class mates.
Services were held on Monday, September 24, 2007 at 1:00PM at Bradford Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Steelman officiating. Interment was in Antioch Cemetery under the care of Bradford Funeral Home of Summersville.

Karen Sue Mahan
Karen Sue (Lockman) Mahan was born May 26, 1950 at Poplar Bluff, MO the daughter of Elmoe Lockman and Geneva (Williams) Lockman. She passed away September 28, 2007 at her home in Eminence, MO at the age of 57 years.
She was united in marriage to Richard Glen Mahan on April 5, 1969 at Winona, MO and to this union 2 children were born.
She was preceded in death by her father Elmoe Lockman and her father-in-law Albert Mahan.
She is survived by her husband Glen Mahan of Eminence, MO; one son Christopher Glenn Mahan and wife Corrie of Eminence, MO; one daughter Jennifer Lynn Asplin and husband Justin of Birch Tree, MO; four grandchildren Makenna Mahan, and Kylie Mahan of Eminence, MO, Cloey Asplin and Grady Asplin of Birch Tree, MO; her mother Geneva Lockman of Winona, MO; her mother-in-law Lois Mahan of Eminence, MO; two sisters Marsha Kay (Lockman) Abbey and husband Gene of St. Louis, MO; Brenda (Lockman) Lindsey and husband Bruce of Winona, MO; one brother-in-law Dwayne Mahan and wife Linda of Eminence, MO; one niece Angie (Lindsey) Ipock and husband Randall of Winona, MO; three nephews Rusty Lindsey of Winona; Bryan Mahan of Springfield, MO and Zachary Abbey of St. Louis, MO; two great nephews Jordan Ipock-Denning and Benjamin Ipock both of Winona, MO; and a host of other family and friends.
Karen graduated from Winona High School in May 1968. She attended Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield, MO and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education in December 1985. Karen graduated from Southwest Baptist University in July 1996 with a Master of Science Degree in Education. Karen was a member of the Christian Church in Winona, MO until she became a member of the First Baptist Church in Eminence, MO.
Karen taught at Winona Elementary School for 20 years. She had an unconditional love for all children; she treated every child as if they were her own. She was a positive influence for all children, parents and faculty. Karen touched so many lives through her teaching. Karen was a loving spouse, mother, daughter, sister, daughter-in-law and friend. She cherished all of her family and was honored to be called Granny Karen. Her grandkids were the sunshine of her life. She devoted all of her time to taking care of others. Karen will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral Services were held on Monday, October 1, 2007 at 1:00 pm at the First Baptist Church in Eminence, MO with Rev. Alan Stringer officiating. Interment was in Bethany Chapel Cemetery at Eminence, MO under the direction of Duncan Funeral Home of Eminence, MO

Vernon Dean Chilton
Vernon Dean Chilton the son of Clede Chilton and Ethel Tilley (Young) Chilton was born at Eminence, Missouri, on November 21, 1924. He passed away at his home in Fairmount City, Illinois, Monday, September 24, 2007 making his age 82 years.
He grew up in the Round Springs area, moving to Farimount City in 1945; his parents, Clede and Ethel moved to Fairmount City shortly there after.
Vernon worked at American Zinc where he ran an Acid Loader for many years, retiring in 1989.
Vernon loved to hunt and fish; and did whenever he could.
Preceding Vernon in death by his parents, Clede and Ethel.
Vernon is survived by his brother, Junior Chilton of Fairmount City, Illinois; his care giver Kimberly Webber of Fairmount City Illinois and his many friends.
Services were held Thursday, September 27th, 2007 at 1PM at Bradford Funeral Home in Summersville with Rev. Steve Steeelman officiating.
Interment was in Summersville City Cemetery under the care od Bradford Funeral Home.

Fredarica "Ricki" Thimmes
Fredarica "Ricki" Thimmes was born April 4, 1923 at Summersville, MO the daughter of Fred Smith and Mary Ida (Kirkman) Smith. She passed away Friday, September 21, 2007 at Willow Care Nursing Home in Willow Springs, MO at the age of 84 years, 5 months and 17 days.
She was united in marriage to Robert "Bob" Thimmes on February 28, 1946 in Pasadena, CA. Ricki and Bob shared a union of 25 years before his death in March 1972.
She was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Ida Smith; her husband Bob; 2 brothers George Smith and Fred H. "Buck" Smith of Landers, CA; 2 sisters Vera Kerr of Mt. Vernon, MO and Zola Smith of Mountain View, MO.
She will be sadly missed by her sister Willodean Turner and husband Karl of Enid, OK; many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends scattered from California to South Carolina and from Nebraska to Georgia .
Ricki graduated from Summersville High School in 1941 and went to Pasadena, CA, in 1943. She worked at OÕKeefe & Merit Stove Factory until her marriage. She and her husband Bob settled in Downey, CA. Ricki lived in Downey for 53 years where she lived until September of 2006 when she returned to Missouri to be cared for by the Willow Care Nursing Home and her niece Sharon Bales of Mountain View, MO. Ricki loved her yard and especially her roses. She was always outside digging, pruning, and watering. Her roses are still blooming for her. She was of the Protestant faith.
Funeral Services were held September 29, 2007 at Rose Hills Mortuary in Whittier, CA. Interment was in Rose Hills Cemetery, Suncrest Lawn. Local arrangements were under the direction of Duncan Funeral Home of Mountain View, MO.

Grace Hamilton
Grace Hamilton the daughter of Arthur Hamilton and Maude (Massengill) Hamilton was born February 19, 1921 at Oakside, Missouri. Grace went to be with the Lord at her home on Saturday, March 1st, 2008 making her age 87 years and 11 days.
She was a charter member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Summersville. Several consider her to be the mother figure of her church. Grace worked as a supervisor at Angelica Uniform Factory until her retirement.
Gracie loved to sew. She made many beautiful little girl dresses over the years. She enjoyed gardening and was generous in sharing the harvest from her garden. She was our wonderful and beloved "Granny Grace."
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Arthur and Maude; seven infant brothers and sisters. Grace is also preceded in death by her adopted grandson Jackson Moore.
Grace leaves behind to mourn her passing, her adopted family, Lloyd and Janet Jackson of Lake St. Louis, MO; Mike Jackson, Dakota and Bethany of Summersville, MO; Craig and Annette Moore and children Rylee, Gabrielle, and Olivia of O'Fallon, MO and several cousins.
Services were held on Wednesday, March 5th, 2008 at 1:00 PM at Bradford Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Stacey Prewett officiating. Interment was in Oakside Cemetery under the care of Bradford Funeral Home.
