Roy L. Williams
Roy L. Williams, 75, died July 27, 2002 at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
He was born Nov. 14, 1926 in Puxico, Mo.
He married Norma Haile Dec. 23, 1957 and she preceded him in death Oct. 20, 2000.
Mr. Williams had lived in Wappapello since 1969. He taught school in Potosi and retired from the Poplar Bluff School System. He operated and founded Ozark Gold Charcoal. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge AF&AM; and O.E.S. in Zalma, Puxico VFW #7822, Wayne County Historical Society, M.S.T.A., Wayne County Civic Center and Wayne County Citizen Patrol. He was a master tree farmer and attended the Bright Prospect Church.
He is survived by one daughter, Debra (Robert) Mueller, Poplar Bluff; three sisters, Virgie Null, Mildred Hale, both of Wappapello, Myrtle Robinett, California.
He was preceded in death by his son, Bruce Williams on July 22, 1973.
The funeral was held July 30 at Morgan Sifford Funeral Home, Puxico, with Rev. Bryan Parkey officiating. Burial was in Wilfong Cemetery, Wappapello.

Harold A. Moss
Harold A. Moss, 64, died July 24, 2002 in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
He was born March 20, 1938 in Leeper, Mo., son of the late Glenn and Artie (Lewis) Moss.
He was married to Vivian Louise Moss and she preceded him in death Feb. 6, 1992.
Mr. Moss was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He owned and operated Harold's Produce Market in Piedmont for many year. He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his other half and friend, Kathy Richmond, Piedmont; one son, Rowdy (Shannon) Moss, Piedmont; one daughter, Lori (Mike) Hills, Armstrong Creek, Wisc.; stepson, Christopher Richmond, Piedmont; one brother, Donald Moss, Piedmont; one sister, Virginia Knipping, Washington; six grandchildren, Jacob, James and Donna Hills, Rowdy and Trevor Moss and Dillan Sutton.
He was preceded in death by two children, David and Shelly Moss; one brother, Robert Moss; one sister, Ruth Ann Moss.
The funeral was held July 26 at Morrison-Worley Funeral Chapel, Piedmont, with Elder Bob Webb officiating and music by Donna Hills and Rowdy Moss.
Pallbearers were Jacob and James Hills, Jesse Knipping, David Hibbard, Richard Adair and Jim DeClue. Burial was in Masonic Cemetery. Graveside honors were provided by the Missouri Honor Guard.

Margarette L. Clubb
Margarette Louise Clubb, 75, formerly of Piedmont, died July 25, 2002 at St. Mary's Hospital in Jefferson City, Mo.
She was born July 8, 1927 in St. Joseph, Mo., daughter of the late Raymond and Myrtle (Dees) Moore.
She married Lester A. Clubb Oct. 26, 1946 in Dixon, Ill. and he preceded her in death April 23, 1991.
Mrs. Clubb was the owner and operator of Grandma's Restaurant in Piedmont and had been the personal cook for Gov. Teasdale. She was a past president of the Thursday Evening Study Club, director of the Sheltered Workshop in Piedmont and a member of the Order of the Easter Star #274 in Gray Summit. She was a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Jefferson City.
She is survived by two sons, Stanley Clubb, Piedmont, Michael Clubb, Ocala, Fla.; three daughters, Darlene Clubb, Sandra Hill, both of Jefferson City, Sharon Elder, California, Mo.; two brothers, John Duckett, Jefferson City, Frank Duckett, Rosebud; two sisters, Melba Steward, Bonne Terre, Claudine Jensen, Lakeside, Calif.; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her stepfather, John Duckett; one brother, Walter Duckett.
The funeral was held July 28 at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont, with Rev. Ron Clark officiating. Music was by Alan Conner and Debbie Mullins.
Pallbearers were Ryan Elpers, Raymond Elpers, Michael Clubb, Steve Kelham, Blake Keotting, Jason Bieri and Ross Gill. Burial was in Masonic Cemetery, Piedmont.

Opal M. Rayfield
Opal Myrtle Rayfield, 91, died July 23, 2002 at Mark Twain Manor in Bridgeton, Mo.
She was born June 11, 1911 in Des Arc, Mo., daughter of the late John and Katherine (Lewis) Robinson.
She was united in marriage to Vernon J. Rayfield Jan. 27, 1928 and he preceded her in death Nov. 9, 1977.
Mrs. Rayfield was a homemaker and of the Methodist faith.
She is survived by two sons, Michael Rayfield, St. Louis, Jack Rayfield, Piedmont; two daughters, Charlene Haig, Louisiana, Mo., Shirley Schultz, Bone Terre; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren
Preceded her in death was one brother, Walter Robinson; five sisters, Marie Miller, Rella Seal, Mildred Burgess, Mabel Huff, Erma Robinson.
The funeral was held July 26 at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont, with Gene Moss and Jim Oliver speaking.
Pallbearers were Brad, Buddy, Van and Brad Schultz Jr., Jesse Peterson and Allen Landwehr. Honorary pallbearers were Allen Jr. and Louise Landwehr, Nancy Oliver, Lynn Schultz, Andrea Baumgartner, Michelle, Casey, Katherine and Jessica Rayfield. Burial was in Mt. View Cemetery, Des Arc.

William 'Bob' Douglas
William Roosevelt "Bob" Douglas, 74, died July 24, 2002 at his home in Piedmont, Mo.
He was born Oct. 10, 1927 in Harviell, Mo., son of the late William and Gertie (Willcutt) Douglas.
He was united in marriage to Janiece Lewis March 24, 1951 and she survives.
Bob was baptized Oct. 19, 1975 and was a member of the First Baptist Church, Piedmont, where he was an ordained deacon. He was a member of the Scottish Rite, Masonic Lodge 526 and O.E.S. #347 in Piedmont. He was a retired supervisor for the Missouri State Highway Department and a veteran the U.S. Army. He enjoyed hunting.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Janice (Tom) Stout, Ellington; one brother, O.D. Douglas, Piedmont; one sister, Maggie Kettler, Alvin, Texas; grandson, Jonathan Douglas Stout, Ellington.
He was preceded in death by a son, William "Willie" Douglas, III March 5, 2002; one brother, Ralph Douglas; three sisters, Juanita McAllister, Mazie Douglas and Villa Ruble.
The funeral was held July 26 at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont, with Rev. Jim Stewart officiating and music by the First Baptist Church Choir with Linda Niswonger, pianist.
Pallbearers were Kenny Leach, Ted Casey, Bob Worley, Sam Losh, Don Keith and Richard Ross. Honorary pallbearers were Dennis Johnson, Marion Luna and Ralph Seabaugh. Burial was in Masonic Cemetery, Piedmont.

Harold R. Rankin
Harold Ray Rankin, 56, died July 26, 2002 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.
He was born Sept. 8, 1945 in Poplar Bluff, Mo., son of Edna Maxine (Bilbrey) Morgan and the late Harold E. Rankin.
He was united in marriage to Patricia House and she survives, residing in DeSoto.
Ray was a commercial painter.
He is survived by three children, Deborah (Darrin) Freeman, Jennifer Rankin, Arthur Rankin; one sister, Carolyn Guerrant; stepchildren, Eddie and Nathan Melton; five grandchildren.
The funeral was held July 29 at the Assembly of God Church in Williamsville with Rev. Clarence Morrisho officiating. Burial was in Duncan Cemetery.

Tommie Faye Jones
Tommie Faye Jones, 92, died Sept. 17, 2002 at Pocahontas Nursing and Rehab Center in Pocahontas, Ark.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Jones and two infant sons.
She is survived by two daughters, Phyllis Severs, Piedmont, Janice Ellis, Maynard, Ark.; one son, Rex Jones, Maynard, Ark.; four grand-children; four great-grandchildren.
The funeral was held Sept. 21 at the Chapel of Cox-Waymon Funeral Home of Pocahontas. Burial was in Ingram Cemetery, Maynard, Ark.

Bill W. Parker
Bill W. Parker, 63, died Sept. 27, 2002 in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
He was born Jan. 12, 1939 in Paragould, Ark., son of the late Bryan and Nettie (Gaither) Parker.
Mr. Parker was a retired house painter. He had lived in the Annapolis area for the past 22 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and attended the Church of God.
He is survived by his companion of 22 years, Sandy Sullivan, Annapolis; two children, Bill W. Parker, Jr., North Carolina, Mary Janeen Hudson, Mississippi; two brothers, Walter Parker, California, Mack Parker, Paragould, Ark.; two sisters, Vesta Howard, Paragould, Ruth French, Lafe, Ark.; several grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Bryan Parker, Jr.
The funeral was held Sept. 29 at Morrison-Worley Funeral Chapel, Piedmont, with Rev. Steve Sale and Rev. Clarence Casteel officiating. Music was provided by Rev. Casteel and Virginia Dinkins.
Pallbearers were Deter Rayfield, Derek Pierson, Brent Scowden, Mitchel Scowden, Oland Brawley and Jack Rutter. Burial was in the Mann Cemetery.

Sarah L. Hoffman
Sarah L. Hoffman, 82, died Sept. 25, 2002 at her residence in Patterson, Mo.
She was born Jan. 23, 1920 in Boss, Mo., daughter of the late Clarence and Kate (Estepp) Camden.
She was united in marriage to Homer L. Hoffman Jan. 10, 1937 and he preceded her in death May 12, 1993.
Mrs. Hoffman was a homemaker. She was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by one son, Walter L. Hoffman, Patterson; one daughter, Linda Moore, Patterson; one sister, Edna Brooks, Salem; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were one brother, Clifford Camden; one sister, Ruby Wisdom.
The funeral was held Sept. 27 at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont, with Rev. Elmo Parker officiating.
Pallbearers were Ray Hicks, Logan Hicks, Joshua Hatley, Alex Henson, Richard McAllister and Ron Street. Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Butler County.

Lorene 'Toots' Sisco
Lorene "Toots" Sisco, 85, died Sept. 30, 2002 at Arkansas Methodist Hospital in Paragould, Ark.
She was born Dec. 20, 1916 in Success, Ark., daughter of the late Horace and Mary Eliza (Harper) DeArmon.
She married James Elbert Sisco and he preceded her in death Aug. 6, 1988.
Mrs. Sisco was a homemaker and a member of Palatka Church of Christ.
She is survived by one son, Elbert Wayne Sisco, Success, Ark.; one daughter, Doris Hawkins, Piedmont; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
The funeral was held Oct. 3 at Ermert Funeral Home in Corning, Ark.

Alta A. Griffith
Alta Alean Griffith, 87, formerly of Wappapello, died Sept. 25, 2002 in Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso, Texas.
She was born Aug. 30, 1915 in Mountain View, Mo., daughter of the late James and Eva (Atnip) Page.
She was married to Raymond Griffith and he preceded her in death. She married Wayne Griffith and he, too, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Griffith was a homemaker and a member of New Liberty Jack Town Church in Silva.
She is survived by two sons, James Griffith, El Paso, Jack Griffith, Wappapello; two daughters, Betty Fegert, Chaparral, N.M., Sue Walters, Puxico; three brothers, Ernest Page, Aurora, Ill., John Page Poplar Bluff, Lee Page, Rockford, Ill.; three sisters, Ruth Wills, Jean Burchard, both of Wappapello, Hassie Thorkelson, Williamsville; 35 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Leo Page; one sister, Annette Johnson.
The funeral was held Sept. 30 at Ruegg Funeral Home, Greenville, with Rev. Kenny Burchard officiating and music by Judy Osborn, Laurie Griffin and Jeanie Hensley.
Pallbearers were Kenneth Massie, Chester Knutson, Jack Henson, Danny Nepean, Bob Ziegler and Larry Becker. Burial was in Little Brushy Cemetery, Wappapello.

Patricia R. Endicott
Patricia Ruth Endicott, 64, died Sept. 28, 2002 in Farmington, Mo.
She was born March 21, 1938 in Mill Spring, Mo., daughter of the late Roy and Ellen (Laxton) Smith.
She was united in marriage to Edward Endicott and he survives, residing in Park Hills. Other survivors include five daughters, Ava (Charlie) Crowley, Piedmont, Kathy (Gary) Douglas, Bonne Terre, Betty (Patrick) Crowley, Piedmont, Linda (Rodney) DeClue, Park Hills, Tracy (Bobby) Dennis, Park Hills; one sister, Betty Lou Marler, Mill Spring; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
The funeral was held Sept. 30 at Coplin Chapel, Park Hills, with Rev. Gene DeClue officiating. Burial was in Bonne Terre Cemetery.

Clyde M. Buchanan
Clyde M. Buchanan, 88, formerly of Piedmont, died Nov. 21, 2002 at his home in Springfield, Mo.
He was born Jan. 8, 1914 in Van Buren, Mo., son of the late Patrick Henry and Sarah Josephine (Sheets) Buchanan.
He was united in marriage to Alpha Goodson Sept. 22, 1936 and she survives.
Mr. Buchanan was a song writer and loved music. He was an ordained deacon at Mt. Olive Baptist Church near Piedmont and served at Pleasant Home Baptist Church in Springfield
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Ronald Patrick (Peggy) Buchanan, Springfield, James R. (Janice) Buchanan, Springfield; three daughters, Millicent Ann (Charles) Wymore, House Springs, Patricia Elaine (Doug) Burns, Springfield, Priscilla Jo (Richard) Vaughn, Strafford; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Vergie Daniels, DeSoto.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
The funeral was held Nov. 25 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Piedmont, with Rev. Richard Vaughn and Rev. Lex Fox officiating. Music was provided by Rev. Lex Fox, Ron Buchanan, Randy Buchanan, Millicent Wymore, Pat Burns, Priscilla Vaughn and Mandy Williams.
Burial was in Yount Memorial Cemetery, Reynolds County.
Arrangements were under the direction of Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont.
