Edward D. Braman, 46, died Feb. 7, 2004, in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
He was born Feb. 26, 1957, in St. Louis, Mo., son of the late Willard and Dorothy (Hembie) Braman.
Mr. Braman was a self-employed laborer.
He is survived by his companion of 22 years, Della Foster, who resides in Greenville; three sons, Robert Braman, Thomas Braman, both of Greenville, Edward Braman, Jr.; one brother, Robert Braman, Scopus; one sister, Dorothy Jones, Marble Hill; four stepchildren, Mona Rich, Greenville, Karen Winchester, Van Buren, Frank Foster, Ellsinore, Dennis Foster, Hopkinsville, Ky.; 12 grand-children.
A service of remembrance was held Feb. 10 at Morrison-Worley Funeral Chapel, Greenville. Cremation and private burial followed the service.
William E. Akers
William E. Akers, 67, of Chesterfield, died Feb. 6, 2004.
He was married to Penelope Brockmeyer and she preceded him in death.
Mr. Akers loved to fly and ride his motorcycle. He enjoyed the outdoors and was a frequent visitor to Clearwater Lake.
He is survived by one son, Patrick Akers; seven sisters, Helen Stuart, Ruby Ford, Erma Cooper, Dixie Niehaus, Delores Wakefield, Joan Bourn, Judy Elgin; three brothers, George, Jerry and Larry Akers; one granddaughter, Tiffany Akers.
He was preceded in death by one son, Christopher Thomas Akers.
The funeral was held Feb. 9 at Antioch Baptist Church, Chesterfield. Burial was in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of Schrader Funeral Home, Ballwin.
Coy L. Tigart
Coy Lee Tigart, 59, died Feb. 6, 2004, in Piedmont, Mo.
He was born July 30, 1944, in Newberry, S.C., son of the late Coy and Edna Tigart.
Mr. Tigart was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving in Viet Nam from 1962 to 1966. He had lived and worked in Houston, Texas as a truck driver for Williams Brothers Construction Company for many years.
He is survived by one son, James Tigart, Sikeston; one brother, Bobby Edwards, Baltimore, Md.; two sisters, Sue Mobley, St. Joseph, Tenn., Dorothy Hale, Piedmont; one grandson, Trey; adopted brothers and sisters, Nathan Hale, Piedmont, Daniel Hale, Millersville, Beverly Wymore, Arnold, Bonnie Funston, Herculaneum, Patsy Sullivan, Olathe, Kan.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Bennie Edwards.
The funeral was held Feb. 9 at Morrison-Worley Funeral Chapel, Piedmont, with Rev. Steve Sale and Rev. Daniel Hale officiating.
Pallbearers were Bill Sullivan, Marck Funston, Tom Wymore, Everett Carter, Clint Johnston and David Johnston. Graveside military honors were provided by Navy Honor Guard. Burial was in Peach Tree Cemetery.
Fred Tibbs
Reuben "Fred " Tibbs, 82, died Feb. 3, 2004, at John J. Pershing V.A. Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
He was born Sept. 29, 1921, in Burbank, Mo., son of the late Reuben and Bernice (Thompson) Tibbs.
He was united in marriage to Jean Renfrow Sept. 16, 1953, and she preceded him in death Jan. 26, 1962.
Mr. Tibbs worked for General Motors in St. Louis as a spray painter. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during WWII. He enjoyed the outdoors and particularly, fox hunting. He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by two sons, Darrol (Becky) Tibbs, Clubb, Randy (Selisa) Tibbs, Piedmont; one brother, Robert (Dorothy) Tibbs, Lowndes; one sister, Betty (Ted) Harris, Fulton; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Harry and Clarence Tibbs, two sisters, Edith Cottrell and Frances "Sissy" Tibbs.
The funeral was held Feb. 6 at Ruegg Funeral Home, Greenville, with Rev. Kenny Burchard officiating and music provided by the Jacktown Choir and Barney Rothenhoefer.
Pallbearers were Joe Eads, Duane Eads, Dave Wojtkowsklu, Marlyn Edmonds, Tim Burchard and Gene Stuhr. Honorary pallbearers were Leon Beaty and Marvin Evans. Graveside military honors were provided by Dexter Honor Guard. Burial was in Greenville Cemetery.
Ronald S. Yount
Ronald S. Yount, 68, died Feb. 4, 2004, in Imperial, Mo.
He was born Oct. 9, 1935, in Hiram, Mo., son of the late Elmer and Gertrude (Matthews) Yount.
Mr. Yount was a mechanic.
He is survived by one son, Gene Werchow; one daughter, Pamela Freebersyser; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Darrell Yount.
The funeral was held Feb. 12 at Schrader Chapel, Ballwin, with Rev. David Hoke officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park, Jennings.
Franklin D. Shular
Franklin D. Shular, 70, died Feb. 3, 2004, at Three Rivers Healthcare North in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
He was born July 6, 1933, in Shook, Mo., son of the late Boyce and Opal (Ward) Shular.
He was united in marriage to Ruth Inez Dougherty Aug. 25, 1956, and she survives, residing in Williamsville.
Mr. Shular had worked as a heavy equipment operator in the construction industry. He was of the Protestant faith.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four daughters, Debra (Donald) Duckett, St. Louis, Donna Shular, Spring Branch, Texas, Karen (Bob) Day, Naylor, Shelby Lindsay, Williamsville; one brother, Donald Shular, DeKalb, Ill.; one sister, Eva Smith, Lowndes; six children.
The funeral was held Feb. 6 at Ruegg Funeral Home, Williamsville, with Rev. Richard Taylor officiating and music by Linette Nelson.
Serving their grandfather as pallbearers were Brian Duckett, Robert Duckett, Amanda Day, Dale Day, Daniel Shular and Matthew Bristow. Burial was in Wesley-Dixon Cemetery, Hiram.
Gene Allen
Gene Allen, 68, died Feb. 9, 2004, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.
He was born Jan. 26, 1936, in Piedmont, Mo., son of Eileen Allen, who survives and resides in St. Charles, and the late Clifton Allen.
Mr. Allen was a purchasing agent for Brown Shoe Company for 40 years.
He is survived by two daughters, Tanya (Randy) Myers-Brown, St. Peters, Gena (Jeff) DeLashmit, O'Fallon; two sisters, Perma White, St. Charles, Nina Brunk, Jefferson City; two grandchildren.
The funeral was held Feb. 11 at Baue Funeral Home and Memorial Chapel, St. Charles.
Delmar R. Brooks
Delmar Ray Brooks, 55, died Feb. 5, 2004, at his home in Piedmont, Mo.
He was born Feb. 15, 1948, in Des Arc, Mo., son of the late James and Nettie (Gray) Brooks.
Mr. Brooks had worked for the Handle Mill in Des Arc. He was of the Protestant faith.
His father preceded him in death March 23, 1989, and his mother, June 14, 2002.
The funeral was held Feb. 9 at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont, with Rev. Dewel Smith officiating.
Pallbearers were Chuck Morris, Doyle Middleton, Jim Crutchfield, Alex Ruegg, James Brooks and David Brooks. Burial was in Mt. View Cemetery, Des Arc.
Dorothy L. Bauer
Dorothy Louise Bauer, 97, died June 26, 2004, at Clark's Mountain Nursing Center in Piedmont, Mo.
She was born Oct. 4, 1906, in New Orleans, La., daughter of the late Adolph and Loretta (Rohr) Adams.
She was united in marriage to Joseph T. Bauer Nov. 16, 1927, in St. Louis and he preceded her in death May 6, 1986.
Mrs. Bauer had worked for Famous Barr as a payroll clerk and was a member of the St. John's Episcopal Church in St. Louis.
She is survived by one son, Dr. Donald (Lois) Bauer, Park Forest, Ill.; one daughter, Betty (Bob) Lewis, Piedmont; eight grandchildren, Steven (Linda) Lewis, Michael (Sheryl) Bauer, Nancy Totland, Mary (Terry) Chase, John (Peggy) Bauer, Paul Bauer, Joseph (Debby) Bauer, Ann (Jim) Stephens; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Levora and Sarah Cobb.
The graveside service was held June 19 at Lakewood Cemetery in St. Louis with Rev. Dr. Melvia E. Witt officiating.
Arrangements were under the direction of Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont.
Velma E. Purves
Velma Evelyn Purves, 85, died June 13, 2004.
She was born March 15, 1919, in Piedmont, Mo., daughter of the late Edward and Stella (Smith) Buffington.
She was married to Dr. G.A. Purves and he preceded her in death after 53 years of marriage.
Velma and Doc came to Cassville early in their marriage and were instrumental in changing the face of health care in the rural area surrounding their home town.
She was a past member and officer of Silver Leaf, the Garden Club and Eastern Star. She served as president of the local Parent/Teacher Association, directed Barry County's early home health care program and founded the Cassville High School Band Boosters. Mrs. Purves was an avid golfer, bass fisherman and gardener. She was a member of the Cassville United Methodist Church, Senior Citizens and a founding member of the Cassville Golf Association.
She is survived by her children, Suzanne (Danny) Perkins, Linn Creek, Jean (Randy) Canady, Queen Creek, Ariz., Gail (Misuk) Purves, Cassville, Patricia (Daryl) Jonson, Pasco, Wash.; sisters, Betty Carter, Cape Girardeau, Virginia McGhee, Ellsinore; dear friend, Belinda Petree, Cassville.
The funeral was held June 16 at the United Methodist Church of Cassville.
Arrangements were under the direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.
Walter W. Bilbrey
Walter William Bilbrey, 73, died June 7, 2004, at St. Vincent's Hospital in Little Rock, Ark.
He was born Aug. 3, 1930, in Shook, Mo., son of the late Clifford and Opal (Davis) Bilbrey.
He was united in marriage to Patricia Hutchison and she survives, residing in Benton, Ark.
Mr. Bilbrey was a retired sergeant in the U.S. Army. He served in the Korean and Vietnam wars.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Michael Bilbrey, Arlington, Texas; one daughter, Debra "Debbie" Cross, Denver, Colo.; two brothers, Leon Bilbrey, Heltonville, Ind., John Bilbrey, Poplar Bluff; two sisters, Betty Marler, Williamsville, Mary Keele, Tallahassee, Fla.; brother-in-law, Roger Hickey, Houston, Texas; two grandchildren, Nicole Bilbrey, Brandon Bilbrey, both of Arlington, Texas.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl and Clifford Lavern Bilbrey.
The graveside service was held June 10 at Duncan Cemetery, Piedmont, with Rev. Paul Bilbrey officiating. Military honors were provided by Missouri Military Funeral Honors Team of Fort Leonard Wood.
Arrangements were under the direction of Ruegg Funeral Home, Williamsville.
David S. Barfield
David Shelton Barfield, 6, died June 13, 2004, at his home in Cabool, Mo.
He was born July 16, 1997, in Fredericktown, Mo., son of Trapper and Shay (Evans) Barfield of Cabool.
Other survivors include one brother, Clayton Fischer, and one sister, Laney McKay Barfield, of the home; grandparents, Patti Davis, Glen Carbon, Ill., Larry and Nancy Barfield, Piedmont, Garry and Sarah Evans, Katawa, Ky., Donna Evans, Piedmont; great-grandparents, Cecil and Maxine Vance, Irvin Hampton, Pauline Tutterow, all of Piedmont; great-great-grandmother, Mary Warren, Williamsville; aunts and uncle, Ayla and Kristin Evans, Michelle Barfield, Dillion Evans; cousins, Krista and Lee Barfield.
The funeral was held June 15 at Morrison-Worley Funeral Chapel, Piedmont. Pallbearers were Dillon Evans, Stacy Black, Shawn Renner, Westley Blackwell, Zach Wadlow and Tony Hughes. Burial was in Flatwoods Cemetery.
Hayden Myers
Hayden Casey Evan Myers, infant son of Rusty Myers and Jehnna Gunterman, was born June 4, 2004, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Mo. and died shortly thereafter.
He is survived by his parents, Rusty Myers and Jehnna Gunterman of Eureka Springs, Ark.; grandparents, Paul and Diana Gunterman, California, Connie Gunterman, Eureka Springs, Ark., Harold and Charlotte Koenig, Piedmont, Russell Myers Sr., St. Louis; great-grandparents, Harold and Sharon Laxton, Patterson, Kathy Myers, Piedmont, James and Veronica Schlater, Patterson, Hurbert and Mary Burnette, Eureka Springs, Ark., Ted Garren, Piedmont, Bill and Verna Gunterman, California, Sharon Miles, Fountain Valley, Calif.; great-great-grandmother, Louise Schlater, Piedmont.
Graveside services were held June 9 at Masonic Cemetery with Elder Bob Webb officiating.

Doyle Moss
Doyle Moss, 65, died June 12, 2004, at ClaRu DeVille Nursing Center in Fredericktown, Mo.
He was born Dec. 26, 1938, in Williamsville, Mo., son of the late James and Sylvia (Dees) Moss.
Mr. Moss was a self-employed stone mason and a musician. He served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a Christian.
He is survived by two sons, Jimmy Moss, Hopedale, Ill., Michael Moss, Illinois; two daughters, Sheila Adams, Fredericktown, Paula Peterson, Poplar Bluff; one brother, Joe Moss, Watkins, Iowa; three sisters, Pat Santhuff, Piedmont, Peggy Burrow, Patterson, Linda Kirkpatrick, Hillsboro; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jeffrey Stuart Moss and David Earl Moss.
The funeral was held June 15 at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont, with Rev. Elmo Parker officiating.
