Gillian Faye Cooper
Gillian Faye Cooper, infant daughter of Aaron and Suzi Cooper of Joplin, died quietly in her sleep, Monday, December 3rd, 2001.
Gillian was the first born child to the Coopers, she was born in Joplin, September 29, 2001.
In addition to her parents she is survived by paternal grandparents, Dan and Conness Cooper of Neosho, Mo.; maternal grandparents, Jacquei Williams of Joplin and Bill Williams of Midland, Texas; paternal great grandparents, Calvin and Marion Cooper of Camdenton and Bernadine Noel of Kansas City, Kan.; maternal great grandparents, Jack Cox of Cassville, Evelyn Cox of Neosho and Jim Williams of Midland, Texas; maternal great great grandmother, Margie Shuey of Neosho and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Gillian will be greatly missed by all who knew her and will be loved forever.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 5, 2001 in the Clark Chapel of Memories, Neosho.
Officiating will be Jay Sinclair, Steven Cox, Joe Morris and Randy Judy. Gillian's uncle, Sam Williams will also speak at the graveside.
Interment will be in the Burkhart Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Dan Cooper, Randy Judy, Josh Judy, Sean Williams, Jeff Mouser and Steven Cox.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday; the body may be viewed after 4:00 p.m. Tuesday.
Contributions may be made to the Gillian Faye Cooper Memorial Scholarship Fund in care of Clark Funeral Home.
Services are under the direction of Clark funeral Home of Neosho.
Ogal Jean Williamson
Ogal Jean Williamson, age 76, of Joplin, passed away at 7:32 a.m. Saturday, April 28, 2001 at St. John's Regional Medical Center, Joplin, after an illness.
She had lived in Joplin for 13 years.
Ogal was born on November 1, 1924 to Joel and Gertrude Horchem Ummel at Ransom, Ness County, Kan.
In July of 1937, she and her parents moved to Lamar, Mo.
Ogal Jean married Forrest Allen Williamson, formerly of Cassville, Mo., at Lamar on October 18, 1947.
They made their home in Liberal, Mo., where they owned and operated The Modern Beauty Shop for 27 years.
Ogal Jean was employed at Wal-Mart for 10 years, retiring in 1992.
Ogal Jean and Forrest moved to Joplin in July 1988, and Forrest retired from Barton County Ambulance District in July of 1989.
Ogal Jean and Forrest are members of Harmony Heights Baptist Church in Joplin.
Survivors include her husband, Forrest Williamson, Joplin; one brother, Otis Ummel, Rolla, Mo.; one sister, Arlene Van DeMark, Lamar, Mo.
In addition to her parents, Ogal Jean was preceded in death by one sister, Vietta Walter; and one brother, Lloyd Ummel.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Harmony Heights Baptist Church with Rev. Charlie Burnett officiating.
Entombment will follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Allen Bunch, Jim Bunch, Derek Bunch, Jeremy Pritchard, Bill Harmond, and Steve Pritchard.

H.P. (Bud) Williams
H.P. (Bud) Williams, passed away Friday, April 27, 2001 at Medical Lodge in Neosho, Mo. after a long illness.
Mr. Williams was born December 8, 1919, in Carthage, Mo. and was a lifelong area resident.
He graduated from Carthage High School in 1935 and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was a dairy farmer and moved from Jasper County to Newton County in 1955.
He received many awards and recognition for his success at farming.
He had also worked at the Stark City Farmers Co-op.
He served on the board of the Midway School District for many years.
He was a member of the Newtonia United Methodist Church for 45 years.
Adella Fae Lawson
Adella Fae Lawson, 71, died 8:55 p.m., Friday, April 27, 2001 at her residence in Joplin, Mo., following a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Lawson was born January 8, 1930 in Seneca, Mo. to Emmett Erwin, Sr. and Molly (Hemphill) Erwin.
She was a homemaker and a lifelong resident of the area.
She is survived by her husband, Earl Lawson; two sons and their wives, John E. and Patt Lawson, Spartanburg, S.C., Douglas D. and Kathy Lawson, Joplin; a daughter, Shirley G. Yearton, Seneca, Mo.; three brothers and their wives, Chuck and Sue Erwin, Magalia, Calif., Emmett Jr. and Jane Erwin, Neosho, Larry L. Erwin, Captiola, Calif.; a sister a her husband, Barbara and Fred Conway, Grove, Okla.; seven grandchildren, John Michael Lawson, Apache Junction, Ariz., Scott Yearton and his wife, Staci, Webb City, Mo., Shawn Yearton and his wife Jennifer, Joplin, Keith and Kyle Lawson, Joplin, Ashley and Steven Lawson, Spartanburg, S.C.; three great grandchildren, Kelsey, Laney and Bailey.
Mrs. Lawson was preceded in death by a son, James Nelson Lawson.
Graveside services, under the direction of Clark Funeral Home, Neosho, will be held Monday, April 30, 2001 at Neosho Memorial Park Cemetery, south of Neosho, with Rev. Ralph Walker officiating.
Mrs. Lawson will lie in state 12:00 noon until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday and 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Monday.
The family has requested in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. John's Hospice in care of Clark Funeral Home.
The family would also like to thank Dr. Mark Skelley and the nursing staff at St. John's Hospice Unit.
Gladys Doty
Gladys H. Doty, 89, Carson City, Nevada, formerly of Joplin, died on Wednesday, March 12, 1997, at the home of her daughter after an illness. Mrs. Doty was born July 6, 1907, in the state of Iowa. She had lived in Joplin most of her life, moving to California in 1981. She was a homemaker. She married Julius Doty on March 16, 1929, in Joplin. He died April 18, 1995. Survivors include a daughter, Jean Schmid, Carson City; two sisters, Eunice Simpson, Webb City, and Buella Krill, Galena, Kan; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Mount Hope Cemetery, Webb City. The Rev. Elmer Tyree will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Thornill-Dillon Mortuary, Joplin.
Melvin A. Warthen
Melvin A. Warthen, age 77, passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2002, in Cheyenne, Wyo.
He was born on April 11, 1925, in Ronan, Mont. He was a volunteer at the American Legion, the VA hospital and was a member of the Salvation Army Emergency disaster team, all of Cheyenne, Wyo. He was a truck driver. He served in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Korean War, stationed out of Georgia, and in the Navy stationed in Idaho.
He is survived by his children, Melvin Warthen Jr., of California, Edward Warthen, Mervin Warthen and Melanie Edge, of Joplin; 10 grandchildren; and lifetime friend Leona Pace of Cheyenne, Wyo, and her children, who were like his own, Rocky Pace, of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Roxie Andresen, of Kentucky, and her two children.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Elizabeth Warthen, one brother and seven sisters.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Stone Cemetery, near Diamond, Mo. A memorial service will be planned at the VA Medical Center Chapel of Cheyenne, Wyo., at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary.
Ernestine Branham
GRANBY, Mo. - Ernestine Turner Branham, 82, Albuquerque, N.M., a native of rural Granby, died at 1:30 a.m. Friday, March 14, 1997, at Kaseman Presbyterian Hospital, Albuquerque, of an illness.
Mrs. Branham was born Aug. 27, 1914, in rural Newton County, south of Granby.
She graduated from the former Midway High School and attended Clark's Business College at Topeka, Kan.
She was a secretary and registrar at the Topeka schools for 10 years.
In Albuquerque, she was church secretary eight years for the First Baptist Church and she later worked in the women's clothing department at Kistler-Collister for three years.
She was a member of First Baptist Church, Albuquerque.
Survivors include her husband, Onel C. Branham, Albuquerque; a daughter, Judith Branham, Wickenburg, Ariz.; a son, Robert Branham, San Jose, Calif.; and two brothers, Noel Turner, San Mateo, Calif., and Kenneth Turner, Monett.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. today at French Mortuary, Albuquerque.
The Rev. Jerry Evans will officiate.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at IOOF Cemetery, Neosho.
John Rollins will officiate.
The Family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Clark Funeral Home, Neosho.
Charles Cook Sr.
ANDERSON, Mo. - Charles E. "Gene" Cook Sr., 68, Anderson, died at 8:35 a.m. Friday, March 14, 1997, at St. John's Regional Medical Center, Joplin, after a long illness.
Mr. Cook was born Aug. 12, 1928, at Bolivar.
He graduated from Bolivar High School.
He moved to Barry County in the early 1950s, where he was employed with Forrest Products.
His wife, Hazel Pearson, survives.
Additional survivors include four sons, Darrel Lowe, Noel, Brent Peterson, Monett, Charles E. Cook Jr., Cassville, Jerry Lee Cook, address unavailable; two daughters, Connie Willis, Anderson, and Dusta Cook, Exeter; two brothers, Carl Junior Cook, Springfield, and Ronnie Lee Cook, Brighton; four half-brothers, Jerry Cook, Las Vegas, Nevada; Jesse Evans, Robert Evans, and Clifford Evans, all of Bolivar; a sister, Louise Shorter, Dallas, Texas; a half-sister, Lila Stephensmire, of the state of Idaho; and six grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Maplewood Cemetery, Exeter.
Derald Compton, minister, will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.
