Mary B. Glenn
Mary B. Glenn, 89, died Aug. 1, 2004, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
She was born Dec. 12, 1914, in Greenville, Mo., daughter of the late Henry and Lily (Costner) Bollinger.
She was united in marriage to John W. Glenn Dec. 23, 1935, in Hillsboro, Mo., and he survives, residing in Greenville.
Mrs. Glenn was a retired insurance agent.
She was a member of the Methodist Church in Greenville and the Eastern Star #337, where she served as past worthy matron.
She was a charter member of the Wayne County Historical Society and had served as vice president and a charter secretary on the board of the State Bank of Greenville.
She is survived by one brother, Amy Fred Bollinger, Greenville; one sister, Freda Masdon, Medlen, Texas.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Lora Tinnin.
The funeral was held Aug. 4 at Ruegg Funeral Home, Greenville, with Rev. Jack Wilhite officiating and music by the Community Choir and Daphne Hershey.
Pallbearers were Larry Libla, Paul Bridges, Shane Strahl, Lavern Daves and Earl Baumgardner.
Honorary pallbearers were Bobby White, Jim Groves, Bob Ramshur, Larry Johnson and Bob Strahl.
Burial was in Greenville Cemetery.
Erma A. Jones
Erma Aileene Jones, 80, died Sept. 13, 2004, in Ironton, Mo.
She was born May 28, 1924, in Wayne County, Mo., daughter of the late John and Neely Provance.
She was united in marriage to Eugene S. Jones May 31, 1941, and he survives, residing in Ironton.
Mrs. Jones was a retired licensed practical nurse.
She was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church of Piedmont.
She had been a resident of The Baptist Home for seven months.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by seven children, Ted Jones, Park Hills, Jeanie Steltzer, Bismarck, John Jones, Macon, Ga., Harold Jones, Park Hills, Marsha Stoker, Fenton, Hazel Windsor, Park Hills, Carol Brown, Festus; four sisters, Pearl Martin, Walden, Colo., Melba Brinkley, Piedmont, Corrine "Tootsy" Collins, St. Charles, Glenda Green, Moberly.
The funeral was held Sept. 16 at The Baptist Home with Gerald Collier giving prayer and reading scripture and J.W. Hicks delivering the eulogy.
Donald R. Austin
Donald R. Austin, 67, died Oct. 20, 2004, at his home in Williamsville, Mo.
He was born Dec. 5, 1936, in Fort Sumner, N.M., son of the late Leonard and Mary (Meyers) Austin.
He was united in marriage to Darlene Lindgren June 2, 1984, and she survives, residing in Williamsville.
Mr. Austin was a member of Cool Springs Baptist Church in Williamsville, where he served as a trustee and a Sunday school teacher.
He was a carpenter and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He belonged to the Carpenters Union and the National Rifle Association.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Steve Austin, Sacramento, Calif.; five daughters, Cathy Shewey, Ft. Worth, Texas, Carolyn Abel, Poplar Bluff, Christy Holmberg, Vista, Calif., Cindy Seely, Upper Lake, Calif., Trisa Austin, Winsor, Calf.; three brothers, Jack Austin, Lubbock, Texas, Charles Lack, Bakersfield, Calif., Larry Austin, Goleta, Calif.; two sisters, Janet John, Las Vegas, Nev., Fonza Peters, Bakersfield, Calif.; stepmother, Bessie Austin, Ventura, Calif.; 21 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Roger Austin.
The funeral was held Oct. 23 at Cool Springs Baptist Church with Rev. John Pierce officiating and Charles Lack delivering the eulogy.
Music was provided by Jeanette Cox, Betty Foster, Jessica Pierce and the congregation.
Pallbearers were Wayne Shewey, Matt Shewey, John Cox, John Clinton, Bobby Wood and Bert Deason.
Burial was in Cool Springs Cemetery with graveside military honors provided by the Honor Guard of Poplar Bluff.
Arrangements were under the direction of Ruegg Funeral Home, Greenville.
Francis N. Foster
Francis Noel Foster, 84, died Oct. 18, 2004, in Piedmont, Mo.
He was born Aug. 31, 1920, in Montgomery City, Mo., son of the late Rice and Augustine (Mareschall) Foster.
He was united in marriage to Dorothy Lucas Oct. 2, 1948, in Valley Park and she survives, residing in Piedmont.
Mr. Foster served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII.
He worked for the St. Louis Sheet Metal Union Local #36.
He was a member of Vulcan Assembly of God. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, the outdoors and attending bluegrass festivals.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, James Foster, Washington, Harland (Fern) Foster, Pacific, Dale (Michelle) Foster, Ballwin; two daughters, Mildred (Walter) Eads, St. Louis, Connie (Artie Jr.) Sanders, Piedmont; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren.
The funeral was held Oct. 22 at Cunningham-Millard-Cantrell Funeral Home, Eureka, with Rev. Jerry Cuneio officiating.
Burial was in St. Bridget Cemetery with full military honors.
Floyd L. League
Floyd Leslie League, 91, died Oct. 20, 2004, at Clark's Mountain Nursing Center in Piedmont, Mo.
He was born Nov. 30, 1912, in Silva, Mo., son of the late Clardy and Jenny (Ward) League.
He was united in marriage to Maude G. Taylor March 28, 1942, and she preceded him in death April 20, 1997.
Mr. League was a member of the New Prospect Southern Baptist Church of Silva.
He was a retired foreman for the Silva Shed of the Missouri Highway Department and a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in WWII.
He is survived by one daughter, Lockie Jean (Bruce) McMurry, Patterson; one sister, Annalee Hellums, Florida; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Judy Miller, and four sisters, Carrie Lomax, Lena Kelly, Eula Fox and Allene League.
The funeral was held Oct. 23 at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont, with Rev. Gary Aubuchon officiating.
Jason McMurry delivered the eulogy and music was provided by Glendell Twidwell and Rita Bridges.
Serving as pallbearers were Jason McMurry, Jaron McMurry, Rory Atnip, Terry Atnip, John Fox, Mike League and Craig Shearrer.
Burial was in Patterson Cemetery.
Graveside military honors were provided by the Honor Guard of Poplar Bluff.
Doris M. Tipton
Doris Marian Tipton, 63, died Feb. 6, 2005, in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
She was born Sept. 28, 1941, in Ottawa, Ill., daughter of the late David and Della (Balcom) Brewer.
She was united in marriage to William D. Tipton Dec. 27, 1975, and he preceded her in death April 28, 2000.
Mrs. Tipton graduated from Ottawa High School and received her associate's degree in business at Three Rivers Community College.
She worked for dry cleaning stores and for Brown Shoe Company in Piedmont.
She was of the Nazarene faith.
She is survived by two sons, Robert (Brenda) Brewer, Ricky Baxter, all of Piedmont; one daughter, Sandra (Mike) Diamond, Piedmont; three brothers, Harold Brewer, Ottawa, Ill., Edward Brewer, Jacksonville, Ill., George Brewer, LaSalle, Ill.; two sisters, Delores Thomas, Phoenix, Ariz., Vivian Henson, Piedmont; three stepchildren, Michael Tipton, Gail Moffett, both of Mendota, Ill., Brenda Kassel, LaSalle, Ill.; five grandchildren; 13 step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; six step-great-grandchildren.
The funeral was held Feb. 9 at Morrison-Worley Funeral Chapel, Piedmont, with Rev. Gary Rhodes officiating.
Pallbearers were Dennis, Brian, Kevin and Richard Henson, Joe Smith and Mike Diamond.
Burial was in New Prospect Cemetery, Silva.
Wayne C. Minson
Wayne C. Minson, 75, of Murray, Ky., formerly of Greenville, died Feb. 12, 2005, at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, Ky.
He was born Feb. 26, 1929, in Coldwater, Mo., son of the late Fred and Elsie (Barker) Minson.
Mr. Minson was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a retired truck driver from Yellow Freight Company.
He was of the Jehovah's Witness faith.
He is survived by four daughters, Nina (Kirk) Bellah, Springtown, Texas, Stephanie Owen, Murray, Ky., Carla (Dewayne) Smith, Puryear, Tenn., Tammy Ridell, St. Paul, Minn.; one son, Michael Minson, Haltom City, Texas; one sister, Nina Dees, Arnold; seven grandchildren; one great-granddaughter.
The graveside service, officiated by family members, was held Feb. 15 at McKelvey and Huffman Cemetery, Buckhorn.
Arrangements were under the direction of J.H. Churchill Funeral Home, Murray, Ky.
