Beulah Edmonds
EAGLE ROCK, Mo. - Beulah May Clay Edmonds, 88, Eagle Rock, died at 9 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, 1997, at South Barry County Hospital, Cassville, after a long illness.
Mrs. Edmonds was born Sept. 21, 1908, in Smithfield. She attended schools in Hockerville, Okla. She had been a midwife and minister in Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas. She moved to Southwest Missouri in 1943. She was a member of Oak Hill Community Church.
She married Lawrence Clay on June 23, 1925, in Miami, Okla. He died Oct. 10, 1990.
She married Paton Edmonds in January 1991. He survives.
Additional survivors include three sons, George Clay and Jim Clay, both of Eagle Rock, and Larry Clay, Bella Vista, Ark.; a daughter, Betty Ray, Commerce, Okla.; two sisters, Alice Cooper and Jesse Booth, both of San Jose, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Lighthouse Pentecostal Church in Eagle Rock. The Rev. George Clay and the Rev. Bill Woodmancy will officiate. Burial will be in Roach Cemetery in Eagle Rock.
Pallbearers will be John Babbs, Rick Huttner, Mike Tharp, Andy Tharp, Truman Evans and Cecil Goldsmith.
Visitation will be from noon today until service time at the church.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.
Helmut Kuehne
Helmut Kuehne, 64, Argenthal, Germany, died Monday, Jan. 6, 1997, at Simmern (Germany) Hospital after a short illness. He was the brother of Jutta "Judy" McIntosh-Robb, Joplin.
Mr. Kuehne had owned and operated an automobile electric business.
Survivors include his wife, Ursula Kuehne; two sons, Lothar Kuehne and Lutz Kuehne, both of Argenthal; and another sister, Margot Lehmann, Hamburg, Germany.
Services were held Thursday in Germany.
Jim Stephens
Memorial services for Dr. James E. Stephens, 74, 3622 Indiana Ave., who died Thursday, will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the First Presbyterian Church.
The Rev. William Christman will officiate.
The family will receive friends after the service at the church.
The body will be cremated.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
Contributions may be made to Mercy Regional Health Foundation at St. John's Regional Medical Center or to the Missouri Southern Foundation at Missouri Southern State College.
Zana Carroll
NEVADA, Mo. - Zana Ruth Coale Carroll, 84, Nevada, died Thursday afternoon, Jan. 9, 1997, at her home after a sudden illness.
Mrs. Carroll was born April 13, 1912, at Clinton. She lived in Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri and Colorado as a child. After marriage, she lived in Nevada until 1953. She returned to Nevada in 1972 where she lived the rest of her life.
She worked for many years as a sales clerk at Kresge & Scott's, Nevada. She was a member of the SOS Club, Nevada.
She married Harry F. Carroll on June 29, 1935. He died on April 1, 1985.
Survivors include a son, Lanny Carroll, Raymore; a sister, Lila Bently, San Diego, Calif.; a brother, Bob Coale, Corpus Christi, Texas; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with the Rev. Loren Fox officiating. Burial will be in Moore Cemetery, Nevada.
Friends may call until the hour of the service at the funeral home.
Roy Gulliford
MOUNDVILLE, Mo. - Roy M. Gulliford, 86, Moundville, died Thursday, Jan. 9, 1997, at his home after a sudden illness.
Mr. Gulliford was born Sept. 17, 1910, at Moundville. He was a lifelong Moundville resident. He was a farmer, retiring in 1976. He had served on the Moundville Water Board.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with the Rev. Keith Mackey officiating. Burial will be in Newton Burial Park, Nevada.
Friends may call until the hour of the service at the funeral home.
Contributions may be made to the Gulliford Memorial Scholarship Fund at Bronaugh High School.
John Hamacher
AURORA, Mo. - John F. Hamacher, 68, Aurora, died at 8:24 a.m., Sunday, Jan. 5, 1997, at the University of Missouri Hospital, Columbia, after a long illness.
Mr. Hamacher was born May 25, 1928, at Kenosha, Wis. He was a retired deputy sheriff.
He was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Aurora, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Springfield. He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II.
He married Dorothy Wendler Smith on Dec. 16, 1994, at Pewaukee, Wis. She survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Mike Hamacher, Nixa, and Pat Hamacher, state of Oklahoma; a daughter, Bethany Hamacher, Nixa; a stepson, Mel Millenbereck, Fenton; five grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. today at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with the Rev. Peter Morciniec officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the National Cemetery, Springfield.
Arrangements are under the direction of Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home, Aurora.
Contributions may be made to the Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
Diane Horn
WEBB CITY, Mo. - Diane I. Horn, 526 S. Devon St., died at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 10, 1997, at Freeman Hospital East, Joplin, after two years of ill health.
Mrs. Horn was born at Detroit, Mich. She moved to Webb City about three years ago from the state of California. She had been a Webb City police court clerk.
Survivors include her parents, Leonard and Ileen Horn, Venice, Fla.; and a sister, Pamela Moore, Dearborn, Mich.
The body will be cremated. No services are planned.
Arrangements are under the direction of Simpson Funeral Home, Webb City.
