Sarah Neimeyer
AURORA, Mo. - Sarah Ann Neimeyer, 77, Marionville, formerly of Aurora, died at 11:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, 1997, at a Marionville nursing home after a long illness.
Mrs. Neimeyer was born May 12, 1919, at Higginsville. She was a retired teacher.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Aurora, and the Methodist Women.
She married Frank Neimeyer on Sept. 16, 1945, at Higginsville. He survives.
Other survivors include a son, George Neimeyer, St. Louis; a daughter, Ethel Blankenship, Kansas City, Mo.; a sister, Ethel Newsom, Higginsville; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church with the Rev. Harold Gold officiating. Burial will be in the Maple Park Cemetery, Aurora.
Visitation will be from 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home, Aurora.
Effie Nickoloff
MONETT, Mo. - Effie M. Nickoloff, 93, Monett, died at 1:50 a.m. Friday, Jan. 10, 1997, at a nursing home in Monett after a long illness.
Mrs. Nickoloff was born May 21, 1903, at Sparks, Okla. She was a longtime resident of Monett. She was a homemaker and a member of Free Will Baptist Church of Monett.
She married Vern Vosburgh on Sept. 11, 1917; he died in 1952. She married George Nickoloff on April 24, 1954, at Kansas City. He died May 9, 1993.
She also was preceded in death by two daughters.
Survivors include a daughter, Clara Patton, Monett; a sister, Eva Williams, Checotah, Okla.; and a granddaughter.
Private services will be held Monday. Burial will be in Monett IOOF Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home.
Betty Windle
CARL JUNCTION, Mo. - Betty L. Windle, 79, 105 Foresome Lane, died at 4 a.m. Friday, Jan. 10, 1997, at her home after a long illness.
Mrs. Windle was born Nov. 17, 1917, at Columbus, Kan. She was a 1935 graduate of Columbus High School and attended Pittsburg (Kan.) State University. She moved from Columbus to Carl Junction in June 1978.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Columbus, Ladies Golf Association, and Briarbrook Golf and Country Club of Carl Junction.
She married Ralph P. Windle on May 26, 1937, at Miami, Okla. He survives.
Additional survivors include a sister, Doris K. Brown, Indio, Calif.
The body will be cremated.
Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the First Presbyterian Church, Columbus. The Rev. Christine Iannucilli will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in Park Cemetery, Columbus.
Arrangements are under the direction of Murdock Funeral Home, Columbus.
Contributions may be made to St. John's Hospice of Joplin, Mo., in care of the funeral home.
Sierra Collins
Sierra Danielle Collins, 3, daughter of Daniel and Angela Collins, Joplin, died at 9:29 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, 1997, at St. John's Regional Health Center, Springfield, of spinal meningitis.
She was born June 23, 1993, at Springfield.
Also surviving are maternal grandparents, Ronnie and Carolyn Guthrie, Springfield; her paternal grandparents, James and Linda Collins, Republic, and Dink and Rebecca Cruse, Pleasant Hope; paternal great-grandmother, Virgie Collins, Walnut Grove; paternal great-grandfather, Charles Peck, Hot Springs, Ark.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Klingner Mortuary, Springfield. The Rev. Carlton Coon will officiate. Burial will be in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery, Joplin.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Elverene Dale
Elverene Chitwood Dale, 99, Joplin, died at 1:50 p.m. Friday, Jan. 10, 1997, at Freeman Hospital West after a short illness.
Mrs. Dale was born May 21, 1897, in Henry County. She graduated from Norris (Mo.) High School. She graduated from Stephens College at Columbia. She attended Central Missouri State College at Warrensburg. She was a former home economics teacher for Granby (Mo.) schools. She was a member of Byers Avenue United Methodist Church, where she was trustee and taught the Lillie Bradbury Sunday School Class.
She married James Henry Dale on July 28, 1923, at Springfield. He died March 24, 1967.
Survivors include two sons, James H. Dale, 1030 N. Sergeant Ave., and N.M. "Jack" Dale, Shalimar, Fla.; and four grandchildren.
Arrangements are pending with Parker Mortuary.
Hazel Hudgins
Hazel M. Hudgins, 91, Joplin, died at 1:10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, 1997, at a local nursing home after a long illness.
Mrs. Hudgins was born July 23, 1905, at Sikeston. She was a lifelong area resident. She had been a seamstress from 1942 to 1968 at the former Miller Manufacturing Co. She attended Calvary Tabernacle, Carterville.
Survivors include a son, Leroy Hudgins, Webb City; a sister, Juanita Richardson, Joplin; a half-sister, Thelma Bolton, Huntington Beach, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery, Joplin. The Rev. Larry Holt will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
Rich Richards
Marion M. "Rich" Richards, 67, formerly of Joplin, died at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8, 1997, at his home in Brandon, Miss., after a long illness.
Mr. Richards was born March 16, 1929, at Independence, Kan. He had lived in Joplin for two years, before moving to Wichita, where he lived for 20 years. He then moved to the country of Iran and has lived in Brandon since 1979.
In October 1993 he retired after 17 years as a mechanic for the former Beech-Aerospace Services, Inc., now known as Raytheon-Aerospace Services, Inc., in Jackson, Miss. He had been an administrative board member of Seltzer Springs United Methodist Church, Wichita. He was a civilian pilot and past president and member of Antique Vehicle Club of Mississippi. He was a former member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church, Brandon, and a U.S. Army veteran.
He married M. Bernice Higginbotham on April 16, 1951, at Joplin. She survives.
Additional survivors include a son, Rodney Richards, Little Rock, Ark.; a brother, Albert L. Richards, Wildwood, Fla.; and three grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Osborne Memorial Garden, Joplin. Edwin Thomas, minister, will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Dover, Dan Wallace and Sterling Pendley.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. today at Parker Mortuary.
