Darlene Wallace
Darlene Wallace, 84, 1215 Glendale Road, Joplin, died at 11:40 p.m. Friday, Jan. 10, 1997, at her home after a long illness.
Mrs. Wallace was born Oct. 19, 1912, at Amazona. She moved to Joplin in 1918 from St. Joseph. She and her husband owned and operated Gene and Darlene's Twin Gables Tavern for more than 18 years. She had been a waitress at the former Stan's Diamond Horseshoe Restaurant in the 300 block on Main Street. She and her husband owned and operated a dairy farm at Spring City.
She married Eugene D. Wallace on March 28, 1947, at Joplin. He died Sept. 15, 1984.
Survivors include three sons, Albert Palmer, Joplin, Paul Palmer, the state of Tennessee, and Floyd Dale Short, Joplin; two daughters, Hazel D. Mahon, of the home, and Carol Kay Wallace, San Jose, Calif.; a sister, Emma Patterson, St. Joseph; a half-sister, Suzie Patrick, the state of California; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Osborne Memorial Cemetery, Joplin. The Rev. Leslie Wallace will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday at Parker Mortuary.
Florence Chadwell
Florence E. Chadwell, 77, 3015 Pearl Ave., died at 1 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, 1997, at a local nursing home after a short illness.
Mrs. Chadwell was born Aug. 28, 1919, at Joplin. She was a homemaker and a member of Byers Avenue United Methodist Church.
She married Earl Chadwell on June 15, 1941, at Little Rock, Ark. He survives.
Also surviving are a son, William E. Chadwell, Oklahoma City, Okla.; a brother, John Freeman, Joplin; four grandchildren; and three great- grandchildren.
The body will be cremated.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Parker Mortuary. The Rev. John Roeder will officiate.
Orville Clark
ANDERSON, Mo. - Orville Clark, 90, Anderson, died at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, 1997, at Gravette (Ark.) Medical Center after an illness.
Mr. Clark was born Nov. 3, 1906, at Anderson. He was a lifetime McDonald County resident. He was a farmer and a house painter. He assisted in the construction of Fort Crowder at Neosho. He also served in the National Guard.
He married Faye Bartlett on Oct. 21, 1929, at Cushing, Okla. She died Jan. 10, 1967.
Surviving are a son, Jim Clark, Owasso, Okla.; three daughters, Mary Lou Wood, Greer, S.C., Doris Dye, Cushing, and Joan Marie Wofford, Coquille, Ore.; a brother, Howard Clark, Bakersfield, Calif.; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Ozark Funeral Home, Anderson. The Rev. Darrell Compton will officiate. Burial will be in Anderson Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Clark, James Clark, Charlie Wofford, Jack Clark, Ray Clark, Jeff Bergen and Richard Bergen.
Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Roy Denton
NEOSHO, Mo. - Roy Virgil Denton, 74, Bartlesville, Okla., a Neosho native, died Sunday evening, Jan. 5, 1997, at his home of natural causes.
Mr. Denton was born Oct. 8, 1922, at Neosho. He graduated from high school at Joplin. He got a chemical engineering degree at University of Missouri at Rolla. He was a navigator during World War II. He received an honorable discharge on Oct. 5, 1945. He began his career for Phillips Petroleum Co. on June 30, 1947, retiring Feb. 1, 1984, as marketing research director. He had lived since 1953 at Bartlesville. He was a member of American Institute of Chemical Engineers and the Independent Petroleum Association of America.
He married Beulah M. "Shorty" Garrett on May 13, 1949, at Shamrock, Texas. She died May 12, 1989.
Surviving are three sons, Coby Denton, Broken Arrow, Okla., Kelly Denton, Augsburg, Germany, and Kyle Denton, Springfield; and four grandchildren.
Services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Neekamp Funeral Home, Bartlesville. The Rev. Mike Barron officiated. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery, Bartlesville.
Everett Gannaway
ORONOGO, Mo. - Everett N. Gannaway, 73, Oronogo route 1, died at 12:53 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, 1997, at his home after a long illness.
Mr. Gannaway was born June 20, 1923, at Dunnegan. He lived in the Oronogo area most of his life. He was a World War II Army veteran. He was a machinist for Vickers Corp., formerly of Joplin. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 322 and Veterans of Foreign Wars, both at Webb City. He was active in citizen's band radio clubs.
He married Mary Deragowski on Oct. 14, 1942, at Stockton. She died Aug. 24, 1993.
The body has been cremated.
Survivors include a son, Jimmie Gannaway, Oronogo; four daughters, Joan Litle, Blue Springs, Judy Hartley, Marshfield, Janice Fay, Claremore, Okla., and Jennifer Waggoner, Joplin; and eight grandchildren.
Arrangements are under the direction of Simpson Funeral Home, Webb City.
Eula Hagins
LAMAR, Mo. - Eula Marie Hagins, 87, Lamar, died at 11:15 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, 1997, at Barton County Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
Mrs. Hagins was born Aug. 13, 1909, at Milford. She was a longtime Barton County resident. She had worked for a chiropractor, Bean's Clothing Store and Dot's Clothing Store, all of Lamar. She was a member of First Christian Church, Lamar.
She married Claude D. Hagins on June 20, 1952, at Lamar. He survives.
Also surviving are a son, Robert J. Fry, St. Louis; a brother, Everett Rose, Mindenmines; three sisters, Reba Waits and June French, both of Lamar, and Marjorie Lutrell, Tulsa, Okla.; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Lohmeyer-Konantz Funeral Home, Lamar. Doug Oakes, minister, will officiate. Burial will be in Memory Gardens, Lamar.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Contributions may be made to the building fund at First Christian Church, in care of the funeral home.
Joseph Hierholzer
AURORA, Mo. - Joseph F. Hierholzer, 78, Aurora, died at 5:43 p.m. Friday, Jan. 10, 1997, at Aurora Community Hospital after a long illness.
Mr. Hierholzer was born Nov. 6, 1918, at Aurora, where he was a lifelong area resident. He was a retired maintenance worker from Mid-America Dairymen, Aurora. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Aurora, and Knights of Columbus No. 2265 at Verona. He was a World War II Army veteran.
He married Elizabeth Mais on July 23, 1947, at Verona. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Mary Anne Taylor, Dexter, and Rebecca Hierholzer, Kansas City, Mo.; two brothers, John Hierholzer, Mojave, Calif., and Robert Hierholzer, Bothell, Wash.; and a grandchild.
Funeral Mass will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. The Rev. Peter Morciniec will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Aurora.
Scripture service will be at 2 p.m. today at Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home, Aurora, where visitation will follow.
