Raymon Freund
NEOSHO, Mo. - Raymon A. Freund, 79, Neosho, died at 10:05 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, at Freeman Neosho Hospital after a four-year illness.
Mr. Freund was born Oct. 18, 1917 in Newton County. He moved to California, and returned to Neosho in 1976. He worked for 20 years for the Production Credit Association in California. He retired in 1973. He was a member of Harvest Baptist Church, Neosho.
He married Barbara Jean Epler on Feb. 18, 1972 in Reno, Nev. She survives.
Also surviving is a son, Ron Freund, Humansville; three step-daughters, Pamela Nickle, state of New Jersey, Deborah George, state of Iowa, and Nancy Evans, Tiff City; a sister, Nellie Shackelford, Davis, Calif.; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 20, 1997 at Clark Funeral Home in Neosho. Pastor Marvin Wright will officiate. Burial will be at Neosho IOOF Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Gene Mathis, Pete Bond, Bob Hysell, Ray Murphy, Louie Johnson and Everett Renfro.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 9 a.m. today.

Val Mason
NEOSHO, Mo. - Val Gene Mason, 64, 311 S. Ripley St., Neosho, was pronounced dead on arrival at 10:33 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, 1997, at Freeman Neosho Hospital after suddenly becoming ill at his home.
Mr. Mason was born June 9, 1932, at Springfield and moved to Neosho in 1937. He was graduated in 1950 from Neosho High School and in 1951 from the former Joplin Junior College. He received a bachelor's degree in 1954 and a master's degree in agriculture in 1955 from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
He worked for a year as a field man for Carnation Milk Co. in Ohio. He then worked out of Kansas City as an animal feed nutritionist, traveling the states of Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, and Texas.
He returned to Neosho in 1970, and farmed and taught from 1976 to 1982 at the former Water and Wastewater Technical School in Neosho. He taught from 1982 to 1984 in the biology department at Missouri Southern State College, from 1985 to 1989 at Exeter High School, and from 1990 to 1991 in the chemistry lab at Southwest Missouri State University, Springfield.
He served from 1949 to 1962 in the Missouri Army National Guard. He formerly served on the board of the Red Cross, and was a former member of the Neosho Kiwanis Club. He was an elder at First Presbyterian Church of Neosho.
He married Fleeta Woods on June 8, 1954, in Neosho. She survives.
He also is survived by two daughters, Valerie Biles, Emporia, Kan., and Joyce Hill, Seymour; his mother, Beulah Klinger, Columbia; a brother, Richard Van Mason, Geneva, N.Y.; a sister, Patricia Ann Rowe, Grove, Okla.; and a grandchild.
The body has been cremated.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at First Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Barry Williams will officiate.
The family will receive friends after the service in the fellowship hall at the church.
Contributions may be made to the church or the College of the Ozarks, Point Lookout.
Arrangements are under the direction of Woodward-Freund-Thompson Funeral Home, Neosho.
Helen Psaras
PIERCE CITY, Mo. - Helen Agnes Psaras, 103, died at 8:20 a.m. Thursday at Cox Monett Hospital after a short illness.
Mrs. Psaras was born March 19, 1893 at Clarkson Springs.
She was a member of First Methodist Church and Dry Valley Ladies Club, both of Pierce City. She was a homemaker.
She lived in New York City for many years before she moved to Monett.
Her husband, Peter Psaras, died May 9, 1972.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Pierce City Cemetery, with the Rev. Crystal Wicks officiating. Visitation will be from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at Lakin Funeral Home, Pierce City.
Contributions may be made to Dry Valley Ladies Club.
Mary Shelley
NEOSHO, Mo. - Mary E. Shelley, 69, Neosho, died at 1:09 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 16, 1997, at Freeman Neosho Hospital, after a long illness.
Ms. Shelley was born April 13, 1927, in Wanda. She was a homemaker and attended Neosho Freewill Baptist Church. She was a Methodist.
Survivors include three brothers, W.C. Six, La Mirada, Calif., Paul Six, Green River, Wyo., and Jesse Six, Neosho; and three sisters, Alta Lemmons, Anderson, Ruth Martin, Risco, and Esta Knight, Neosho.
Private graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Wanda (Mo.) Cemetery. The Rev. D.L. Mitchell will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of Wheaton Funeral Home.
Jo Ann Stanley
ANDERSON, Mo. - Jo Ann Williams Stanley, 52, Anderson, died at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, 1997, at her home after a long illness.
Ms. Stanley was born June 8, 1944, in Iraan, Texas. She moved to Anderson in 1958 from Iraan, Texas. She had been a production worker for La-Z-Boy and Sunbeam plants at Neosho. Later, she worked in the pharmacy and as an x-ray technician and was employed for more than 10 years as a nurse's aide at Freeman Neosho Hospital. She was a member of First Christian Church in Anderson.
Survivors include a son, Robert Duane Stanley, Anderson; a brother, Robert Daniel Williams, Riverton, Kan.; four sisters, Betty Mae Pogue, state of Arkansas, Lois Marie Schooler, Neosho, Mary Jane Roberts, San Angelo, Texas, and Doris Lucille Epperson, Miami, Okla.; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Christian Church. Frank House, minister, will officiate. Burial will be in Peace Valley Cemetery, Anderson.
Pallbearers will be nephews.
Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Friday at Ozark Funeral Home, Anderson.
Donald Broady
Donald E. Broady, 63, 2620 Vermont Ave., died at 7 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, 1997, at his home after a long illness.
Mr. Broady was born Dec. 26, 1933, in the McElhany community, south of Neosho. He lived in the Joplin-Neosho area all of his life. He graduated from Neosho High School. He retired in March 1996 from Eagle-Picher Industries after 16 years with the company. He previously was employed for 26 years by the former Missouri-Rogers Corp. of Joplin.
He was a member of Harmony Heights Baptist Church of Joplin.
He married Ruth Smith on Nov. 22, 1958, at Neosho. She survives.
Additional survivors include two sons, Mark Broady, Carrollton, Texas, and Kent Broady, Carl Junction; his mother, Cletis Broady, Neosho; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Harmony Heights Baptist Church. The Rev. Charles Burnett will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, near Neosho.
Pallbearers will be Bruce Smith, Ron Nunn, Darrell Smith, Don Short, John Buck and Gary Smith.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Mason-Woodward Mortuary.
Jessie Forrester
Jessie Thora Forrester, 91, Simi Valley, Calif., a former Joplin resident, died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 1997, at a nursing home in Chatsworth, Calif., after an illness.
Mrs. Forrester was born July 30, 1905, at Aldrich. She had lived in Springfield and Joplin before moving to California.
Her husband, Earl Robert Forrester, preceded her in death.
Survivors include three sons, Jack Forrester, Fairfield, Calif., Dan Forrester, Simi Valley, and Charles Forrester, the state of Pennsylvania; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
The body will be cremated. No services are planned. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Springfield.
