Ruby Coombes
Ruby Coombes, 78, Joplin, died at 11:45 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19, 1997, at St. John's Regional Medical Center after suffering from Alzheimer's disease.
Mrs. Coombes was born Sept. 8, 1918, at Diamond. She was a lifetime resident of the Joplin area. She was a nurses aide at the former Tradition House nursing home.
She was a Baptist. She was a past president of Social Order of Beauceants and a former member of Ruth Chapter No. 177, Order of the Eastern Star.
She married Doyle S. Coombes on Oct. 10, 1947, at Joplin. He died May 28, 1993.
Survivors include two sons, Fred Coombes, 2216 Texas Ave., and Arthur Lavern Coombes, Orange County, Calif.; a daughter, Katherine Elaine Metcalf, Hot Springs, Ark.; a brother, Clyde Lewis, Kansas City; three sisters, Opal McClendon, Pearl Hight and Nadine Eubanks, all of Joplin; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Parker Mortuary. The Rev. Phillip McClendon will officiate. Burial will be in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will serve as pallbearers.
Contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Research, in care of the mortuary.
Bradley Doty
Bradley J. Doty, 39, Richardson, Texas, a former Joplin resident, died about 11:15 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, 1997, at Stuart, Fla., from injuries received when he was struck by a car.
The death is under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
Mr. Doty was born Sept. 25, 1957, at Anaheim, Fla. He was a graduate of the former Parkwood High School at Joplin. He moved to Tulsa and attended University of Tulsa School of Law, graduating in 1983. He had worked in the human resources and employee benefits field for both Purolator Products and the accounting firm of Deloitte and Touchie. He currently was working for Northrup-Grumman, Dallas, Texas.
He formerly was a member of Metro Wesleyan Church, Tulsa, and currently a member of Collin Creek Community (Wesleyan) Church, Plano, Texas. He was a Promise Keeper ambassador and active in men's ministries. He was a veteran of the Navy.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Doty; two daughters, Kelsey Beth Doty and Charity Doty, both of Richardson; a son, Michael Doty, Tulsa; his mother, Joan Parr, Tulsa; and a brother, Dale Doty, Tulsa.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Christ Presbyterian Church, Tulsa. The Rev. Jack Gilbert and the Rev. Blair Ritchey will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Tulsa.
A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Collin Creek Community Church, Plano, Texas.
Arrangements are under the direction of Moore's Southlawn Funeral Home, Tulsa.
Contributions may be made to the building fund of Collin Creek Community Church, Plano, Texas.
Ron Hailey
Ron Hailey, 45, Golden, Colo., a Joplin native, died Thursday, Jan. 16, 1997, at St. Anthony's Hospital, Denver, Colo., after a short illness.
Mr. Hailey was born Aug. 14, 1951, at Joplin. He graduated in 1969 from McAuley Regional High School and attended Missouri Southern State College. He enlisted in 1970 in the Marine Corps 1st battalion training regiment at Camp Pendleton, Calif. He served in Vietnam for about three years. He then worked about 20 years at Consumer's Market at Joplin and at Miami, Okla.
Survivors include his wife, the former June Stinson; two sons, Christopher Hailey and Jeffery Hailey, both of Neosho; his parents, John and Ann Hailey, Joplin; and two sisters, Marilyn Henderson, Wentworth, and Linda Kay Beaver, Portland, Ore.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Choice Cremation and Funeral Service, Lakewood, Colo. Robert Hemming will officiate. Burial will be in Golden (Colo.) Cemetery.
Beeda Cloud
ROCKY COMFORT, Mo. - Memorial visitation for Beeda Mae Cloud, 70, Rocky Comfort, who died Wednesday, will be at 2 p.m. today at Wheaton (Mo.) Funeral Home.
The body has been cremated.
Lyle Daniel
LOCKWOOD, Mo. - Lyle Allen Daniel, 81, Lockwood, died at 8:25 a.m. Monday, Jan. 20, 1997, at his home after an illness.
Mr. Daniel was born Nov. 8, 1915, in Woodard County, Okla. He was a farmer in Dade County. He was a custodian for Lockwood schools for 16 years and owned Daniel Grave Opening Service for 16 years.
He was a member of Mount Nebo Baptist Church and Roy E. Carr Post No. 372, American Legion, Greenfield. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
He married Elizabeth E. Wilde on Oct. 9, 1937. She survives.
He was preceded in death by a son.
Survivors include four sons, Bernard Daniel, Lockwood, Kermit A. Daniel, Monett, Ray L. Daniel and Roy F. Daniel, both of Greenfield; a daughter, Celteen Wilkins, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; a brother, Austin Daniel, Greenfield; 20 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and six great-step-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Greenfield (Mo.) Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Bob Martens will officiate. Burial will be in Collins Cemetery, west of Greenfield.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral chapel.
Contributions may be made to Collins Cemetery.
Sandra Gwin
MILLER, Mo. - Sandra Lea Keller Gwin, 54, Miller, died at 2:30 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 19, 1997, at her home after a long illness.
Mrs. Gwin was born Aug. 10, 1942, at Lawrence, Mich. She moved to the Miller area in November 1996.
She was a retired school bus driver, having driven for 26 years in Niles, Mich.
She married Jackie Lee Gwin on Oct. 27, 1962, at Cheyenne, Wyo. He survives.
Other survivors include two sons, David Gwin, Niles, Mich., and Don Gwin, Jackson, Mich.; her father, Clarence Rolland Keller, Lakeland, Fla.; a sister, Paula Barker, San Jose, Calif., and three grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Miller Memorial Gardens Cemetery, south of Miller, with the Rev. Bob Holman officiating.
Friends may call after 9 a.m. today at Morris-Leiman-Mosher Funeral Home, Miller. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Sylvia Hoyt
NEOSHO, Mo. - Sylvia Mae Hoyt, 86, Neosho, died at 2:10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 20, 1997 at a Neosho nursing home after a short illness.
Mrs. Hoyt was born May 1, 1910 in Newton County. She was a lifelong area resident. She had worked at Empson Bakery and Ben Franklin Variety Store, both in Neosho.
She married Edward "Noodles" Hoyt on May 4, 1929 at Baxter Springs, Kan. He died Feb. 17, 1971.
Survivors include three sons, Blair Hoyt, Neosho, Ron Hoyt, Helotes, Texas, and Cecil Hoyt, Littleton, Colo.; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Clark Funeral Home. The Rev. Barry Williams will officiate. Burial will be in Neosho Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Bud Hensley, Lewis Cole, Tom Brasiola, Jerry Gray, Ray Lane and Ray Cooper.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
