Isiah Rundel
Isiah Andrew Booth Rundel, infant son of Adrean Booth and Donnie Rundel, 501 North Anderson, was stillborn Monday, Feb. 3, 1997, at Freeman Hospital West.
Additional survivors include paternal grandparents, Tina Berry, Joplin, Leo Rundel and Joey Upton, both of Webb City; maternal grandparents, Phyllis and Amos Booth, Webb City, and Phillip and Lillian Williams, Webb City; maternal great-grandmother, Cathy Booth, Joplin; and paternal great-grandparents, Alonco and Dorothy Rundel, Carterville.
Arrangements are pending with Mason-Woodard Mortuary.
Mildred Cooper
NEVADA, Mo. - Mildred Opal Owens Cooper, 89, Nevada, died Saturday, Feb. 1, 1997, at Nevada Regional Medical Center after a sudden illness.
Mrs. Cooper was born Aug. 7, 1907, at Montevallo, Mo. She was a 1926 graduate of Montevallo High School. She attended Southwest Missouri State Teachers College, Springfield.
She was a teacher at Montevallo Elementary School for a few years. She was a contributing writer to various publications, including Nevada Daily Mail.
She was a member of Montevallo First Baptist Church. She was a member of Rebecca Lodge, Nevada.
She married Herbert B. Cooper on June 16, 1928, at Montevallo. He died in March 1990.
She also was preceded in death by a son.
Survivors include three sons, Royal O. Cooper, Jefferson City, and Lee Cooper and Ray Cooper, both of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; a sister, Twyla Jean Bothwell, Hummelstown, Pa.; and five grandchildren.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with the Rev. Bill Cox officiating. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery, Milo.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Eva Couch
NEOSHO, Mo. - Eva Inez Couch, 88, Springdale, Ark., formerly of Neosho, died at 9 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 2, 1997, at a Springdale nursing home of a short illness.
Mrs. Couch was born Feb. 19, 1908, at Powell. She lived 35 years in Neosho, moving in 1981 to Springdale. She was a homemaker and a member of Elmdale Baptist Church, Springdale. She was a former member of First Baptist Church, Neosho.
She married Gayle Couch on Dec. 6, 1924, at Tulsa, Okla. He died July 9, 1983.
Surviving are three sons, William Lee Couch, Springdale, Gary W. Couch, Chino, Calif., and James R. Couch, Tucson, Ariz.; two daughters, Doris E. Tertzakian, Detroit, Mich., and Willa Dean Crumbliss, North Scituate, R.I.; 15 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
A daughter preceded her in death.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Elmdale Baptist Church, Springdale. The Rev. Mark Brooks and the Rev. Burton Miley will officiate.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Gibson Cemetery, Neosho.
Pallbearers will be Tom Pogue, Charles Brown, Ralph Crumpackers, Glen Seals, Arthur Nally and Bob Ryan.
The body may be viewed from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. today at Clark Funeral Home, Neosho, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at Elmdale Baptist Church, Springdale.
Contributions may be made to Elmdale Baptist Church, in care of the funeral home.
Dicie McCoy
NEVADA, Mo. - Dicie McCoy, 98, Clinton, formerly of Vernon County near Nevada, died Sunday, Feb. 2, 1997, at a Clinton nursing home after a long illness.
Mrs. McCoy was born Sept. 24, 1898.
She lived most of her life in Vernon County. She worked for many years at Veith's Cafe, Nevada.
She was a Baptist.
She married Thomas J. McCoy. He died in 1944.
Survivors include a granddaughter.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with John Nichols officiating.
Burial will be in Newton Burial Park, Nevada.
Friends may call until the hour of the service at the funeral home.

Jerry Peters
PIERCE CITY, Mo. - Jerry Malone Peters, 69, Pierce City, died at 1:45 p.m. Sunday at his home after a long illness.
Mr. Peters was born Feb. 25, 1927, at Nevada. He was a retired Air Force major.
He was a member of First Congregational Church, Pierce City, and Retired Officers Association.
He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Tom Wolfe Memorial Post 4207, Monett.
He was a member of American Legion, Hobbs-Anderson Post 91, Monett.
He married Virginia Barnett on Dec. 27, 1955, at Monett. She survives.
Additional survivors include five children, names and hometowns unavailable; a brother, name and hometown unavailable; a sister, name and hometown unavailable; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home, Monett.
Burial will be in Monett IOOF Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, where military services will be conducted at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
R. Merle Smith
MOUNT VERNON, Mo. - R. Merle Agan Smith, 96, Mount Vernon, died at 6 p.m. Saturday at a local nursing home after a long illness.
Mrs. Smith was born Sept. 11, 1900, at Logan.
She taught elementary school at Spanish Fort and Heatonville.
She was a 74-year member of the local First Presbyterian Church.
Her husband, Earl Smith, died in 1985.
Survivors include a daughter, Connie Stemmons, Mount Vernon; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home, Mount Vernon.
The Rev. Warren Fikejs and the Rev. Dean Hendricks will officiate.
Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery, Mount Vernon.
Elizabeth Hughlett
Elizabeth Hughlett, 55, Joplin route 6, died at 2:35 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 16, 1997, at St. John's Regional Medical Center after a sudden illness.
Mrs. Hughlett was born April 18, 1941, at Birmingham, Ala.
She lived in the state of California for 30 years, moving to Joplin in 1990. She was a homemaker.
She married Jimmie E. Hughlett on April 24, 1959, at Reseda, Calif. He survives.
Additional survivors include a daughter, Margaret Ann Hughlett, Thousand Oaks, Calif.; four brothers, Bobby Gene Owen, Eugene, Ore., Howard Thomas Owen, Palmdale, Calif., and Glen Harold Owen and Doyle Lewis Owen, both of Birmingham; and two sisters, Willa Dean Ashmore, Frazier Park, Calif., and Margaret Louise Taylor, Mobile, Ala.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Osborne Memorial Cemetery.
John Koehler will officiate.
