Bonnie Plybon
MOUNT VERNON, Mo. - Bonnie J. Plybon, 78, Mount Vernon, died at 2:50 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, 1997, at St. John's Regional Health Center, Springfield, after a short illness.
Mrs. Plybon was born Oct. 18, 1918, in Barry County. She was a retired dietary worker at Missouri Rehabilitation Center.
Her husband, Vurn Plybon, died in 1987.
Survivors include are two sons, John Plybon, Mount Vernon, and Terry Plybon, Halltown; two daughters, Lavern Crowe, Fordland, and Brenda Hendricks, Olathe, Kan.; two brothers, Donnie Garner, address unavailable, and Jerry Garner, Aurora; three sisters, Minnie Kanton and Pauline Gold, both of Aurora, and Reathel Brown, Billings; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home, Mount Vernon. The Rev. Dean Hendricks will officiate. Burial will be in Pritchett Cemetery, north of Chesapeake.
Pallbearers will be Curtis Plybon, Chris Plybon, John L. Plybon, Shannon Crowe, Bryan Crowe and J.C. Hendricks.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Contributions may be made to the John Taylor Senior Citizen Center, Mount Vernon.
Dixie Sutherland
AURORA, Mo. - Dixie Sutherland, 77, Aurora, died at 11:06 p.m. Monday, Feb. 17, 1997, at Cox Regional Medical Center South, Springfield, after a long illness.
Mrs. Sutherland was born Jan. 15, 1920, at Leann, Mo. She was a beautician and a homemaker. She was a member of Jefferson Church of Christ, Aurora. She was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Sutherland and Harry Sutherland, both of Verona; five daughters, Betty Walker, Verona, Carol Blevins, Marionville, Elaine Swadley, Cassville, and Jo Jordan and Gaylene Saunders, both of Monett; three sisters, June Thomas, Crane, Betty Eppinette, Galena, Mo., and Juanita Stewart, Aurora; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home, Aurora. The Rev. Harold Gold will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Park Cemetery, Aurora.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Harold Davidson
Harold Isaac Davidson, 77, Joplin, died at 10:17 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 16, 1997, at a local nursing home after an illness.
Mr. Davidson was born Oct. 1, 1919, at Waynoka, Okla. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He had lived several years in the state of California, where he was an engineer for California Asphalt. He moved 37 years ago to Missouri, where he operated dairy farms in Barry and Greene counties.
He married Oleta Vanderpool on Dec. 31, 1937. She survives.
Additional survivors include a son, Edward Davidson, Riverside, Calif.; four daughters, Faye Smith and Nancy Rudarmel, both of Joplin, Gladys Karg, Upper Sandusky, Ohio, and Loretta McIntyre, Bend, Ore.; four brothers, Howard Davidson, Cassville, O.E. Davidson and Leroy Davidson, both of Waynoka, and Leo Davidson, the state of Pennsylvania; a sister, Ethel Bradberry, the state of Pennsylvania; 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at New Salem Cemetery, Seligman. The Rev. Paul Yarnall will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.
Esther Grant
Esther Ruth Best Grant, 77, Galena, Mo., died Monday, Feb. 17, 1997, at a Springfield nursing home after a long illness. She is the mother of Denia Beason, Joplin.
Mrs. Grant was born Feb. 9, 1920, in Greene County. She graduated in 1938 from Willard High School, then attended Draughn Business College. She was a homemaker and an 18-year word processor for Baird, Kurtz & Dobson, a regional accounting firm. She was a member of Cedar Ridge Baptist Church.
Additional survivors include her husband, Dennis Grant; a sister, Ila Mae Bildman, Coffeyville, Kan.; three grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Wilson-Brim-Daniel Funeral Home, Ash Grove. The Rev. John Perryman will officiate. Burial will be in Ash Grove Cemetery.
John Isbell Sr.
John E. Isbell Sr., 67, 3401 Oak Ridge Drive, died at 1:30 a.m. Monday at Freeman Hospital West after a long illness.
Mr. Isbell was born Oct. 3, 1929, at Blanchard, Okla. He moved to Joplin in 1971 from Goodlettsville, Tenn. He began driving for Tri-State Motor Transit in 1965 and was promoted to terminal manager at Goodlettsville. He joined Contract Freighters in 1981 and became the chief dispatcher. He also served as director of operations and was promoted to vice president of terminals until his retirement in 1991. He was a member of Free Will Baptist Church.
He was a member of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels; Joplin Lodge No. 335 AF&AM; Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Joplin; Abou Ben Adhem Shrine Temple, Springfield; and Joplin Shrine Club. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
He married Betty Jean Watson on Nov. 27, 1947, at Blanchard. She died Jan. 17, 1994.
Survivors include two sons, John Isbell Jr., Houston, Texas, and Mark Isbell Sr., of the home; three sisters, Jo Ann Terrell, Santa Fe, N.M., Mary Ruth Dwyer, Oklahoma City, Okla., and Fleda Hulsey, Stillwater, Okla.; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Mason-Woodard Mortuary. The Rev. John Staggs will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Glen Brown, Ron Durbin, Jim Cory, Joe Hensley, Troy Moore, Don Terrell and Ike Eisenhour.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Marvin Thompson
Services for Marvin W. Thompson, 76, Joplin, who died Sunday, will be at 11 a.m. today at First Presbyterian Church Chapel.
The Rev. William Christman will officiate. Burial will be in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
Orvil Brinson
MONETT, Mo. - Orvil O. Brinson, 83, Monett, died at 5:25 a.m. Monday, Feb. 17, 1997, at Cox-Monett Hospital after a long illness.
Mr. Brinson was born May 23, 1913, at Crowder, Okla. He moved to Monett in 1974 from Denver. He was a Marine veteran of World War II. He was a truck driver and a member of Church of Christ, Monett.
He married Evelyn Wolfe on Dec. 2, 1964, at Denver. She survives.
Additional survivors include a brother, Ed Brinson, Denver; a sister, Opal Marshall, Denver; and two step-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett. Dale Graham, minister, will officiate. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery, Monett.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Howard Caldwell
WEBB CITY, Mo. - Services for Howard Caldwell, 74, Broken Arrow, Okla., a Webb City native, who died Thursday, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Asbury United Methodist Church, Tulsa.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Highland Park Cemetery, Broken Arrow. The Rev. Theodore Inman will officiate.
Mr. Caldwell was born May 15, 1922, at Webb City. He attended local schools and graduated from Webb City High School. He was a Marine veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was an electrical engineer at Nelson Electric Manufacturing Co., Tulsa. He moved to Broken Arrow in 1977.
He married Delores Stuckey on April 21, 1946, at Webb City. She died Jan. 31, 1992.
Survivors include a daughter, Erinn Caldwell, Lincoln, Neb.
