James Williamson
MOUNT VERNON, Mo. - James Morse Williamson, 64, 623 E. South St., Mount Vernon, died at 3 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, 1997, at his home after a short illness.
Mr. Williamson was born May 24, 1932, at Heatonville.
He moved to Mount Vernon from California in 1980.
He was a review appraiser for the Lawrence County assessor's office.
He was an Army veteran.
He married Barbara Bradford. She survives.
Other survivors include four sons, Rick Williamson, Upland, Calif., Michael Williamson, Richmond, Calif., Ronnie Williamson, Mount Vernon, and Scott Williamson, Fort Leonard Wood; two sisters, Dorothy Brown, Whittier, Calif., and Ann Jenkins, Glendora, Calif.; and a grandchild.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home, Mount Vernon, with the Rev. Craig Hunnel officiating.
Burial will be in Summit Cemetery, northeast of Mount Vernon.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Contributions may be made to Hospice of Southwest Missouri.
Roy Calverley
Memorial services for Roy Lee Calverley, 46, Joplin, who died Thursday, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at 3807 Silver Creek Drive, Joplin.
Services are under direction of Walnut Lawn DeGraffenreid-Wood Funeral Home, Springfield.
Harold Crabb
Harold E. Crabb, 93, Joplin, died at 12:20 a.m. Monday, Feb. 10, 1997, at his home after a short illness.
Mr. Crabb was born Dec. 31, 1903, at Lamar.
He was a farmer in rural Asbury.
He had lived in Carl Junction and moved to Joplin in 1995.
He retired in 1968 from the Missouri State Highway Department, where he had worked 18 years as a mechanic.
He was a member of Harmony Heights Baptist Church and the Co-ed Sunday School Class.
He formerly attended Baptist churches at Asbury and Carl Junction.
He was a member of the Highway Department bowling league.
He married Daisy V. Vandermullen on Aug. 9, 1926, at Arma, Kan. She survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Nadine Sellers, Springfield, and Georgia Allene Cooke and Dorene Sweeten, both of Joplin; three sisters, Lottie Burger, Asbury, Emma Ellison, Colorado Springs, Colo., and Marjorie Williams, Carl Junction; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Harmony Heights Baptist Church.
The Rev. Charlie Davidson and the Rev. Charlie Burnett will officiate.
Burial will be in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Stanley Burger, Ronnie Burger, Brad Burger, Scott Burger, Jay Williams and Gifford Crabb.
The Co-Ed Sunday School Class will be seated as a group.
The family will be at the home.

Veva Lawson
Veva M. Lawson, 86, 215 W. 43rd St., Joplin, died at 11:25 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 9, 1997, at her home after a long illness.
Mrs. Lawson was born June 12, 1910, at Joplin.
She was a lifetime Joplin resident.
She graduated from Joplin High School in 1928.
She was a homemaker.
She had been a member of Fairview Baptist Church since 1910.
She married Wilmer L. Lawson on June 15, 1929, at Joplin. He survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Lois Campbell and Lera Dill, both of Joplin, and Leta Sowersby, Seneca; eight grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 3:30 p.m. today at Mason-Woodard Mortuary.
The Rev. Bill Riddle and the Rev. John Bilyeu will officiate. Burial will be in Osborne Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Tom Powell, Brad Campbell, Tim A. Sowersby, Jim Jones, Dale Roark, John Jones, Paul Hively and Barry Dill.
Contributions may be made to Fairview Baptist Church.
Fred A. St. Clair
Fred A. St. Clair, 53, 1718 Wall St., Joplin, died at 9:25 a.m. Monday, Feb. 10, 1997, at St. John's Regional Medical Center, after ten months of ill health.
Mr. St. Clair was born Oct. 4, 1943, at San Acacio, Colo.
He moved to Joplin 11 years ago from Kansas City.
He worked with the United States Cold Storage Co. in Kansas City for 17 years.
He married Birdella S. Newton on April 6, 1968, at Kansas City. She survives.
Additional survivors include a son, Michael A. St. Clair, Kansas City; a stepson, Jeff Barratt, Neosho; a stepdaughter, Kayleen Kimbrough, Kansas City; his mother, Ida St. Clair, Kansas City; and two step-grandchildren.
Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Mason-Woodard Mortuary.
The Rev. Marty Wilson will officiate.
The body will be cremated.
Burial will be at a later date at Newtonia Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the home of Gary and Donna Gaston, 1119 E. 34th St., Joplin.
Walter Edwards
SARCOXIE, Mo. - Walter "Slim" Edwards, 77, Sarcoxie, died at 2:59 p.m. Monday, Feb. 10, 1997, at St. John's Regional Medical Center, Joplin, after a sudden illness.
Mr. Edwards was born March 15, 1919, at Douglas, Wyo.
He was a lifetime area resident.
He worked for the former Herrod Packing Co. for 16 years.
He also had been a farmer.
He was a member of Morningside Baptist Church.
He married Betty Reynolds on Aug. 25, 1944.
She died Jan. 22, 1971.
Survivors include four sons, James Edwards, Rigby, Idaho, Joe Edwards, Webb City, Jerry Edwards and Jack Edwards, both of Sarcoxie; four daughters, Joyce Maggard, Janet Edwards, Jeanie Root, and Jennie Edwards, all of Sarcoxie; a brother, Dallas Edwards, Sarcoxie; 28 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are pending with Housh Funeral Home.
Orpha Greenway
MONETT, Mo. - Orpha J. Greenway, 80, Tulsa, Okla., formerly of Monett, died at 5:45 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 9, 1997, at the home of a daughter in Tulsa after a long illness.
Mrs. Greenway was born Jan. 14, 1917, at Jenkins.
She moved from Aurora to Monett in 1980.
She moved to Tulsa two years ago.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church, Monett.
She married Lewis "Bosky" Greenway on Dec. 29, 1932, at Cassville. He died Nov. 29, 1992.
Survivors include a daughter, Darlene Nelson, Tulsa; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett.
The Rev. Ken Dodson will officiate.
Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery, Monett.
