Kay Martin
Kathleen Drury "Kay" Martin, 75, 2435 E. 11th St., died at 12:15 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, 1997, at her home of an illness.
Mrs. Martin was born July 21, 1921, at New York, N.Y. She had lived at Joplin since 1955, when she moved from Lamar. She was a homemaker and a past president of the Wednesday Study Club. She was a member of the St. John's Regional Medical Center Auxiliary, the American Field Service and Twin Hills Golf and Country Club.
She married Kent W. Martin on Jan. 1, 1946, at Dallas, Texas. He survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Ralph Drury Martin, Washington D.C., and Kent Michael Martin, Joplin; three sisters, Betty Manger, Joplin, Olive Maccarone, Hyannis, Mass., and Eileen Levy, Alpharetta, Ga.; and two grandchildren.
The body will be cremated.
Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Parker Mortuary, where family will receive friends afterward. The Rev. David C. Patrick will officiate.
Contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
Myrtle Pim
Myrtle I. Pim, 84, 1719 Iowa Ave., died at 8:20 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, 1997, at a local nursing home after several years of ill health.
Mrs. Pim was born July 10, 1912, at Webb City. She lived most of her life in Joplin. She was a homemaker.
She married Fred G. Pim on May 19, 1956, at Miami, Okla. He survives.
Other survivors include a grandchild and two great-grandchildren.
A daughter preceded her in death.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Larry Six will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary.
Alice Raymond
Alice D. Raymond, 80, 1603 Furnace St., died at 5:20 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, 1997, at the Christian Health Care Center, after a long illness.
Mrs. Raymond was born Oct 22, 1916, in Joplin. She was a lifetime resident. She was a homemaker and a Protestant. She was a member of the Joplin Arthritis Association.
She married Homer "Roy" Raymond on June 11, 1934 in Joplin. He died in May 1989.
Survivors include a son, Ron Raymond, Joplin; a daughter, Judy Intagliata, St. Louis; two brothers, Wilbur Roush and Tom Roush, both of Joplin; three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Mason-Woodard Chapel. The Rev. Ron Wade will officiate. Burial will be in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the chapel.
Charles Creamer
LIBERAL, Mo. - Charles Lee Creamer, 67, Liberal, died at 9:28 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, 1997, at Freeman Hospital West, Joplin, after a long illness.
Mr. Creamer was born Feb. 2, 1930, at Hannon. He had lived in Liberal for 30 years. He was an Air Force and Marine veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars. He retired from the military in 1970. He worked for O'Sullivan Industries, Lamar, for several years until his retirement.
He was a member of the Hannon Free Will Baptist Church. He was a member of the Liberal Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 2664.
He married Momoko "Peachy" Takemura on May 19, 1958, at Osaka, Japan. She survives.
Other survivors include a brother, Eugene Creamer, Port Orford, Ore; and a sister, Alta Westberg, Lamar.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Lohmeyer-Konantz Funeral Home, Lamar, with the Rev. Bob Dickey officiating. Burial will be in Barton City Cemetery, near Liberal. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the Liberal Veterans of Foreign Wars post.
Pallbearers will be Burton Rea, Lloyd Weaver, Mark Abts, Frank Adams, Don Bunton, Lee Bunton, Jerry Stewart and Wayne Waring.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Gracie Crow
WEBB CITY, Mo. - Gracie M. Crow, 75, Webb City, died at 11:32 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, 1997, at Freeman Hospital East, Joplin, after a long illness.
Mrs. Crow was born July 6, 1921, at Waterloo, Iowa. She was a homemaker and a member of Liberty Baptist Church, Webb City.
She married Arnold Crow on Aug. 10, 1941. He died April 3, 1965.
Survivors include a daughter, Dixie Crow, Webb City; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Carterville Cemetery. The Rev. Gene Needham will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Mike Lacey, James Nunn, Jay Dee Nunn and Josie Sainz Jr.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Simpson Funeral Home, Webb City.
Jewel Harnar
LANAGAN, Mo. - Jewel W. Harnar, 90, Lanagan, died at 7 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, 1997, at an Anderson nursing home after a long illness.
Mrs. Harnar was born April 14, 1906, in Pettigrew, Ark. She had lived most of her life in Lanagan. She was a member of Faith Chapel Assembly of God in Anderson.
She married Clifford "Buck" Harnar in 1934 at Pineville. He died July 21, 1995. Survivors include a son, Danny Harnar, Tulsa, Okla.; and a daughter, Betty Latty, Lanagan; five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Lanagan Cemetery. Derald Compton will officiate. Friends may call Ozark Funeral Home, Anderson, between 2 and 7 p.m. today.
Pallbearers will be Gene Latty, Monte Harnar, Aaron Harnar, Francis Bartley, William Mosby and Caleb Mosby.
Nora Kyger
CARTHAGE, Mo. - Nora J. Kyger, 90, Carthage, died at 1:10 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, 1997, at a local nursing home after a long illness.
Miss Kyger was born June 8, 1906, at Diamond. She lived since 1942 in Carthage, where she moved from Diamond. She worked 41 years at McCune-Brooks Hospital. She was a member of First Christian Church.
There are no immediate survivors.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Diamond Cemetery. David Cook, minister, will officiate.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Ulmer Funeral Home, Carthage.
