Orby Fitzwater
CASSVILLE, Mo. - Orby E. Fitzwater, 88, Cassville, died Tuesday night, March 11, 1997, at his home after a long illness.
Mr. Fitzwater was born March 19, 1908, in Missouri. He was a millwright in the construction industry for several years. He later spent several years at Carthage, where he worked for Leggett and Platt. He then traveled for several years. He lived in Eagle Rock before moving to Cassville in 1987.
He was a member of the Machinist Local Union at Joplin and was a charter member of the Community Center in Eagle Rock. He had been active in the Carthage Men's Baseball League.
He married Neoma Pearl Greninger on Feb. 9, 1935, at Columbus, Kan. She died Aug. 9, 1991.
Survivors include three sons, Bill Fitzwater, Las Vegas, Nev., Jerry Fitzwater, Monterey Park, Calif., and Bob Fitzwater, Wichita, Kan.; a daughter, Colleen Woodhouse, Las Vegas; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. The Rev. Jerry Sjoberg will officiate. The body will be cremated after the services.
Friends may call after 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Frances Hagemeier
SENECA, Mo. - Frances L. Hagemeier, 48, Seneca, died at 3:04 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, 1997, at St. John's Regional Medical Center, Joplin, after an illness.
Mrs. Hagemeier was born Oct. 7, 1948, in Newton County. She had been a waitress at several Joplin restaurants.
Survivors include two sons, Shane Hagemeier, Gravette, Ark., and Shawn Hagemeier, Seneca; her mother, Vera Church, Carthage; two brothers, Bryant Church, address unavailable, and Terry Johnson, state of Arkansas; and three sisters, Pat King, Galena, Kan., Reta Warner, state of California, and Carolyn Gerber, Memphis, Mo.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Seneca Cemetery. Harold Reaves, minister, will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca.
Lynne Hardaway
WEBB CITY, Mo. - Lynne T. Hardaway, 73, 214 Par Ave., died at 1:09 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, 1997, at Freeman Hospital West, Joplin, after a short illness.
Mrs. Hardaway was born March 4, 1924, at Joplin. She moved to Webb City 36 years ago from Joplin. She was a graduate of Joplin High School. She was employed for 20 years as a bookkeeper for Safeway Bakery Co., Joplin, and later worked in the Joplin law office of James De Neen.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Webb City. She did volunteer work for St. John's Regional Medical Center Auxiliary.
She married Ira F. Hardaway on Aug. 5, 1945, in Joplin.
Her husband is her only immediate survivor.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery, Joplin. The Rev. Bob Easton will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hedge-Lewis Funeral Home, Webb City.
The family will be at the home of a nephew, Steve Lenger, 2416 N. Ohio Ave., Joplin.
Larry Householder
CARTHAGE, Mo. - Larry J. Householder, 48, Carthage, died Tuesday, March 11, 1997, at his home after a short illness.
Mr. Householder was born Feb. 3, 1949, at Nevada. He was a 1967 graduate of Nevada High School, where he played football. He worked for the Missouri and Union Pacific Railroad for 26 years.
He was a member of the United Transportation Union for 23 years. He was a member of Elks Lodge No. 564, Nevada.
Survivors include a son, Shane Householder, Lamar; a daughter, Taryn Householder, Springfield; his parents, Harry C. and L. Maxine Householder, Milo; a brother, Leland Householder, Fayetteville, Ark.; and a grandchild.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Milster Funeral Home, Nevada. The Rev. Carl Craig will officiate.
The body will be cremated after the services.
Novie Reynolds
NEVADA, Mo. - Novie J. Reynolds, 86, Nevada, died Sunday, March 9, 1997, at a nursing home in Nevada after an illness.
Mrs. Reynolds was born Nov. 25, 1910, at Lowell, Ark.
She was married to Howard Johnson, who died Oct. 15, 1929, and Armon Reynolds, who died Jan. 29, 1936.
Survivors include two sons, Bill Johnson, Harwood, and Lewis Reynolds, Adrian; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
The body will be cremated.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Schell City (Mo.) United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Schell City.
Arrangements are under the direction Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.
James Danielson
James H. Danielson, 67, Madrid, Iowa, formerly of Joplin, died Thursday, March 13, 1997, at his home after an illness.
Mr. Danielson was June 17, 1929, at Madrid. He had lived many years in Joplin before he moved to Madrid two years ago. He was last employed by Pacific Molasses, Galena, Kan. He also had served as an assistant fire chief at Redings Mill.
He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include 10 children and step-children; 16 grandchildren and step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Virgil Danielson and Dan Danielson, both of Madrid; and three sisters, Wilma Miller, Mildred Peterson and Maxine Anderson, all of Madrid.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Sundberg-Kirkpatrick Funeral Home, Madrid. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Burkhart Cemetery, Racine.
Cecil Hammond
Cecil B. Hammond, 76, 1407 Wisconsin Ave., died at 8 a.m. Thursday, March 13, 1997, at his home after a long illness.
Mr. Hammond was born Aug. 22, 1920, at Covington County, Ala. He had lived in the Joplin area for 20 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War and was a railroad worker. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion and Disabled American Veterans.
His wife, Kathryn E. Hammond, died on April 26, 1995.
Survivors include a brother, Mack Hammond, Daleville, Ala.; and two sisters, Lydia Geologan, Andalusia, Ala., and Mattie Dalton, Jacksonville, Fla.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Ozark Memorial Cemetery. The Rev. Junior Elam will officiate.
