Charles Relford
Charles Herschel Relford, 87, Joplin, died at 7:45 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, 1997, at a Joplin nursing home after a short illness.
Mr. Relford was born Feb. 8, 1910, at Parma. He retired from Joplin Printing Co. with eight years of service. He was a tree trimmer for 19 years with the former Bob Clay's Service Co. He served in the Army during World War II and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 534. He was a member of Villa Heights Christian Church.
He married Margaret Evelyn Bushner on July 3, 1968, at Miami, Okla. She died Jan. 2, 1990.
Survivors include two stepsons, Donald Hudson, Joplin, and Charles Hudson, Jefferson City; two stepdaughters, Patricia Coleman, Carterville, and Athena Hart, Fort Wayne, Ind.; a sister, Edna Taylor, Mexico, Mo.; a brother, Elmer Relford, Mexico, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Graveside services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery, Joplin. The Rev. Duane Trimble will officiate. Military rites will be conducted by Earl J. Bruton Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 534.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. today at Parker Mortuary, Joplin.

Betty Wuellner
Betty Beck Wuellner, 71, Joplin, died at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, 1997, after she suffered an apparent heart attack two miles north of Stotts City on Highway 97.
Ms. Wuellner was born July 11, 1925, near Stotts City.
She had lived in Joplin for 20 years.
She attended Mount Vernon schools.
She was a cattle farmer most of her life in the Miller area.
She helped to maintain the grounds of Beck Cemetery and the old Beck Community School House in Lawrence County for 20 years.
She was a member of Miller United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a sister, Joan Kilburn, Joplin.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Parker Mortuary. The Rev. J.K. Wright will officiate.
Burial will be at noon Saturday in Beck Cemetery north of Stotts City.
Contributions may be made to Beck Cemetery Association, in care of the mortuary.
Douglas Bean
AURORA, Mo. - Graveside services for Douglas S. Bean, 68, Aurora, who died Thursday, March 6, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Cornith Cemetery, north of Cassville.
The body has been cremated.

Mary Boyd
CASSVILLE, Mo. - Mary Lou Cooper Boyd, 68, Cassville, died at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 12, 1997, at her residence after a long illness.
Mrs. Boyd was born Jan. 23, 1929, at Claremore, Okla.
She grew up in McDonald County and was graduated in 1947 from Stella High School.
She worked at Cramer Industries, Kansas City, Kan., for 18 years and at Avon Products in Illinois for four years before she moved to Cassville in 1990.
She was a Methodist.
She married James Carl Boyd on March 31, 1951, at Bentonville, Ark. He survives.
Other survivors include a son, Carl David Boyd, Grain Valley; two daughters, Linda Sue Parrish, Oak Grove, and Cynthia Ann Hicks, Harper, Kan.; a stepson, Gary Franklin Boyd, Wichita, Kan.; five brothers, Wayne Cooper, Bartlesville, Okla., William Cooper, Mesquite, Texas, Charles Cooper, Prairie Village, Kan., John Cooper, Weatherford, Texas, and Joe Cooper, Murfreesboro, Tenn.; two sisters, Dorothy Hook, Bethany, and Betty Marie Stilts, Madison, Tenn.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Union Cemetery, Longview, with the Rev. Bertha Boyd officiating.
Pallbearers will be Bill Cooper, Kenny Cooper, Mike Cooper, Phil Hicks, Cody Parrish and Larry Parrish.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Williamson Funeral Home, Cassville.
Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, in care of the funeral home.
Robert Carter
CASSVILLE, Mo. - Robert L. Carter, 47, Cassville, died at 1:50 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, 1997, at his sister's home after a long illness.
Mr. Carter was born Nov. 26, 1949, at Vernonia, Ore.
He was graduated from Tillamook (Ore.) High School.
He was a retired truck driver who drove for CRST truck line.
He had lived in Texas for the past 11 years before he moved to the Cassville area nine months ago.
He was a member of Shell Knob Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Robert Carter, Baxter Springs, Kan.; two daughters, Jeana Thomas, Vancouver, Wash., and Vicki Burch, Butterfield; three brothers, Larry Carter, Purdy, and Paul Carter and Frank Carter, both of Cassville; two sisters, Freda Shelley, Butterfield, and Gail Walker, Ponce De Leon, and six grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.
The Rev. Jerry Nickle will officiate.
Burial will be in Munsey Cemetery, Eagle Rock.
Pallbearers will be Lawrence Carter, Paul Carter, Frank Carter, Lesley Carter, Dencil Carter and Craig Stratton.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Ruth Clanton
NEOSHO, Mo. - Opal Ruth Clanton, 86, Daytona Beach, Fla., formerly of Neosho, died at 5:18 a.m. Wednesday, March 12, 1997, at a Daytona Beach nursing home after a long illness.
Mrs. Clanton was born June 6, 1910, in Newton County. She moved to Neosho in 1988 from McDonald County.
She moved to Florida in 1993.
She had worked as a licensed practical nurse at the former Cardwell Memorial Hospital, Stella.
She was a member of the Baptist church.
She married Joe Clanton on Jan. 16, 1931, in Carthage. He died April 19, 1990.
Survivors include a daughter, Anna V. Carnell, Astor, Fla.; two granddaughters and two great-grandsons.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hazelgreen Cemetery, Boulder City. Dick Reed will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Woodard-Freund-Thompson Funeral Home, Neosho.
Contributions may be made to the Hospice of Voulsia County, Fla., in care of the funeral home.
Michael Helm
WHEATON, Mo. - Michael R. Helm, 47, Route 1, Purdy, died at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, 1997, at Cox South Hospital, Springfield, after a long illness.
Mr. Helm was born Nov. 8, 1949, at Des Moines, Iowa.
He served in the Army during the Vietnam War.
He had lived in the Wheaton area for 21 years.
Survivors include a son, Bo Helm, Pierce City; three daughters, Charity Gamboa and Faith Ann Helm, both of the state of Kansas; Jeffie Helm, Show Low, Ariz.; his father, Richard Helm, Des Moines; his mother, Bernice Versteeg, Purdy; a brother, Jay Velcher, Snowflake, Ariz.; four sisters, Dara Plympton, Snowflake, Rosie Babbitt, Joplin, Linda Stucky, Snowflake, Laurie Click, Tuscon, Ariz.; and six grandchildren.
The body has been cremated.
