Annie Doyle
RIDGLEY, Mo. - Annie Doyle, 91, Ridgley, died at 7:50 p.m. Saturday, March 15, 1997, at her home after a long illness.
Mrs. Doyle was born April 10, 1905, at Exeter. She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Ridgley Assembly of God Church.
She married John A. Doyle on Aug. 27, 1924, in the state of Oregon.
He preceded her in death.
Survivors include a brother, Paul Laney, Troutdale, Ore.
Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Concord Cemetery, Exeter.
The Rev. Danny Heupel will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. today at Wheaton Funeral Home.
O'Dean Senters
MARIONVILLE, Mo. - O'Dean Senters, 78, Marionville, formerly of Washburn, died at 9:50 a.m. Saturday, March 15, 1997, at a local nursing home after a six-month illness.
Mrs. Senters was born Aug. 20, 1918, at Monett.
She lived most of her life on a Washburn farm.
She lived 13 years at Purdy, and the last two years at Marionville.
She was a member of Mission Baptist Church, Washburn.
She married Everett Ray Senters on Jan. 16, 1950, at Bentonville, Ark.
He died Jan. 16, 1979.
Survivors include a daughter, Deanna Davis, Marionville; four brothers, Bob Prewitt, Gene Prewitt and Lester Prewitt, all of Exeter, and J.R. Prewitt, Columbia; three sisters, Ruth Stephens, Cassville, Eva Higgs, Holden, and Virginia Prewitt, state of Oregon; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville.
The Rev. Paul Watson will officiate.
Burial will be in Chitwood Cemetery, Rocky Comfort.
Pallbearers will be Larry Prewitt, Ferman Prewitt, Denny Prewitt, Donnie Stephens, Raymond Vanzant and James Stephens.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Katherine Shepherd
SARCOXIE, Mo. - Katherine D. Shepherd, 82, Sarcoxie, died at 8:44 a.m. Sunday, March 16, 1997, at St. John's Regional Medical Center, Joplin, after a short illness.
Mrs. Shepherd was born July 27, 1914, at Ritchey.
She graduated from high school at Ritchey.
She lived many years at Sarcoxie.
She was a clerical worker for what is now called Missouri Rehabilitation Center, Mount Vernon, and Royce Manor, a former Sarcoxie nursing home.
She was a member of First Christian Church and Order of the Eastern Star Charity Chapter No. 341, both of Sarcoxie.
She was a past president of Sarcoxie Parent Teachers Association.
She married James Louis Shepherd on May 18, 1933, at Neosho.
He died Jan. 22, 1968.
Survivors include two sons, Tom Shepherd, Sarcoxie, and John Shepherd, Branson; a sister, Evangeline Shepherd, Pierce City; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Christian Church.
Don Sullivan and the Rev. Bob Hubbard will officiate.
Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery at Newtonia.
Pallbearers will be Gene Duff, Nolan Fieker, Clyde Reeves, Cole Cummins, Gene Teidemann and Bob Agan.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Housh Funeral Home, Sarcoxie.
Gladys Doty
Gladys H. Doty, 89, Carson City, Nevada, formerly of Joplin, died on Wednesday, March 12, 1997, at the home of her daughter after an illness.
Mrs. Doty was born July 6, 1907, in the state of Iowa.
She had lived in Joplin most of her life, moving to California in 1981.
She was a homemaker.
She married Julius Doty on March 16, 1929, in Joplin.
He died April 18, 1995.
Survivors include a daughter, Jean Schmid, Carson City; two sisters, Eunice Simpson, Webb City, and Buella Krill, Galena, Kan; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Mount Hope Cemetery, Webb City.
The Rev. Elmer Tyree will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of Thornill-Dillon Mortuary, Joplin.
Ernestine Branham
GRANBY, Mo. - Ernestine Turner Branham, 82, Albuquerque, N.M., a native of rural Granby, died at 1:30 a.m. Friday, March 14, 1997, at Kaseman Presbyterian Hospital, Albuquerque, of an illness.
Mrs. Branham was born Aug. 27, 1914, in rural Newton County, south of Granby.
She graduated from the former Midway High School and attended Clark's Business College at Topeka, Kan.
She was a secretary and registrar at the Topeka schools for 10 years.
In Albuquerque, she was church secretary eight years for the First Baptist Church and she later worked in the women's clothing department at Kistler-Collister for three years.
She was a member of First Baptist Church, Albuquerque.
Survivors include her husband, Onel C. Branham, Albuquerque; a daughter, Judith Branham, Wickenburg, Ariz.; a son, Robert Branham, San Jose, Calif.; and two brothers, Noel Turner, San Mateo, Calif., and Kenneth Turner, Monett. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. today at French Mortuary, Albuquerque. The Rev. Jerry Evans will officiate.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at IOOF Cemetery, Neosho. John Rollins will officiate.

Charles Cook Sr.
ANDERSON, Mo. - Charles E. "Gene" Cook Sr., 68, Anderson, died at 8:35 a.m. Friday, March 14, 1997, at St. John's Regional Medical Center, Joplin, after a long illness.
Mr. Cook was born Aug. 12, 1928, at Bolivar.
He graduated from Bolivar High School.
He moved to Barry County in the early 1950s, where he was employed with Forrest Products.
His wife, Hazel Pearson, survives.
Additional survivors include four sons, Darrel Lowe, Noel, Brent Peterson, Monett, Charles E. Cook Jr., Cassville, Jerry Lee Cook, address unavailable; two daughters, Connie Willis, Anderson, and Dusta Cook, Exeter; two brothers, Carl Junior Cook, Springfield, and Ronnie Lee Cook, Brighton; four half-brothers, Jerry Cook, Las Vegas, Nevada; Jesse Evans, Robert Evans, and Clifford Evans, all of Bolivar; a sister, Louise Shorter, Dallas, Texas; a half-sister, Lila Stephensmire, of the state of Idaho; and six grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Maplewood Cemetery, Exeter.
Derald Compton, minister, will officiate.

Max Darby
MOUNT VERNON, Mo. - Max Edward Darby, 72, Mount Vernon, died at 4:20 a.m. Saturday, March 15, 1997, at St. John's Regional Medical Center, Joplin, after a short illness.
Mr. Darby was born Aug. 5, 1924, in Mount Vernon, where he was a lifetime area resident.
He was an Air Force veteran who served in World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War.
He was a World War II prisoner of war who received several medals.
After retiring from the Air Force, he was a respiratory therapist at the Missouri Rehabilitation Center, Mount Vernon, retiring in 1967.
He was a member of the Church of Christ, Mount Vernon.
He married Phyllis Cupps in 1980 in Mount Vernon. She survives.
Additional survivors include a daughter, Deborah Dover, Greenville, S.C.; two stepsons, Bill Cupps, Joplin, and Gordon Cupps, Branson; a stepdaughter, Marti Fitzgerald, Joplin; and five grandchildren.
The body has been cremated.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home, Mount Vernon.
Burial and and graveside military rites will be conducted at Hazelgreen Cemetery at Boulder City.
Contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, in care of the funeral home.
Louise Dykens
PIERCE CITY, Mo. - Louise Boswell Dykens, 81, Pierce City, died at 1:59 a.m. Friday, March 14, 1997, at a Springfield nursing home after a long illness.
Mrs. Dykens was born Aug. 18, 1915, at Strafford.
She was a retired cosmetologist.
She was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church, the American Cosmetology Board, Neosho (Mo.) Weavers Guild and the Dry Valley community Extension Club, near Pierce City.
She married Alfred Boswell on May 22, 1938. He died March 2, 1975.
She married Harold Dykens on Dec. 7, 1975.
He died June 23, 1987.
Survivors include a son, Alfred Boswell, Halltown; three daughters, Carolyn Boswell, Springfield, Sally Boswell, Tallahassee, Fla., and Vivian Boswell, Ash Grove; a sister, Ruby Hirsch, Seneca; and six grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Mount Olivet Cemetery, north of Pierce City.
The Rev. Crystal Wicks will officiate.
Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. today at Lakin Funeral Home, Pierce City.
