Jimmie Bowman
Jimmie D. Bowman, 61, 1506 E. 38th St., died at 9:10 a.m. Tuesday, March 25, 1997, at his home after a one-year illness.
Mr. Bowman was born Sept. 3, 1935, at Monett.
He was graduated in 1953 from Joplin High School.
He served in the Army from 1953 to 1955.
He moved in 1955 to California, where he retired in 1990 after 30 years as a draftsman for Rockwell International.
He returned to Joplin in 1995.
He was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church, Joplin.
He married Margie Bailey on May 5, 1961, at South Gate, Calif. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Douglas Bowman, Corona, Calif., and Kenneth Bowman, Anaheim, Calif.; and a brother, Darrell E. Calentine, Goddard, Kan.
Arrangements are pending with Parker Mortuary, Joplin.
Pat Fair
Sara Patricia "Pat" Fair, 65, 2320 N. Turk Ave., died at 2:15 p.m. Monday, March 24, 1997, at her home after a 1“-year illness.
Mrs. Fair was born Jan. 31, 1932, in Joplin.
She had lived since 1956 in Joplin, where she moved from Kansas City.
She was a ward clerk for 10 years at the former Oak Hill Hospital, now called Freeman Hospital East, at Joplin.
She was a member of Joplin Family Worship Center.
She married Jimmie D. Fair on Dec. 7, 1957, at Bronaugh. He survives.
Other survivors include three sons, Alan L. Caldwell, Newton, Kan., James M. "Mike" Fair, Wichita, Kan., and Jeffrey L. Fair, Webb City; two daughters, Cathy Harrel, Carl Junction, and Linda C. Bocklund, Webb City; a brother, Daniel G. McKinzie, Joplin; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Mount Hope Cemetery, Webb City.
Charles Clark will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the home.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
Minnie Goodman
Minnie M. Goodman, 80, 3802 Norman Drive, died at 3:45 p.m. Monday, March 24, at St. John's Regional Medical Center after she became ill at her home.
Mrs. Goodman was born Aug. 23, 1916, in Webb City.
She was a lifetime Joplin resident.
She was a former employee at Junge Baking Co.
She was a floral designer with Waterman Florist, Joplin Floral and All Seasons Florist & Greenhouse until she retired in 1995.
She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, the Biz Club and the Veterans of Foreign Wars auxiliary.
Survivors include a daughter, Rory Ann Goodman, Joplin.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Pastor Lowell Rossow with officiate.
Burial will be in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Henry Peters, Raymond Peters, Reinhart Cahman, Mahlon Henry, Earl Wade and Don Mosley.
Family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary.
Contributions may be made to the Immanuel Lutheran Church organ fund.
Mark Hildreth
Mark Hildreth, 95, 5721 Shoal Cliff Drive, died at 12:56 a.m. Tuesday, March 25, 1997, at Freeman Hospital West after a short illness.
Mr. Hildreth was born Nov. 27, 1901, at Leon, Kan.
He had lived since 1914 in Joplin, where he moved from from Leon.
He worked 39 years at the former Cities Services Gas Co., Joplin.
He retired in June 1965 as a line maintenance foreman.
He married Louise A. DeMaster on Dec. 22, 1923, in Joplin.
She died July 27, 1992.
Survivors include a daughter, Peggy McDonald, Joplin; three grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Cryptside services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery.
John Goodman will officiate.
Family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. today at Parker Mortuary.
Ruth Lunderborg
Ruth O. Lunderborg, 87, Joplin, died at 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 25, 1997, at a local nursing home after a long illness.
Mrs. Lunderborg was born June 1, 1909, at Flat River.
She lived most of her life in Joplin.
She worked many years at American Wafer, Joplin.
She was a member of South Joplin Christian Church.
Survivors include a sister, Una Niel, Joplin.
Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. today at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery.
The Rev. Ron Wade will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin.
R.C. Owens
R.C. "Bus" Owens, 91, 2629 Joplin Ave., died at 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 25, 1997, at a Joplin nursing center after a long illness.
Mr. Owens was born on March 10, 1906, at Carterville.
He was graduated in 1923 from Webb City High School.
He was employed at Royal Furniture Co., Webb City, for 30 years.
He married Ellen Owens on Jan. 25, 1930, at Kansas City. She survives.
Other survivors include a son, David Owens, Glen Ridge, N.J.; a daughter, Jean Warner, Toronto, Canada; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Simpson Funeral Home, Webb City.
Burial will be in Friends Cemetery, Purcell.
Contributions may be made to Webb City Youth Baseball and Softball, in care of the funeral home.
Lester Testerman
Lester J. Testerman, 71, 8132 Highway NN, was pronounced dead at 1:02 p.m. Monday, March 24, 1997, at St. John's Regional Medical Center, Joplin, of injuries he sustained in a tractor accident on his property.
Mr. Testerman was born Feb. 6, 1926, in Seneca.
He lived most of his life in the Seneca and Joplin areas.
He was a retired truck driver for Swift Co., St. Joseph.
He was also a farmer and cattleman.
He was a member of Saginaw Baptist Church.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
He married Betty Emery on Jan. 19, 1947, at Columbus, Kan. She survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Larry Testerman, Webb City, and Lonnie Testerman, Pocatello, Idaho; a daughter, Karolyn Weiss, Denton, Texas; a brother, Cecil Testerman, Seneca; two sisters, Hazel Golden, Seneca, and Norma Stillions, Springfield; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Seneca Cemetery.
The Rev. Glen Stark, the Rev. John Mitchell and the Rev. Johnny Wilkins will officiate.
