Tracy Welch
CARTHAGE, Mo. - Tracy R. Welch, 28, 324 N. Francis St., Carthage, was pronounced dead at 6:15 a.m. Tuesday, March 25, 1997, at her home after a sudden illness.
The cause of her death is under investigation.
Mrs. Welch was born Feb. 23, 1969, in Carthage.
She was graduated from Carthage High School in 1987.
She was employed as an associate at the Wal-Mart Supercenter.
She previously worked at Mazzio's Pizza for six years.
She was a member of Bible Baptist Church.
She married Robert C. Welch II on March 22, 1991, in Carthage. He survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Ashton Welch, of the home; two brothers, Chad Wampler, Springfield, and Chet Wampler, Carthage; a sister, Trisha Wampler, Springfield; her parents, Charles and Janet Wampler, Carthage; her paternal grandfather, Russell Wampler, Carthage; and her maternal grandmother, Irma Wecker, Carthage.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Bible Baptist Church.
The Rev. Bill Whitfield will officiate.
Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Knell Mortuary.
Contributions may be made to the Tracy Welch Fund in care of the mortuary.
Warren Wolfe
AURORA, Mo. - Warren P. Wolfe, 88, Ozark, formerly of Aurora, died at 3:08 a.m. Tuesday, March 25, 1997, at an Ozark nursing home.
Mr. Wolfe was born Jan. 16, 1909, at LaCygne, Kan.
He was manager of the TAPJAC store at Aurora before he retired.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
He married Wanda Wolf on March 14, 1941. She survives.
Other survivors include a son, Jerry Wolfe, Springfield; and a grandson.
Masonic rites will be at 7 p.m. today at Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home. Visitation will follow.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Iantha Community Cemetery, Iantha.
Contributions may be made to the Shriner's Crippled Children's Hospital fund.
Bernadine Angel
Bernadine Angel, 88, Arlington, Va., a former Joplin resident, died at 6:50 a.m. Tuesday, March 18, 1997, at Sibley Memorial Hospital, Washington, D.C.,after a long illness.
Mrs. Angel was born Feb. 1, 1909.
She moved from Joplin to Virginia 50 years ago.
She worked as a secretary for the U.S. government.
She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Washington, D.C.
She married Harold Angel on Dec. 31, 1949, in Joplin.
He died March 30, 1965.
There are no immediate survivors.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Washington, D.C.
Arrangements are under the direction of Kalas Funeral Home, Oxon Hill, Md.
Burial will be at a later date in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery, Joplin.
Local arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary, Joplin.
Doug Bladl
Doug Bladl, 93, Joplin, died at 4:15 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, 1997, at Freeman Hospital West after a long illness.
Mr. Bladl was born June 18, 1903, at Jasper, Minn.
She spent most of his life in Joplin.
He owned and operated the former Bladl Market for several years. He was a Catholic.
He married Iva C. "Mickey" Michael on Jan. 6, 1932, at Winfield, Kan. She died Dec. 24, 1989.
There are no immediate survivors.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Osborne Memorial Cemetery.
The Rev. J.K. Wright will officiate.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
Doyle Goins
Doyle Everett Goins, 75, Joplin, died at 5:10 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, 1997, at St. John's Regional Medical Center after an illness of several months.
Mr. Goins was born May 18, 1921, at Kenwood, Okla.
He moved to the Joplin area in 1941.
He was a transporter for the former Atlas Powder Co., now known as ICI Explosives, for more than 40 years. He retired Sept. 1, 1981.
He was a Methodist and a member of the Joplin Bowling League.
He was an Army veteran of World War II who served as a paratrooper in the Airborne Division and attained the rank of sergeant.
Survivors include a daughter, Sharon Howell, Joplin; three brothers, Earl Goins, Jay, Okla., Howard Goins, Wichita, Kan., and Durward Goins, Miami, Okla.; two sisters, Lorene Goins, the state of Oregon, and Melba Goins, Jay; three grandsons; and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at United Methodist Church, Jay.
The Rev. Mike Chase will officiate.
Burial will be in Spavinaw Cemetery, west of Jay.
Pallbearers will be Jim Bingham, Harlin Brewer, Rick Goins, Randy Goins, Dale Goins and Danny Knight.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Parker Mortuary.
Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, in care of the mortuary.
Glenn Tucker
James Glenn Tucker, 83, Joplin, died at 6:45 a.m. Wednesday, March 19, 1997, at a local nursing home, where he had been a patient for five weeks.
Mr. Tucker was born April 17, 1913, in Joplin and was a lifetime resident.
He was a sheet metal worker for Rainey Roofing and Sheet Metal for 25 years. He retired in 1972.
He was a member of Empire Baptist Church, Joplin, and Sheet Metal Workers of America, Local No. 36, St. Louis.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
He married Freddie B. Hosp on Sept. 7, 1930, in Joplin. She survives.
Additional survivors include two daughters, Jeanene McCoy and Martha "Marty" Stephens, both of Joplin; a son, Fredrick Tucker, Belleville, Ill.; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Parker Mortuary.
The Rev. Steve Grace will officiate.
Burial will be in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the mortuary.
Joe Cardoza Jr.
CASSVILLE, Mo. - Joseph "Joe" Cardoza Jr., 79, St. Louis, died at 1:15 p.m. Sunday, March 16, 1997, at a St. Louis nursing home after a long illness. His wife, Leeson Cardoza, is from Cassville.
Mr. Cardoza was born Nov. 27, 1917, at Oakland, Calif.
He was graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles, and received his master's degree from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles.
He was a teacher in Springfield before he moved to St. Louis in 1950, where he continued his teaching career.
He was a member of Crestwood First Baptist Church, St. Louis, and planned programs for retired church members.
He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.
He married Leeson E. Meador on Dec. 23, 1947, at Springfield. She survives.
Other survivors include three grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Oak Hill Cemetery, Cassville.
Arrangements are under the direction of Williamson Funeral Home, Cassville.
