Daisy Henderson
AURORA, Mo. - Daisy Mae Henderson, 57, Aurora, died at 3:40 a.m. Thursday, March 20, 1997, in her home after a long illness.
Mrs. Henderson was born July 14, 1939, at Neillsville, Wis.
She was an elementary teacher and a homemaker.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Aurora, the Aurora Education Association, the Missouri State Teachers Association, the International Reading Association and the Aurora Airport Board.
She married Ron Henderson on July 4, 1984, in Aurora. He survives.
Additional survivors include a son, Casey Shook, Lawrence, Kan.; two daughters, Traci King, Aurora, and Kristi Lundgren, Springfield; a stepson, Matt Henderson, St. Louis; four stepdaughters, Valerie Henderson and Grace Henderson, both of Manhattan, Kan., Mary Schutter, Corvalis, Ore., and Beth Hammond, Emporia, Kan.; her mother and stepfather, Daisy and Hal Harrill, Pacoima, Calif.; a brother, Bert Hart, hometown unavailable; two daughters, Judy Pernice, Simi Valley, Calif., and Linda Carver, Bouquet Canyon, Calif.; and five grandchildren.
Services were Friday at the First Baptist Church, Aurora.
The Rev. Tommy Blair and the Rev. Harold Gold officiated.
Burial was in Maple Park Cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home, Aurora.

Roy Long
NEOSHO, Mo. - Roy Lee Long, 79, 602 N. Jefferson Ave., Neosho, died at 9:05 p.m. Thursday, March 20, 1997, at Freeman Neosho Hospital after a three-month illness.
Mr. Long was born Aug. 30, 1917, at Fairview.
He was a lifelong area resident.
He worked for the Neosho street department for many years, retiring in August 1981.
He married Opal Pogue on Dec. 12, 1940, at Purdy. She survives.
Additional survivors include two daughters, Norma Ledford and Bonnie Phelan, both of Neosho; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Clark Funeral Home, Neosho, with Alan Gaines, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Macedonia Cemetery at Stella.
Pallbearers will be Ron Pogue, Charles Weston, Steve Weston, Donald Weston, Danny Pogue, and Grover Pogue.
Visitation will be from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Noah Neely
MOUNT VERNON, Mo. - Noah J. Neely, 88, Mount Vernon, died at 5:30 a.m. Friday, March 21, 1997, at a Monett nursing home after a short illness.
Mr. Neely was born Jan. 26, 1909, at Jenkins.
He spent most of his life in Mount Vernon.
He was a retired worker for the Carnation Can Co., Mount Vernon.
He had been a member of the Mount Vernon Saddle Club and the Baptist Hill Organization board.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Mount Vernon and the Mount Vernon Odd Fellows Lodge.
He married Georgia Jane Pruitt on March 12, 1931, in Mount Vernon. She died July 16, 1996.
Survivors include a son, Sidney Neely, Springfield; a sister, Imogene Atkinson, Mount Vernon; and two grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Williams Cemetery, west of Mount Vernon.
The Rev. Gary Gilmore will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home, Mount Vernon.
Contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church, Mount Vernon.
Harold Prescott
MOUNT VERNON, Mo. - Harold S. Prescott Sr., 89, Mount Vernon, died at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, March 20, 1997, at a nursing home in Mount Vernon after an illness.
Mr. Prescott was born April 24, 1907, at Pawtucket, R.I.
He graduated in 1930 from Brown University with a degree in civil engineering.
He moved in 1948 from Rhode Island to Placerville, Calif., where he operated an engineering office until retiring in 1969.
He moved to Missouri in 1969.
He was a Baptist and a member of the Masonic Lodge in Miller and the Shrine.
He served in the Corps of Engineers during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Minnie Prescott; three sons, Harold S. Prescott Jr., Placerville, Lawrence L. Prescott, Sapulpa, Okla., and Glenn S. Prescott, Seneca; a daughter, Colleen S. Prescott, Denver, Colo.; two stepdaughters, Beverly Bauche, North Kingstown, R.I., and Glenda Drenon, Diamond Springs, Calif.; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great- grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three wives, two sons, a daughter, a stepson,and a stepdaughter.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Friends may call after 10 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Philip Steenrod
LOCKWOOD, Mo. - Philip H. Steenrod, 74, Ottawa, Kan., formerly of Lockwood, died Thursday, March 20, 1997, at Ransom Memorial Hospital, Ottawa, after an illness.
Mr. Steenrod was born Sept. 11, 1922, in Lockwood.
He graduated from Lockwood High School in 1940.
He moved to Ottawa in 1961 from Missouri, where he had lived in Lockwood and Carthage.
He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II.
He later served in the Missouri National Guard before being discharged in 1951 as a sergeant.
He worked for several years at Harnig Sheet Metal Co., Lawrence, Kan.
He worked for 16 years in the maintenance department of the Kansas State Highway Department, retiring in 1985.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Lockwood.
He was a member and past president of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie Lodge No. 2700, Ottawa.
He was a former Boy Scout leader and member of the Ottawa Men's Bowling Association.
He married Lucy Beals on Sept. 15, 1956, in Lockwood. She survives.
Additional survivors include a son, Philip Steenrod, Litchfield, Minn.; two daughters, Ginger Milbern and Rebecca Grauel, both of Ottawa; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa.
Pastor Duane Pedrow will officiate.
Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Ottawa.
Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5901, Ottawa.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Additional visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home.
Contributions may be made to the Eagle's Lodge Building Fund, in care of the funeral home.
Bernadine Angel
Bernadine Angel, 88, Arlington, Va., a former Joplin resident, died at 6:50 a.m. Tuesday, March 18, 1997, at Sibley Memorial Hospital, Washington, D.C.,after a long illness.
Mrs. Angel was born Feb. 1, 1909.
She moved from Joplin to Virginia 50 years ago.
She worked as a secretary for the U.S. government.
She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Washington, D.C.
She married Harold Angel on Dec. 31, 1949, in Joplin. He died March 30, 1965.
There are no immediate survivors.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Washington, D.C.
Arrangements are under the direction of Kalas Funeral Home, Oxon Hill, Md.
Burial will be at a later date in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery, Joplin.
Local arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary, Joplin.
Doug Bladl
Doug Bladl, 93, Joplin, died at 4:15 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, 1997, at Freeman Hospital West after a long illness.
Mr. Bladl was born June 18, 1903, at Jasper, Minn.
She spent most of his life in Joplin.
He owned and operated the former Bladl Market for several years. He was a Catholic.
He married Iva C. "Mickey" Michael on Jan. 6, 1932, at Winfield, Kan.
She died Dec. 24, 1989.
There are no immediate survivors.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Osborne Memorial Cemetery. The Rev. J.K. Wright will officiate.
