Walter Damberger
AURORA, Mo. - Walter Damberger, 82, Aurora, died at 1:40 p.m. Friday, March 21, 1997, at St. John's Regional Health Center, Springfield, after a short illness.
Mr. Damberger was born May 28, 1914, in Cleveland, Ohio. He was a member of
the Aurora United Methodist Church. He was a retired general foreman for the former Southwest Manufacturing Co.
He married Ruth Fricke on June 18, 1938, in Cleveland. She survives.
Additional survivors include a daughter, Joyce Burkhart, Grandview; a brother, William Damberger, Orville, Calif.; a sister, Audrey Lavey, Cleveland, Ohio; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home. The Rev. Harold Gold will officiate. Burial will in Maple Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mary Fieker
CARTHAGE, Mo. - Mary Madaline Fieker, 99, Carthage, died at 5:15 p.m. Friday, March 21, 1997, at a local nursing home after a long illness.
Mrs. Fieker was born Oct. 1, 1897, at Stotts City. She moved in 1956 to Stotts City from Carthage. She was a homemaker and a member of East View United Methodist Church, Stotts City.
She married Henry August Fieker on Sept. 6, 1914, at Stotts City. He died Nov. 2, 1945.
Survivors include two sons, Raymond Fieker, Miller, and Howard Fieker, Noel; two daughters, Elsie Chorum, Carthage, and Loeda Cochran, La Russell; a sister, Eula Hutchins, Crane; 21 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Morris-Leiman-Mosher Funeral Home, Miller. Dennis Cochran, chaplain, will officiate. Burial will be in Zion Memorial Cemetery, southeast of Stotts City.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Ralph Pyle
GREENFIELD, Mo. - Ralph Loren Pyle, 78, Greenfield, died at 1:23 p.m. Friday,
March 21, 1997, at Cox Medical Center South, Springfield, after a week-long illness.
Mr. Pyle was born May 4, 1918, at Cedar County. He had lived about 20 years at Greenfield, moving from Jasper County. He was a farmer and a member of the Greenfield United Methodist Church.
He married Lorene Oldham on Dec. 24, 1939, at El Dorado Springs. She survives.
Additional survivors include two daughters, Mary Rush, Osborne, Kan., and Pat Watson, Branson; two sons, Jim Pyle, Austin, Texas, and Bob Pyle, Greenfield; 15 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Brumback Funeral Home, Stockton. The Rev. George Bohm and the Rev. Garry Rush will officiate. Burial will be in Stockton Cemetery.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers, including Robby Pyle, Rowdy Pyle, Mike Pyle, Mike Watson, John Watson, Scott Rush and Doug Chisam.
Contributions may be made to the Southwest Indian School, Peoria, Ariz., in care of the funeral home.
Burnice Robbins
AURORA, Mo. - Burnice Robbins, 91, Aurora, died at 1:08 p.m. Friday, March 21, 1997, at an Aurora nursing center after an illness.
Mrs. Robbins was born Sept. 8, 1905, in Barry County. She was a member of the Aurora Fundamental Methodist Church and a lifelong area resident.
She married Howard Robbins on Sept. 2, 1925 in Norman, Okla. He died Jan. 6, 1978.
Survivors include three sons, Billy Robbins and Raymond Robbins, both of Springfield, and Charles Robbins, Sparta; two daughters, June Kenyon, Aurora, and Sallie Roam, Foristell; a sister, Frances Karn, Tulsa, Okla.; 10 grandchildren; and 12-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home. The Rev. Bob Wilkin will officiate, with burial in Maple Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Arlo Royer
CARTHAGE, Mo. - Arlo S. Royer, 85, Buena Park, Calif., formerly of Carthage,died at 3:45 a.m. Friday, March 21, 1997, at Columbia Medical Center, Anaheim, Calif., after a several-month illness.
Mr. Royer was born Oct. 21, 1911, in Jasper County, southeast of Carthage.
He worked at the former Hercules Powder Co., Carthage, retiring in 1958. He worked as a custodian at Carthage Senior High School. He moved in the 1970s to Buena Park and worked in the maintenance department of a Garden Grove, Calif., School District. He was a member of the La Palma, Calif., Baptist Church.
He was a 50-year member and served as past-master of the Masonic Lodge, Carthage.
Survivors include his wife, Pearl Rebecca "Becky" Royer; a daughter, Anna May Sellers, Yorba Linda, Calif.; a son, Carl Royer, Carthage route 5; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Knell Mortuary, Carthage. The Rev. Fred Royer will officiate. Burial will be in Park Cemetery, Carthage.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Contributions may be made to the Victory Baptist Church, Carthage, or the Gideons International.
Verdayne Stubblefield
MONETT, Mo. - Verdayne Stubblefield, 85, New Albany, Ind., formerly of Monett, died at 6:35 a.m. Saturday, March 22, 1997, in New Albany.
Mr. Stubblefield was born Dec. 12, 1911, at Manyo. He was a World War II Army veteran. He was a retired merchandiser for the Kitty Clover/Clarey House Potato Chip Co.
Surviving are his wife, Lela Mae Stubblefield; a son, Earl Stubblefield, New Albany; a brother, Lowell Stubblefield, Aurora; two sisters, Agnes Fairchild, Manila, Ark., and Delores Pennel, Joplin; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home in Monett. The Rev. Mark Mildren will officiate. Burial will be in the Monett IOOF Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Dovie Henning
Dovie L. Henning, 75, 2831 Kentucky Ave., died at 3:19 a.m. Sunday, March 23, 1997, at St. John's Regional Medical Center, where she had been a patient for five days.
Mrs. Henning was born Feb. 19, 1922, at Picher, Okla. She moved to Joplin in 1942 from Picher. She was a 1939 graduate of Picher High School. She formerly was employed as a nurse at Freeman Hospital. She later worked as a registered X-ray technician for Dr. Sandor Papp for 18 years. She retired in 1982 from Henning and Associates after 10 years of employment.
In 1984, she was worthy matron of Temple Chapter No. 95, Order of the Eastern Star. She was a charter member of Amaranth Praying Hands Court No. 5 and a member of Azotus Shrine No. 5, White Shrine of Jerusalem. She was a member of Harmony Heights Baptist Church, American Registry of Radiologists and the former Social Order of the Beauceant.
She married Eugene Henning on June 5, 1970, at Miami, Okla. He survives.
Additional survivors include a son Mark Roby, Boise, Idaho; a daughter, Mary Louanne Roby, Province, Mass.; a stepson, Gerald Henning, 6307 Impala Drive; three stepdaughters, Debra Henning, Carthage, Barbara Murray, Vista, Calif., and Rita Faye Cogbill, Carl Junction; a sister, Esther Bond, Riverton, Kan.; and four great-grandchildren.
