William "Bill" DeMoss
William “Bill” DeMoss, 73, Seneca, passed into eternal rest Friday, September 12, 2003 at his home after a long illness.
Bill was born July 22, 1930 the son of Earl and Venona Tomlinson DeMoss in Stella, Mo.
He lived in Seneca over 40 years. He worked at the former BF Goodrich plant in Miami, Ok and was a Korean War, Army Veteran. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Seneca.
Bill married Emma Lou Harp August 4, 1951 in Bentonville, Ark., and she survives.
Additional survivors include; One son Mike DeMoss and wife Regina, Seneca and One daughter; Geni Rinehart, Seneca. One sister Delaphine Griffin, Goodman, Mo., Six grandchildren; Kyle Rinehart, Kara Connell, Krystal Rinehart, Nicole Hubbard, Spencer DeMoss and Danielle DeMoss. 3 great-grandchildren; Corbin Rinehart, Brenden Rinehart and Chandler Connell.
Funeral Services under the direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday at the First Baptist Church, Seneca with Rev. Todd Decker officiating. Burial will be in the Seneca Cemetery with Richard Vineyard, Roy Stephens, Jim Johnson, Vernon Rinehart and James Lyons. Honorary Pallbearers will be Joe Johnson, Norman Kelley, Gene Cobble and Bud Boyer serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 2 pm to 4 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions can be made to Trinity Hospice, Joplin, Mo. in care of the Funeral Home.
Amy Lillian Neeley
A. Lillian “Grandma” Neeley, 96, Seneca, passed into eternal rest at 9:50 am, Sunday, September, 21, 2003 at Medical Lodge in Neosho.
Lillian was born May 21, 1907 the daughter of Howard and Sarah Smith in Gore, OK. Grandma Neeley was a homemaker and a member of the Seneca Assembly of God Church since 1978.
Lillian married Melvin Neeley, September 6, 1924 in Artisee, Ok and he preceded her in death July 18, 1976.
Survivors include; One son, Willis Neeley, Salisaw, OK.; Two daughters, Margie Terry, Seneca and Mary Lou Tinsley, Neosho; One sister, Ruby Mathis, Sand Springs, OK.; 18 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 22 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by Two sons; Coweta Neeley and Johnny Melvin Neeley, one brother and five sisters.
Funeral Services under the direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, September 24, 2003 at the Seneca Assembly Of God Church with the Rev. George Clay and Rev. Gary Wilkes officiating. Burial will be in the Hanna Cemetery, Hanna, OK at 3:30 pm with great grandsons, Michael Terry, David Cox, Matthew Terry, Ricky Conduff, Colby Merriman and Casey Merriman serving as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ryan Terry, Aaron Merriman and Eric Merriman.
The family will receive friends from 7pm to 8 pm Tuesday, at the funeral home.
Marie Elaine Bennett
Marie Elaine Barnett, 38, Neosho, Mo. passed away at 1:49 am, Thursday, September 25, 2003 from injuries sustained from automobile accident.
Marie was born March 2, 1965 in Parsons KS the daughter of William “Bill” and Barbara Scopel. She formerly worked for Bag Craft the Pony Express and recently work at the Seneca House Nursing Home as a Nurses Aid.
She married Orvel Barnett September 11, 2001 in Eureka Springs, ARK. and he survives.
Additional survivors include; Three sons, Cody Scopel and Orvel Barnett Jr. both of the home and Nic Bradshaw, Maryville, Mo. Her father Bill Scopel, TX; Two sisters, Jerrie Sims, Butterfield, Mo and Bobbi Reynolds, Joplin and a host of family and friends.
She was preceded in death by one sister and her mother Barbara Thurman.
Graveside Services under the direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca will be held 2:00 pm, Saturday 27, 2003 at Osborn Cemetery, Joplin with Rev. Calvin Ackerson officiating.
Mattie L. Mailes
Mattie L. Mailes, 91, Seneca, Missouri, passed into eternal rest at 10:15 pm, Friday, September 26, 2003 at St. Johns Regional Medical Center in Joplin after a long illness.
Mattie was born February 19, 1912 in McDonald County, Mo. She was a homemaker and a member of the Seneca Church of Christ.
Mattie married Nathan Roark Wilson in 1929 and he preceded her in death in August of 1972. She married Lawrence Mailes in 1974 and he preceded her in death February of 2000.
Survivors include one son Otis G. Wilson, Joplin; 2 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son Evertte Dean Wilson and one daughter Linda Kay Wilson.
Graveside services under the direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca, will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, September 30, 2003 at the Swars Prairie Baptist Cemetery with Bob Hampton minister, officiating.
Dorothy M. Heistand
Dorothy M. Heistand, 80, Seneca, died at 6:32 pm, Friday, October, 10, 2003 at Freeman Hospital, Joplin after an illness.
Dorothy was born May 16, 1923 in Lone Rock, Ark., the daughter of Christopher and Iva Heistand. She lived in the Seneca area over 50 years and was a homemaker.
She married Wilmer Heistand in 1940 and he preceded her in death Jan. 28, 1991.
Survivors include; One son, David Heistand, Seneca; Two daughters, Sue Chester, Seneca and Barbara Hirsch, Joplin; 8 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren and 3 great great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by 1 brother and 1 sister.
Graveside services under the direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, October 13, 2003 in the Seneca Cemetery with Rev. Charles Whitehead officiating.

V. Louise Wallace
V. Louise Wallace, 52, Carthage, died at 7:00 am, Sunday, October 26, 2003 at her home after an illness.
Louise was born Jan. 19, 1951, in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of James M.L. and Susie May Atkins. She devoted her life to her family and working beside her husband for the past 32 years. She was a member of the Elm Road Church of Christ in Carthage.
She married Dan C. Wallace in Davenport Iowa, April 8, 1971 and he survives.
Additional survivors include Two sons; Billy Wallace, Woodbridge, VA. And Jeremy Wallace, Joplin, Mo. Three daughters; Michaelanne Wallace, Cleburne, Tx., Debbie Wallace, Nashville, TN. And Pam Sturgeon, Carthage, MO.; Her Mother Susie Atkins, Silvis, ILL. Three brothers; Jim “Bob” Atkins, Kennewick, WA, Steve Atkins, and David Atkins both of Davenport, Iowa; Three sister; Donna DeLaRosa, Silvis, IL., Deb Hall, Dewitt, Iowa and Rhonda Sawyer, Houston TX. And Eight grandchildren.

Burial will be in the Seneca Cemetery with Dan Wallace, Michaelanne Wallace, Debbie Wallace, Pam Sturgeon, Billy Wallace and Jeremy Wallace serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 7pm to 8pm Tuesday at the Elm Road Church of Christ. Viewing will be held at the funeral home Tuesday from 9 am to 3:30 pm. Joe Hierholzer
Joseph M. Hierholzer, 57, Seneca, died at 4:57 PM, Friday, April 2, 2004 at his home in Seneca.
Joe was born September 17, 1946 in Seneca the son of Anthony Francis and Georgia Maxine Hierholzer. He was of the Catholic faith and had lived in Seneca all his life. He was a Air Force veteran serving during the Vietnam Conflict and later serving in the National Guard. Joe worked for the City of Seneca until retiring a few years ago.
Survivors include one son, Travis Hierholzer, Columbia, MO; one sister, Mary E. Fritchey and husband George, Seneca.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Francis Mackenbaugh.
Graveside services under the direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca, will be held 2:00 PM, Tuesday, April 6, 2004 at the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery with Rev. Calvin Ackerson officiating. Honorary Pallbearers will be, Tony Fritchey, Don Connell, Rocky Ackerson, Herman Jones, Don Cox and Vernon Rinehart. Graveside Military Rites will be conducted by American Legion Post 163, Neosho, MO.
The family will receive friends from 6 PM to 7 PM, Monday at the Funeral Home. The family will be at the home of Mary and George Fritchey.
