George P. Cope
George P. Cope, 96, Seneca, passed away at 5:55 AM, Sunday, August 15, 2004 at Freeman Neosho after an illness.
George was born March 6, 1908 in Carterville, Mo. the son of Albert and Nannie Cope. He had lived in California for 43 years where he worked as a foreman for a construction company. He moved back to the Seneca and Neosho area in 1980. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Seneca.
George married Edith Macy June 11, 1934 in Kansas and she survives.
Additional survivors include, one son, Howard Cope, Rolla, Mo; one daughter Shirley Rogers, Seneca; One brother Harry Cope, Seneca; two sisters, Gladys Barker and Mary Gilstrap both of Glendora, CA; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Johnny Cope and Robert Cope and one sister Nora Macy.
Graveside services under the direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, August 18, 2004 at Oakwood cemetery south west of Neosho, with Rev. Todd Decker officiating. Pallbearers will be Gene Cobble, Danny Ball, Raymond Money, Bill Massey, Don Mitchell and Frank Skaggs. Honorary Pallbearer will be Harry Cope.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. The casket will remain closed at all times.
Royce Lee Conduff
Royce Lee Conduff, age 59, of Wyandotte, OK passed away Friday August 6, 2004 at Grove Integris Hospital in the ER due to a brain aneurysm.
He was born in Seneca, MO on January 23, 1945 at home. His father was the late James Franklin “Frank Conduff”. His mother is Mary Alice Conduff of Seneca, MO. His older brother James Franklin “Joe” Conduff and his wife Sara Lize in Sperry, OK. His sister Christy Jeanette Conduff lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico. His brother Kevin Ray Conduff died in 1995.
Royce graduated in 1962 from Seneca High School. He spent almost 5 years in the United States Air Force. While stationed in Colorado, he met and married his wife, Phyllis Ann Reed on August 29, 1964.
Royce and Phyllis had two daughters. Felisa Ann is married to Brian Matthew Rash. They live in Wyandotte, OK. Brian is a Neosho music teacher. They have two children Katrina LeeAnn Rash and Matthew Isaac Rash, both beloved grandchildren. Karisa Lee Conduff teaches science at Joplin High School.
Father-in-law John Isaac Reed and sister-in-laws Linda Jensen and Susan Soares live in Colorado. Brother-in-law Dr. Richard John Reed and sister-in-law Debbie live in Joplin.
Royce had four nieces and seven nephews.
Royce worked 35 years in welding supply from 1967 to 2002. ( He worked for Burnidge & Jimmie Jones Co. & Airgas.) He worked a year at Wheelen RV before finally retiring in 2004. He loved to fish & hunt & enjoyed people.
Memorial Services will be held at 7:00 pm Tuesday, August 10, 2004 at the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home Chapel, Seneca with visitation following. The body has been taken for cremation.

Zelpha M. Patton
Zelpha M. Patton, 87 former Seneca resident died Monday, August 2, 2004 at Rolling Hills Nursing Home in Catoosa, OK.
She was born Jnauary 5, 1917 in Newton Co. Mo the daughter of Jack & Edith Welker. She was a member of the Seneca Chruch of Christ.
She is survived by one son, Jerry Patton, Oologah, OK; two daughters, Patricia Zink Albuquerque, NM and Mary Beth Isaminger, Albuquerque, NM.; two brothers, Warren Welker, Bella Vista, AR, and Norris John Welker, McAlester, Ok; one sister, Marjorie Clampitt, Quapaw, Ok.; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
One brother Calvin Welker preceded her in death.
Graveside services under the direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home will be held at 10:00 am Friday, August 6, 2004 at the Swars Prairie Baptist Cemetery south of Seneca. Bob Hampton, minister will officiated.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
Lottie B. Fritchey
Lottie B. Fritchey, 93, Seneca, died at 5:50 pm Friday, November 28, 2003 at Freeman West Hospital, after an illness.
Lottie was born April 15, 1910, the daughter of Elbin and Ellen Humphrey Helton, in Iberia, MO. She was a homemaker and a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Seneca. Lottie was a very loving and caring lady, who loved her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She loved to cook for her family and friends.
She married George Orval Fritchey April 14, 1928, in Neosho, MO. He preceded her in death June 28, 1954.
Survivors include: one son, George E. Fritchey, Seneca; three daughters, Gladys E. Fritchey, Seneca, Pauline Anderson, Scott City, KS, and Vera Mae Gilman, Welch, OK.; nine grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 14 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, December 1, 2003 at the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home Chapel, Seneca, with Harold Reaves officiating. Burial will be in the Seneca Cemetery with Willard Gilman, Wayne Gilman, Tony Fritchey, Lonnie Gilman, Bobby Wayne Gilman and Charles Tucker serving as pallbearers.
Leatha Pickering
Leatha Pickering, 91, Seneca, MO, died at 10:55 am Friday, November 28, 2003 at Freeman East Hospital,.
Leatha was born Sept. 18, 1912, the daughter of W.S. and Mamie Steidley Hornback, in rural MO.
She was a retired farm wife and had also worked as a clothing manufacturing seamstress in Miami and Commerce, OK, for several years.
She married Clarence W. Pickering August 8, 1935 in Carthage, MO, and he survives.
Additional survivors include: two daughters and sons-in law, Janet and Kenneth Chester, rural Wyandotte, OK, and Judy and Ron Rosiere, rural Quapaw, OK; four grandchildren and spouses, Beth and Don Drake, Roger and Cheryl Chester, Scott and Tamara Tynon and Steve and Karla Tynon; great grandchildren Brittany and Tony Linders, Jena and Kristan Chester, Jerrod, Jake and Jess Tynon, Wade and Chase Mayfield; great-great grandchildren, Tadem and Hannah Linders. She is also survived by her special dedicated caregiver of four years, Sue Morris, and dedicated caregivers Sue Barnett and Lydia (Edwards) Adams.
Leatha was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Stephanie Tynon, son-in law Doug Tynon, two sisters, Iona Sample, and Effie Clevenger, six brothers, Ivan, Leaman, Loren, Dudley, Sam and Ted Hornback.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, December 1, 2003 at the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home Chapel, Seneca, with Rev. James Shope officiating. Burial will be in Baxter Cemetery, Baxter Springs, KS. with

Wavebell Testerman
Wavebell Testerman, 91, Seneca, died at 6:50 PM, Sunday, November 23, 2003 at St. Johns Regional Medical Center, Joplin after an illness.
Wavebell was born February 1, 1912 in Newton County, MO. the daughter of Michael and Sara Belle Hoover. She lived in the Seneca area most of her life. She owned and operated a laundry mat in Seneca for years and attended the First Baptist Church of Seneca.
She married Ernest Testerman December 24, 1926 in Neosho, MO, and he preceded her in death in February of 1940.
Survivors include 2 sons; Ernest J. Testerman, Independence, MO and Richard Ronnie Testerman, Jefferson City, MO. and grandson Bobby Martin, Seneca; 3 daughters Julia Robbins, and Nella J. Young, both of Wyandotte, OK and Phyllis A Curtis, Seneca. One sister Jo Barker State of TX. Nine grandchildren, 17 great grand children and 10 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
Funeral Services under the direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, November the 26 at the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bob Vermillion officiating. Burial will be in the New Salem Cemetery with Ryan Powell, Brandon Stephens, Josias Stephens, Jimmy Brock, Jason Cornett, Kevin Doerr, Russell Testerman and Nick Powell serving as pallbearers.

Gary W. Hansbrough
Gary W. Hansbrough, 52, Seneca died at 7:14 am Thursday, November 20, 2003 at his home after an illness.
Gary was born Feb. 13, 1951 the son of Wayne and Betty Hansbrough in Maywood, CA. He was a Viet Nam Army Veteran. He worked as a press man for a copying company.
Gary married Cindy Fortner, April 20, 2002 in Miami, OK. and she survives.
Additional survivors include one son; Brian Hansbrough, Noel, MO. Two daughters Angie Reed, State of KS. and Heather Hansbrough, Winterset, IA. Two step daughters; Callie Hillburn and Chanae Fortner. His father and mother Wayne and Caroline, Dallas, TX. Three brothers; Larry Hansbrough and Dennis Hansbrough both of Des Moines, IA. And Wayne Hansbrough, Huston, TX. One sister Cindi Hinson, Plano, TX. Five grandchildren; Noah Reed, Brittany Reed, Starley Reed, Adam Huffman and Zachary Hansbrough.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, November 24, 2003 at the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home Chapel, Seneca with Bro. Gordon Thorn and Keith Tinsley officiating. Burial will be in the Seneca Cemetery with Fred Comfort, Jim Fellows, Randy Fortner, Chris Fortner, Terry Finch andCarlos Resendez serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends after 5 pm at the family home 1303 Wyandotte St. Seneca Sunday.
